This was easily the worst place I've been in France. We walked in to an empty restaurant (which should have been the sign to walk out) and the employees were busy in conversation. Within a minute or two of us standing there they sat us and brought over food menus, no wine menus. We selected 4 plates and waited for the server to return.
Seriously, about 5 minutes later, in an empty restaurant, she returned and I said we were ready to order but she said we had no wine menu and she would return. She then told us, while waiting for the wine menu to be written (no joke) that two of the wines on the counter were €6 each.
When she finally returned with the wine menu another 5 minutes later we ordered the two €6 glasses (checkov's gun, obviously) and the four plates. We had discussed leaving before we ordered and should definitely have done so.
The first two dishes that came out were croquettes and a "perfect egg" (their words, not mine). The croquettes were small and not as creamy as they should be. I should mention we just came from Barcelona so we were familiar with the dish. The "perfect egg" was undercooked. White and runny, acceptable; clear, unacceptable.
The next two that came out were guinea fowl and risotto. The risotto was good, the first potato I tried with the fowl was uncooked in the center. When the server came to check i said the potato was uncooked and she said "oh, that's too bad." Sure came back shortly and said they checked the rest and they were cooked which isn't exactly the response we were looking for.
We asked to pay the check and when it came she said they had removed one glass of wine from the bill. Last I remembered the problem was with the fowl, not the wine, so why she didn't remove the fowl is beyond me except it was more expensive. The other glass of wine was €7, completely unsurprisingly.
This place basically ruined Paris for us. I cannot strongly enough recommend against going here. read more
