We paid our reasonable hourly rate plus materials used at the end of each move. Ask for Kelvin and his crew. They made the emotional event of moving less stressful. Movers worked hard but they seemed they just wanted to get the job done and get their check. You can find many other better options. Movers" is, by far, the most arrogant, asinine, childishly silly, and mathematically challenged moving company I've ever encountered ... in my life. They seriously imagine we're supposed to submit to them a detailed list of the items being moved and apparently they think they can "calculate" what they want to use (i.e., what they want to charge you), not what you actually need. If you've moved before and added/subtracted certain types of items (e.g., appliances, larger or smaller sofa, gaming computer), then you pretty much know how much more/less truck space you'll need as compared to the last move. Worse, their expectation is that you'll be perfectly okay with them separating all your possessions ... that you'll NEED in your new home ... and storing them behind their fence somewhere and you'll just sit in your empty house without the ability to start organizing, cooking, cleaning, etc. It's utterly insane that anyone thinks that's a reasonable methodology. Every other moving company I called bases the move off the truck(s) that will be needed, yet this one somehow escaped from la-la land and bases the move off an "item count", lol. When I clarified that, YES, you can know what you need based off prior moves, the guy said "Oh, it doesn't work that way". No, sweetie ... YOU won't be working that way, not today, and not with me.

I moved across multiple states in mid-June 2020…read more The good: everyone I interacted with was very friendly and polite. The bad: They over-promised on the "usual" delivery time frame. The person on the phone gave a rather confident estimate of 1 week and that they do that route often. It took double that time, which was still within the guaranteed time frame but given my conversation on the phone, I had made other plans contingent on a 1 week delivery estimate. Also, once I was booked with them, it was not easy to get a response via email or phone after leaving a voice message with the original person I spoke on the phone with to make changes or have questions answered. The ugly: They broke my bookshelf in transit and lost the screws to my TV stand. We put the TV stand and screws into a separate box. Upon arrival, the mover walked in with just the TV stand in hand, and no box (and no screws). I am still waiting for the claim to be processed. Overall, friendly over phone and email. Transparent pricing and breakdown. The actual moving was meh. They definitely talk the talk, but they didn't really walk the walk with me.

They were incredibly efficient with their time, handled all of my items with great care, and maintained a high level of professionalism throughout the entire process. Great people, great value and actually came back a little under what they had originally quoted me even after staying a little longer than planned to install our frame TV! I cannot recommend them enough. If you're looking for a reliable, professional, and genuinely caring moving team, ask for Keith and Luis. 5 stars all the way.

I reached out to multiple people on Yelp and had the top 3 companies come out for a consultation. I ended up hiring Move It On Up because they gave me a competitive bid and frankly just seemed more confident in their ability to do the job. We needed to split the move over two days because we wanted to leave our house staged to sell. The first move, they arrived with 4 people and a truck and got to work packing everything. The girls packed and Keith and Luis moved everything to the truck. They literally ran everywhere they went from 8am-5:30pm. The move went perfect and they finished in the exact time they had estimated in the initial walk through. Not a thing broke in the move. For the second move, it was a week later and it was all of the remaining furniture. Keith, Luis and one other guy showed up with a truck at 8am. They moved everything out again in the exact amount of time they had estimated. They were running the whole time like on day one! When it was all said and done, I owed him the exact amount that he had quoted me for the whole move. Everything made it safely to the old house and we were extremely happy with the service provided. I will recommend Move It On Up to anyone I talk to that is looking for movers!

It had been 10 years since my last move and while I loved my previous mover (Breda), they couldn't help me out with long-distance move. I will be the first to admit that I am high-maintenance when it comes to my stuff. I'm not some college kid with a studio full of IKEA. I am a grown-up, with a B&B Italia sofa and a burgeoning art collection. I am more than willing to pay for the careful transport of my belongings. The question was, who do I trust? After doing the research on the "pod" companies (Red Box, Smart Box, PODS, etc.) it was clear that for my needs, PODS was the way to go (stay tuned for a review on them once my interstate move is completed). Because you can't park a PODS unit on a major city street, you need a 3rd party mover to load and then reload your stuff. PODS has an exclusive relationship with EMS Movers. Now, I liked what I read about EMS on Yelp...but I didn't like the fact that they estimate your move over the phone; they don't come out in person. Everything I read about how to have a successful move said to run, not walk from a company that won't look at your stuff in person. Hence, my dilemma... Enter Jason at EMS Movers. This guy is 5 stars all the way...patient, reassuring, knowledgeable and did I say patient? Seriously, I've worked in customer service and Jason is an MVP! EMS is lucky to have him. I'll spare you the drama of my move. Suffice it to say, Chris and his crew did a terrific job packing and moving my belongings. They were even able to fit it all in to one container (as opposed to the 2 I expected to need)...that's another benefit to having professionals pack your stuff. Jason, you rock my man! I will happily refer EMS to everyone for a problem-free move. Thanks again!

Our experience with this company was extremely frustrating. The actual movers themselves were very…read morenice and respectful. Our issues were primarily with the scheduling, communication, billing, and how the situation was handled by Erika, who is also an owner. Erika scheduled our move for the wrong day and then disputed what had originally been agreed upon. I have the text messages showing the date and hours that were discussed, so there is written documentation of those conversations. Instead of acknowledging the scheduling issue, she repeatedly changed details, talked over me, blamed me for the confusion, and at one point threatened to have the movers stop working before eventually hanging up on me. Because of the scheduling error, our move had to be rescheduled for the following day. Even on the rescheduled day, the movers arrived approximately an hour late. While the movers themselves were nice, the overall experience had already been made much more difficult by the scheduling mistake and continued delays. There was also a significant difference between the estimate we were given and the final amount we were charged. Erika provided an estimate of approximately $655, but our final total was $1,080, even after the company deducted one hour from the bill. That is a difference of more than $400 from the original estimate. The one-hour deduction was presented as though the company was doing us a favor, when in reality the move had already been disrupted because Erika scheduled us for the wrong day. We were also told that the time was rounded up because that was company policy, yet I have not been able to find anywhere in the information provided to us where that policy was disclosed. When I tried to get clarification about the timing and how the move would be completed, I was told additional labor time might need to be added and that the rain could affect what they were able to do. At the end of the move, we were asked to check our belongings for damage. However, many items were still wrapped and could not reasonably be inspected at that time. We were also placed in the position of knowing that if the movers stayed while we unwrapped everything to inspect it properly, we could potentially be charged for additional time. That does not provide a realistic opportunity for a customer to thoroughly inspect their belongings before the movers leave. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Based on our experience, the way the business was handled felt misleading and lacked transparency, particularly with the scheduling, billing, undisclosed rounding policy, and the major difference between the estimate and final charge. The entire experience left us feeling that important information was not communicated clearly or upfront.

I was assigned Jimmy, Anderson, and Jose, and from the beginning, they were patient, professional, and understanding. When we arrived at my storage facility, we were met with something completely unexpected, my belongings had been severely damaged due to an infestation at the storage facility. I was unaware of the situation and was completely shocked to discover that rats had destroyed many of my personal belongings. The movers explained that because of the extent of the damage and infestation, they could not safely pack everything. Despite the circumstances, the team showed incredible compassion and understanding. Knowing I was already overwhelmed especially being pregnant and dealing with such a stressful situation they still did everything they could to help salvage and move what was possible. Unfortunately, some items had to be left behind because the damage was simply too severe. I was moving from Southwest Houston to the Galveston area, nearly an hour away, and despite the unexpected delays and challenges, the team worked quickly to load, transport, and unload my belongings at my new apartment. What stood out most was their kindness at the end of the move. I came up short on the remaining balance due to everything that had happened unexpectedly, and they showed empathy and allowed me to pay what I had available at the time. That level of understanding meant more to me than I can put into words. This move was one of the most stressful experiences I've had, but Jimmy, Anderson, and Jose showed professionalism, patience, and genuine compassion throughout the entire process. I truly appreciate everything they did for me.
