When in Sitges a man can't live on tapas and pintxos alone. Well, he can but when a wicked craving sets in there's only one thing to do, search Yelp. After spending the morning at Balmins Beach I had a craving for Thai food in the biggest way. Score, found Pad Thai and I was on my way.
Just so you know Pad Thai is more of a take-away kind of place, so don't expect table service. You order and pay at the counter then wait for your food to be ready. The space is so small you can stand right there and watch your food being cooked before your eyes. That's pretty cool. As for service, it wasn't particularly friendly but was efficient. She could have cared less if we were there or not, however the woman cooking was super nice.
I ordered several dishes from their small but decent menu and I was on my way. There is a small public space with benches if you wanted to eat there. However I had sand in places you do not want to know about so I headed back to my apartment.
Dishes ordered:
Pad Thai (of course) with Chicken, Prawns and Tofu. It's usually a one or the other situation but I opted for all three as that's how I roll. Nice chewy noodles, good balance between sweet, sour, salty and spicy. Excellent version.
Som Tam with Sticky Rice. Was really good. Im glad that didn't use dried shrimp or mud crabs. So light and refreshing, really was a great counter point to my spicy noodles.
Pad Thai only stays open until 10:30 so no late night post bar foods. Though do what I did, order an extra plate of noodles and save for after the bars. Happy eating! read more
