I'm overdue on a rave review for Pacifica Acupuncture! I was referred to the clinic by my pain management doctor, and initially I was hesitant to try acupuncture. I wasn't sure if it would really help my pain. Phil was, and is, really easy and great to work with. At my first appointment I was taking pain medication daily, doing PT, and limping around with hip pain all day every day.After my first treatment I noticed a decrease in pain, and I steadily improved! After a few regular treatments, I'm doing much better, and now only make appointments for maintenance. The office is cozy and soothing. Acupuncture has been almost painless. I've also seen their massage therapist, Rebecca, a few times, and she is great as well! read more

It's been over 8 years since I first went to see Phil for carpal tunnel/repetitive injury in my hand. I also went to Phil a few years ago for work related injuries in both my hands. Both times I had relief after the first visit and full relief after the 2nd. Fast forward to yesterday, I went to see Phil for extreme pain in my left hip and knee that's been going on for a few months. Four years ago, I went to go see Phil with some serious lower back pain. The pain was debilitating and often kept from doing activities I wanted to do, and in some cases kept me from working. I had tried everything including chiropractic doctors, my primary care doc, physical therapy, and even cortizone shots, but nothing worked. After spending some time with Phil, I noticed improvement in my back. As I kept seeing him, my back improved more and more. My back is now almost completely healed. I still have very minor pain from time to time if I exert myself too much, but I'm able to do ALL of the activities I want to do, and my work is no longer inhibited. Hi, so this review is a long time coming. My name is Dr. Nathan Morello and I unfortunately had a Mallory Weiss tear a couple years ago and because of that I had to be on a liquid diet for a couple of months. My digestion slowed to an absolute crawl and then to nothing. I tried everything at Walgreens but (not to be too graphic) nothing was coming out. Having had previous successful experiences with acupuncture, I knew that it was the right treatment needed for a problem that I was having with hip pain/tightness. This place is amazing! The reviews are 100% on point. I used Yelp to find this hidden gem, as I was experiencing some serious Jaw pain and ear fullness (TMJ). I had seen numerous specialists, dentists, orthodontist, etc, and prescribed a TON of meds which only made my body feel terrible. After a few visits with Phil my pain lessened and the annoying fullness in my ear slowly went away. I cannot say enough about Phil. He puts his patients at ease with his honest, caring, approachable, and humorous demeanor. His knowledge and experience make him more effective than any other acupuncturist I've seen. Phil rescued me from a world of physical and emotional pain. My sessions several times a week were the only thing that provided relief from severe cervical pain when drugs and cortisone injections didn't cut it. Unfortunately I've had to go to this place for the past year to deal with my back problems. They helped me avoid surgery. Granted, back stuff takes forever to heal but they did a great job. Kate was my primary massage therapist and I cant say enough good about her. She fixed me. Forever grateful for that. Shes mostly at serenity now in Oakland and I will be following her there if I need work in the future. Also used Phil's services once or twice but I was too much of a baby for his release therapy. Even though it did work really well. Through my injury I tried a bunch of places looking for help, by far and away they were the best. read more

AWESOME Massage- I had my 1st massage w/Jodi yesterday & it was sooo unique. I've never had a massage therapist give me a consultation before disrobing & ask my health conditions & explain her technique. Her massages are a wonderful combination of medical treatment-total pampering-to a spiritual reflection. My arms & shoulders really felt unwound & relaxed & not becuz someone was digging into them for an hour. My advice- don't willy-nilly w/a one-hour appt. Go for the two-hour. It's well worth it. Phil is THE BEST! Since the birth of my son 5 years ago, I began having severe back pain which often left me unable to walk or bend for a few days. I also suffered from hormonal hot flashes. With consistent treatment, maybe twice a month, I have been receiving acupuncture and taking herbs. Phil is amazing. I've been seeing him for about a year and a half now, and he has helped me so much. I have a condition called thoracic outlet syndrome, which is a rare and debilitating condition that affects your nerves and muscles. There really is no cure for what I have, except for surgery, but Phil's treatments have helped me manage my pain so much. For my first treatment, I went in and Phil spent a long time talking to me and examining me to figure out the right course of action. I mentioned to him that I also had extremely painful periods, but that we could deal with that during another treatment. The treatment itself was Extremely relaxing and calmed down my entire nervous system, which had been buzzing for months. He gave me some herbs, to help with my cramps. No lie, I never had a single painful period again. Ever. My cramps were getting so bad that I would literally be curled up in bed crying on the first day of my period. Now, no period Pain whatsoever. That was enough to convince me! I continued to see Phil twice a week for over a year until I had my surgery. He helped me feel better with every single treatment. I will never go anywhere else. Occasionally, Phil goes out of town, and when he does I see Linda who is also wonderful. I have had many successful treatments from her as well. Phil found out what was wrong with me on the first visit! I had been trying to find out what why I felt so dizzy, tired and short of breath most of the time for YEARS. Every doctor I saw took one look at me and said that I was healthy and not to worry about it. It was SO frustrating! Then, I went in to Phil for fertility acupuncture (after trying to conceive for 2 years), and he told me that I had symptoms of very low blood pressure. Wow! He advised me to check it out with a cardiologist and sure enough! The only thing the cardiologist told me to do was eat more salt. What?! Phil started me out on chinese herbs and in 3 weeks I felt better than ever AND I was pregnant within 2 months!
