One of the best Coworking locations in Sacramento! I used this coworking space for four months…read morewhile I was studying for an exam. The daily coffee and snacks were perfect and great! The owners are friendly and extremely helpful. I had the 24/7 access membership and it was perfect. I was able to study late and on weekends. I highly recommend this location if you are in need a location to work for the day or for a long period. Well worth the investment!

Adorable Art Exhibit Experience…read more SITREP Can I use the word "adorable" to describe a coworking space? It was a fun chance to meet up with my lovely long time friend (and fellow Yelper) Karin B. and enjoy the creative passions of the Stranger Things world of marvels, which Karin is a large promoter for! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/outlet-coworking-sacramento?select=Wzn0wn519RmQQD6rS9Q8NA THE SETUP Props to Outlet Coworking for supporting the local art community with providing a much needed space for the exhibition of the works. This particular night was No. 2 - a week later than No. 1 - which provided a great fundraising opportunity for the artists and supporters of the Netflix show "Stranger Things" mentioned above - a community based in part here in Sacramento. It was only $5 (suggested donation - not coerced at all - which is why I gave $10) to enjoy the beauty of the local artists! LAYOUT The art work was on two levels. You enter the ground floor where a wonderful variety of mediums are used, from sculpture, prints, water colors, collages, etc. It was all over the board. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/outlet-coworking-sacramento?select=10Ap7gO5o8-qtwtvskNKVA There was even a mock prop of a lighted helmet that everyone seemed to enjoy trying on, including yours truly! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/outlet-coworking-sacramento?select=Q4wPvaF-pAwF8D9jLyofAw The second upstairs level was a nice chill environment, even with a comfortable living room-like viewing set-up to watch episodes of Stranger Things! It was a lot of fun to relax and chat with the Stranger Things community of artists & participants. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/outlet-coworking-sacramento?select=ugP2eceRO33MLfFGMMmDoQ THE LOWDOWN It is always a fun time to catch the local artists and the community of supporters when coworking businesses like Outlet open their doors!

An Event Space That Has Movie Nights! And Art! And Food! And Beer! BEEER!…read more SITREP Capsity is a great event space that allows for a variety of business activities to take place. It allows for the pooling of resources amongst many individuals so that the costs of doing business - especially for start-ups - can be greatly reduced. This also provides for an invaluable sharing of experiences between different business owners and entrepreneurs to share their talents with each other. SETUP Both Jeff & Ricardo, the managers / owners of this business, are exceptional "salesmen" as he sells this whole concept of a "beehive". When speaking to Jeff about how this promotes business in Sacramento, it's really a lot of fun and makes a lot of sense how the Office-Hosting concept and Business-Networking take place. PROMOTION In getting the words about Capsity, Yelp has been playing a bit of a role too by making many individuals aware of the capacity and the opportunities presented by Capsity through some fun activities. Already, Capsity has played host to two (2) separate monthly Community Manager Yelp Event (CMYEs) Movie Nights, featuring "Hamlet 2" on Night #1 back in February, and then "I Married An Axe Murderer" this past week. This provides another great, fun social-networking opportunity with the good people at Capsity. THE LOWDOWN Capsity is an energetic, comprehensivie, networkable business site that can help any start-up get their feet wet, as well as a wonderful event-space to host some great social-networking opportunities as well.

Victim Location 92882 Type of a scam Government Agency…read moreImposter I received a yellow official looking envelope that resembles tax documents with a form 501-LLC (January 2022) to my business address addressed to my business name stating that I need to mail a check for $243 to Corporate Processing Service 836 57th St, Suite 490, Sacramento, CA 95819-3327. It states that I need to respond no later than March 15, 2022 and "Statutory filing provisions are found in California Corporations Code Section 17060, unless otherwise indicated. Failure to file the Statement of Information by the DUE DATE will result in the assessment of a $250.00 penalty which will be assessed by the California Franchise Tax Board, Corporations Section 1765(b) and 17653; Revenue and Taxaction Code Section 19141." As you can see, the document sounds very official and has the same formatting as a tax document when you see it. It has areas where it states that it is not a government agency but the bolded sections of the document all point to penalties, due dates, due amount, and other items. There is an item at the bottom of the front page that states "this is not a bill. This is a solicitation." However, I am afraid that others will be fooled by this and I already know people that have just started businesses that have been fooled by these scams. The document looks very misleading because of all the busy fine print one would customarily find on tax forms and government notices. The back of the document even has instructions that look just like tax forms. I knew this was not a government letter only because my business manager had already advised me that my statement of information for 2022 was already filed earlier this year. Lockout Music Studios - artists studio

Lockout Music Studios

Hey, and Yea'h to Lockout Studios, for providing dedicated workspace for art. Being in a space that…read moreis by definition, deemed 'Caution: Artist Workzone Up Ahead' is liberating. My progress had stalled working at home. Vocal warmups, ear training, time-in for composition, experimenting at volume, etc. 'just never worked well' at home. Similarly, being 'out on an island' renting commercial space within earshot of contractors, accounting offices, chiropractic, etc - would inevitably result in me having to accommodate, rearrange schedules, set-up tear-down my gear, compromising... I don't feel alone and out numbered, but I also feel understood and respected when I and my art need some distance. Please, keep doing what you guys are doing because I have something to say, something to add to the state of the art. Thanks so much, Lockout Studios. Charles P

I moved in February 1st, excited to start my journey back to music…read more I knew I was going to miss a couple weeks, and ended up moving in late on February. The first night, I already could tell this was a waste of money. I was sandwiched between two loud producers, one of which a non-black rapper constantly saying the n word in his music. He also said it outside in the hall. (A white man) I am a lifelong musician, loud rehearsal neighbors aren't new to me- but what bothers me is that this studio is not actually a studio. They are office buildings. There is absolutely NO noise isolation and to top that off, the door I had was broken. After 5 min of my walls rumbling from both sides with absolutely no insulation to soften the blow, so loud my head was throbbing - I realized the lockout owners were likely cash grabbers with no passion for sound. Very different from Sac Rehearsal and the other one off El Camino where you at least get SOME LEVEL of isolation and professional attempts at noise reduction. On top of that- I was offered a tour with a measly $100 off my next room selection. When I attempted to reschedule the tour, their only available hours to do so were 10A-2:45P, Mon-Fri, which as you might expect - will not work for 90% of people who can afford rehearsal studios. When I finally was able to schedule a time, they canceled for a family emergency and rebooked for Monday the 24th, leaving me a measly 7 days of a potential rehearsal experience. When I brought this to their attention, they nastily retorted, "well you've had access to the space the whole time!" A space with no noise isolation that is entirely impossible to think in, let alone rehearse in. Save your money- even if you're a mile away like I am, it's better to go to House of Hits. Even Sac Rehearsal. The only benefit of this place is the "safe" location- but it's really built with no regards to musicians and the customer service is built equally as shitty.

Midtown

Just inappropriate behavior and charging for offices you never leased…read more The space itself is actually kind of nice, and some of the staff were pleasant. However, their billing system and management is beyond repair and needs an entire overhaul. Longer story below, but I rented an office, was up to date on payments and deposit, and they cut my access off mid month claiming that I owed them $4k for an office I never leased (or technically leased for a single day since they let me switch offices and ensured that I wouldn't have to pay for it - all in writing). The entire thing was confusing, because I couldn't make sense of their invoices. All I know is I paid my deposit and monthly lease amount for the office I rented. I shouldn't have a $4k bill outstanding, especially when I only had 1 more month left on my lease (with was only $1k per month). I was going to rent a bigger office, decided last minute to do a smaller one, and was told that's fine (I have written evidence). They then proceeded to charge me for both offices and told me not to worry about those invoices for now and that they would get settled. They gave me credit for some of them, but then still wanted almost $2k for a deposit (in addition to my actual deposit that was already paid) for an office that I never rented. Then they charged me a bunch of late fees for invoices I was told not to pay yet. When we tried to clear it up via email, they were rude, not helpful and non-explanatory. Then they cut my access off despite having been up-to-date on payments and deposit for the actual office I had.

The staff goes above and beyond to create a welcoming and productive atmosphere. I am always greeted with warmth and professionalism when I arrive. The communal spaces are thoughtfully designed and I enjoy using them when I need a change of scenery while staying in the building. It fosters collaboration and creativity among fellow professionals whom I have had the pleasure to interact with. While the pricing in my opinion is a bit on the higher side, the quality of services an amenities provided its what keeps our company around. I would recommend this space to anyone who is looking for a vibrant co-working environment.
