My wife and I first became members of Paddle House in the summer of 2022 and absolutely fell in love with stand up paddling in the Redondo Harbor/marina areas. We were paddling 3-4 times per week which made the monthly membership fee a no-brainer. All of the staff (including Chase and owner Patrick) are absolutely amazing people and always super helpful. We not only love the discounts at their amazing store, but also have really appreciated use of the onsite bathrooms, foot massagers after coming off the water, and the dry sauna (especially during the colder winter months and when there is a heavy marine layer). The membership is also great because you get after hours access to the dock, boards, and paddle gear so it is great to go paddling outside of store hours, including in the early morning when there's less wind and at sunset after the store is closed. In addition, we have gotten both our kids (now college age) into SUP and they will sometimes go out with friends. Since 2022, I have dealt with neck and back issues which, on two separate occasions, caused us to pause our memberships. However, after having back surgery in December 2025 and working with a trainer the past several months, I'm happy to say my wife and I are back on the water and I'm back to going SUP about 3 times per week. This is by far one of our favorite activities to do in the South Bay and Paddle House makes it so easy to enjoy and use your membership. Any time we have guest come in from out of town, we take them paddling to enjoy the harbor/ocean, views of the marina, and the sea life which abounds (sea lions, sea birds including Blue Herons, tons of fish you can see in the clear waters, and even the occasional dolphin). To say that becoming members of Paddle House has changed the lives of my wife and I and our kids would be an understatement! The membership has been very well worth it, especially if you are going to go out more than 3 times per month. In fact, although my wife and I contemplated buying our own paddle boards, they are quite large and difficult to both store and transport, so the Paddle House membership is a no-brainer. Besides, the quality of their various SUP boards and equipment are excellent. And we often end up making an afternoon out of it by getting a bite to eat, a drink, and/or listening to a band at Project Barley or Najas after coming off the water. JUST DO IT!!! read more

The guys who work here are so nice and patient. If you've never paddled before they'll give you a quick tutorial. As the weather gets warmer and we approach the heart of the summer, I highly recommend you check out Paddle House when you're in the area. Newby to the sport? Not a problem! The staff is super friendly and will give you a tutorial of all you need to know before heading out to the marina. This includes your paddle, board, flotation decide, and life jacket. And in case you need a space to put shoes and other personal items away, they have lockers available for rent in the shop! The most important rule they have is to have fun or you'll be sent back out! HAHA But who wouldn't be able to have fun seeing the national state fish, seals in quantity, and plenty of birds. If you're lucky maybe even a whale! I recommend you go early and maybe not on a super sunny day so you can have the marina all to yourself and your party. Great place to rent paddleboards and kayaks. Took my nieces here for the first time since I mostly do SUP in Marina Del Rey. The place is very nice with merch and wow so impressed with the cute restroom. The customer service was great. They have lockers so you can lock up your personal items. Prices are reasonable and really like how it's not so busy with boats like it is in Marina Del Rey. You can see sea lions and pelicans along the rocks. A very nice time. This is a great place to rent a paddle board for the day. Easy process and they get you out ASAP. Life jackets are available for kids and floatation devices available for adults. My friend, who is a regular here recommended this place and I had a great time here. Lockers are $5 if you need it and you can put your shoes on the dock when you get on your board. Went there with my 13 year old nephew and wife. My nephew was a little nervous about the paddle boarding so I accompanied him on the dock. One of the guys was so rude and yelling like I was going to steal something. Been there before never has anyone been so rude. I just decided to leave. After that experience I don't think I'll ever go back which is sad cause it really used to be a nice team. Maybe he was having a bad day but he didn't even let me get a word in just kept yelling like a mad man to anyone customers or not. I wanted a skateboard that they had and I asked the owner if he can just wait for me to run to my car which was like 2 minutes away so I can grab my money to pay, and he refused so I made another trip down and i thought I'd make it in time but traffic hit and it stayed that I would arrive there at 5:02and I got there at 5:00 and the doors were already closed. Wtf?!!! This is a company that only works for itself and even tho I made an hour trip to get a stupid skateboard from them and I let him know so, he still was adamant about closing at 5pm so he can go to a barbecue. I'm getting my board elsewhere. And I do not support them bc everywhere else would have stay open for an extra 5 min especially if the customers called. I shit on you and on the owner who only cares about closing shop so he can leave. This is how you lose customers. If you want to paddle board. I live in Lawndale so I started looking around for a place to store my paddle board ..That's when I ran up on the paddle board house in Redondo Beach. I had never heard of any other places that store boards so I just jumped on that , Without even looking around I heard about a place called Tarzana and I asked them about it and they said oh yes there across the street you have to take your board down the road ,that's a bold-faced lie basically ... I went down to Tarzana and their boards are right on the water they might be $20 more a month to store your board there but at least it is right on the water you do not have to carry it out of the unit down to the slips and put it in the water. I am absolutely super duper glad that I found this place thank you Jeremy from Olympus paddleboards for the heads up. Paddle board house has a couple of good people there even though they lied to my face I guess it's all about business. I guess Integrity don't mean shit to them. I have been going to the Paddle House for paddle board rentals since they first opened. I have tried other local paddle board rentals in the area and continue to use the Paddle House because I feel they are best in town. The staff is friendly, if you paddle a lot they have a great membership deal of $99 per month which allows you to paddle as much as you want. At a normal rental rate of $35 for 1.5 hours the $99 is kind of a no brainer. They have a wide variety of boards to choose from for both rental and for purchase as well as offering storage for those who own there own boards and they sell all types of products to make the paddling experience even better. The only negative things I would have to say is I wish they were open 7 days a week rather than just being open Tues. thru Sun. and it would be nice if they would open at 8 rather than 9 during the week. For anyone that is a first timer to paddling or a experienced paddler I would highly recommend checking them out. read more

They have lockers, a clean bathroom, free coffee and water and friendly and professional instructors who will help you have the best time on a paddle board. I have used these guys twice for a bachelor party and an outing with friends and it was a blast both times. My wife and I were looking for stand up paddle board lesson. Wow! It was so much better than we were expecting. I highly recommend getting a lesson versus just renting a board for your first time. King harbor is the perfect place for first timers because it's super flat and calm. Alexandra, our instructor who was awesome super relaxed and really took her time. We both were able to standup pretty quickly and took us to parts we wouldn't of gone if we're on our own. I was feeling more and more comfortable so she was able to push me and even got me to go out to open ocean water out to the bouy. Active duty military, tried to take my puppy paddle boarding and rented from this business. My boyfriend didn't even want to paddle board but the guy at the front desk said two people couldn't rent one paddle board so he made us rent two. Once we got on the boards our dog freaked out and got really scared. We were on the boards for maybe 10-15min and turned back around because we couldn't calm her down. Asked if we could get a refund for the two hours and the guy straight up said no. I understand they're trying to keep their business going, but come on. We were nice and respectful and under the circumstances, they should've been kind enough to give us a refund. Waste of $65. These people only care about money. Just know that before you choose to rent from them. Very disappointed. read more

I was admiring their skateboard racks way from the outside of the store Saturday afternoon. I was really impressed with their collection and almost caught up in the moment enough to buy one for myself despite me having way too many already, UNTIL this rude guy came out and stood in front of me with his hands on his hips and stared me down. He said not a word, just rudely stared me down right in front of my kids and my friend. He acted like I was going to steal one of the skateboards from 15 feet away. Totally ruined it for me and I decided they don't deserve my money. I don't understand what kind of customer service that is or how they expect to make money without even trying to greet potential customers.
