Lake Erie Watersports offers rentals for stand up paddle boards, single and tandem kayaks, fat tire…read morebikes (great for riding in the sand) and kiteboarding. There are also lessons available for kiteboarding. They will make sure you are covered if you want to enjoy some active time when you are at the beach. I was lucky to come across this awesome business through a local event, Paddle through the Past for the Town of Evans Bicentennial. Lake Erie Watersports partnered with the Town of Evans for the event and donated some equipment rentals so people could participate. I greatly appreciated this because I myself don't own a stand up paddle board. I also admire a business owner who shares what they have and what they love with their community. Kris, the owner was very friendly and helpful. It was easy to arrange my rental and get the details of what I needed to do from her. She attended the event and was also a participant. This was my first time paddle boarding at 18 mile creek and I didn't realize it would be different than going in the lake. It was obvious she was the expert and gave some great tips on how to navigate through the creek because some areas are more shallow than others. If you want to try stand up paddle boarding it might be easier to learn in the creek if it's deep enough. The lake can get too rough quickly and it can be frustrating if you can't get up at first. You can park at Lake Erie Watersports or they can deliver your rentals to you. Your location must be within 10 miles of Angola. I highly recommend them for your summer outdoor rental needs!

Although the website is still up offering classes and rentals, I found out that in fact the company…read moreis not currently in operation for this season at the Bluffs. After reaching out to them through e-mail, I was told my request for info about lessons was forwarded to a representative from WSUP, a partner company supposedly based somewhere on Toronto Island. Well, I did not hear back after one week so went looking elsewhere. See my 5 star review for Toronto Island SUP. I think the people at Paddleboard Addict need to update their website so that people are not wasting their time.

Thanks to the wonders of the interwebs, I stumbled upon Paddleboard Addict when I was looking for a…read morespot to take an intro class with a group of friends. I had searched initially on Yelp but options came up short (following this review that will no longer be an issue). I connected with business owner Paul and chatted about prices, location, times and dates (the usual). Paul was very laid back and yet totally professional letting me know that he was flexible and totally willing to accommodate us on our day of choice. Making himself readily available by phone or email we confirmed a date and time and only needed to pay for one person in advance to secure the time slot, which I did via e-mail money transfer (oh the joys and conveniences of internet). When the day came, admittedly we were a touch (45 minutes) tardy, however we made sure to let Paul know we'd be running behind. When we finally arrived Paul was waiting for us happy to have us there. We signed some waivers and paid the rest of our balance owing and walked towards the close by community of floating houses (apparently something no longer allowed to be built in Ontario). Paul was a gracious host and professional guide, teaching us the basics of SUP (Stand-up Paddleboard) in minutes and getting us on our way quick. He took us around the marina and into the open water area teaching us about the ecosystem around us, the clarity of the water, and various wildlife present (didn't get to see the Karp or Muskeye he bragged about - probably a good thing). The entire experience was informative, fun, great exercise and a real joy all the way around! We were also fortunate enough that there weren't other bookings that day so Paul ended up taking us out for another 20-30 minutes over the hour we paid for! We all agreed that this was a great experience and would DEFINITELY come back to try! I HIGHLY recommend you give this place a try or at the very least try your hand at SUP! PS - Lake Ontario is ICE COLD - I didn't fall in BUT daaayyummmmm that ISH is C-O-L-D!
