Pad Thai (with chicken and shrimp)

Nice looking, relaxing Asian theme decor. Staff was very friendly and always checking customers with eye contact! The food menu had lots of choices with color photos of the meals. Had the Pad Thai, spice level was mild and just right. Dish sizes were plentiful and delicious. Served with Thai Iced Tea and topped off with a coconut ice cream for dessert (which I swear tasted home made, loved it).

This is the second Thai restaurant I've tried since moving to the city. This place had BY FAR the better spices and flavors. If I order take out again for Thai, will be calling Pad Thai Restaurant. I had the pad see ew and the portion size was good, food was warm when it was delivered, and it tasted great!

Had dinner at Pad Thai after reading good reviews online. It was amazing! Cute little restaurant in a residential area in a strip center. Indoor decor is pretty. Nice vibes. Great service. Every dish was delicious and we would come back again if I ever visit Calgary again. 5/5 Drunken Prawns - shrimp with eggplant 5/5 Pad Thai with chicken tofu and shrimp 5/5 Chu chi basa - battered fish with curry sauce

Hubby and I had a really amazing date night here; I'd say this was the best Thai food I've eaten in a long time! Although the interior decor is fairly nice, some of the booths need to be reupholstered. Our servers were friendly, efficient, and informative. In addition to being a good restaurant for couples, this place is family friendly and can also accommodate diners with nut allergies. Tom Yum Goong: we started with this delicious, smooth soup with perfectly cooked shrimp, brown mushrooms and grape tomatoes. I loved the creamy coconut milk broth with a slight hint of lemongrass. Pineapple Fish: the lightly battered basa pieces had just the right amount of crunch and was wonderfully complemented with the sweet pineapple sauce. The sauce also pairs well with coconut rice. Coconut Rice: one order (16 ounces) is enough for two people. Drunken Prawns: a wonderful combination of smoked ground chili and peanuts with stir fried eggplant. The chili sauce enhanced(and did not overpower) the flavour of the prawns and the eggplant. I also enjoyed eating the tails(shell included) of the prawns; they were so crispy. Unfortunately, we were too full to have dessert. We will definitely bring our son on our next visit here!

"I would never stop here." - my brother, commenting on the exterior Thanks to Yelp, we did! :D (The backstory was we needed a place to eat that seemed good but wasn't too fancy. Also, we were close to our data limit to we only had a few Yelp searches available. Let's continue.) Pad Thai Restaurant is probably the most direct name for what is inside. Imagine if McDonald's was "French Fries and $5 20pc McNuggets" or White Castle was "Free Toilet Paper Roll Included with Purchase.". So yes, there is Pad Thai in Pad Thai restaurant. Overall, we walked into a decent ambiance. The layout is a little disjointed, but every table was filled with (seemingly) happy people. We were seated and ordered our Thai favorites. Chicken Pad See Ew, Pandan Chicken, Drunken Prawns. [Oops, I don't think we got the Pad Thai here. Mistakes were made.] Overall, everything was pretty good so I would say, order away and if you're looking for inspiration, then consider getting what we did! At the end of the meal, the owner came out and thanked us for visiting (we must have really stood out as tourists haha.) She visits the Bay Area every now and then if you're local here, and overall was a pleasure to be her guest.

We'd been wanting to try this place for quite some time, and finally decided to go for a Friday night dinner date. So glad we did! Started with the Tom Yum Goong soup, then for entrees we shared Drunken Prawns and the Pineapple Fish (Basa), with a side of coconut rice. It was all so flavourful, I wanted to lick the plates! Service was friendly, upbeat, and efficient. We will be back!

Do yourself a favour.. This is $107 worth of their food. Take your hot date on 4 separate dates for Viet... Such a friggen rip off....
    Mike F.

Spent $107 on food for delivery. You can get 4 times as much food at a Viet place for way better quality and taste. It may have tasted good but for the price don't even bother. Biggest rip off.

My favourite Thai place in the city. The Pad Thai is scrumptious and service is outstanding. The building doesn't look like much but the inside is very nice and welcoming. It is extremely clean, right down to the glassware (not a speck or smudge).

Chef Patcharin makes authentic Thai food, with freshly ground spices. Standouts were our grilled chicken cold rolls, and masaman curry.

When I walked in, I was both skeptical and kind of in awe at the same time. It felt like I walked into a movie set or a Christmas themed museum or something. There are so many decorations up but it also kind of just works. The first thing I'll bring up is the spice level. The spice levels are pretty similar to the true Thai spice levels. A hot level was giving me a good sweat while medium was just enough to burn the tongue a bit. The food itself was adequately described as authentic and delicious. The papaya salad in particular was very similar to the ones I've tried in Thailand. Great portion size and ratio between papaya and the other vegetables. It was absolutely delicious. The other reason why this restaurant is awesome is the customer service. From when I walked in to when I left, the server and who seemed like the manager or owner made sure everyone there was taken care of and didn't have to wait long for anything. I will definitely come back here when I visit Calgary again!

I had the green curry, which was fine, but I have had better in many other places. My daughter ordered the vegetable fried rice, and when the server read the order back he said Pad Thai, and we corrected him...and she got tofu Pad Thai. She hates it when we have to say something when something goes wrong so she ate the Pad Thai, and you could tell while she didn't complain, she didn't love it. Wife had cashew chicken and ate every bite, and the teen boy had drunken noodles, which he devoured. Overall an okay experience, with some bumps. I'd give it a try again.

We ordered three entrees: the chicken fried rice, the basil beef, and the drunken chicken. Just know that if you want rice, you must pay for it separately that's why we got fried rice. All the dishes were mild by default, but when we asked for heat, they brought out a cute little platter of hot sauces which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, while the service was friendly and attentive, the food itself was just average. Everything could've used a bit more seasoning and flavor punch. If you're looking for solid Thai food in a laid-back setting with good service, it's worth checking out, but don't expect to be blown away.
