In a little nook in Maroubra Junction there lies a plaza lined by a little garden fountain. Billy's Bar Espresso greets you at the entrance with a well made coffee, especially for the middle of the suburbs. Wafts from Garlo Pies and Maranello's Woodfired Pizza tempts you to stay for lunch. Instead, you could always get some take away from the glorious Fish Market which offers fresh fish daily. There's some asian options of Japanese and Wok Masters where you could buy a whole duck to take home or just the usual noodle dishes.
Inside the shopping centre there is a plethora of stores to make this an all-in-one destination. Priceline, Coles, Aldi and Bakers Delight, to drop a few big names. Alas, there are also some specialty shops to make it that little bit distinct.
There is a gorgeous deli run by some lovely Europeans and they have imported goods not found at your average supermarket. The butcher is old school and the steak exceptional quality. The fruit market is great for fresh produce and I feel I am doing the locals a favour when I take the time to visit each individual store rather than do all of my shopping at Coles.
It is open late on Thursday's and sometimes they have jazz music to entertain you in the courtyard.
