Stopped by yesterday for lunch; I ordered sweet tea, a bowl of wonton soup and the orange beef. I have to say that the wonton soup was the best I've ever had & isn't the usual clear bland broth. The portion was huge for $5 if I recall correctly, the orange beef was sized down a bit for lunch. I'm not a big fan of sweet entrées so I won't be able to compare this orange beef to any other but I enjoyed the crispness of the beef that I encountered here and there and the flavors were good. I'm going back to try something else this evening and I will enjoy it I'm sure. The staff is also very attentive and Andy (?) Is very talkative and friendly even though he was clearly tired when I was there it didn't affect his good nature. read more

This is absolutely the best restaurant in town the Asian nachos are an incredible starter that atmosphere is completely different on the inside from the outside. A very rustic feel from the outside with the elegant decor and higher end dining inside. Great selection of different teas incredible made from scratch food. take out from there is incredible because they separate the food so that it stays fresh and crispy all the way to your home their delivery fee is very low and whether dining in or to go you're going on a flavor adventure there is absolutely nothing bland about this place. exciting, vibrant and refreshing!!! The service is phenomenal and they even have a private dining room.! A great place to take family or a date! Romantic ambience. Very original dishes as well as traditional. We absolutely LOVE Pacific Rim for their convenience and delivery hustle. They are the Jimmy John's of the Asian delivery in Amarillo - FREAKY FAST! We understand that when we don't want to go out, delivery will incur a fee - no biggie for us. Food is always on spot and we love their online ordering feature. They allow you to build your own stir fry dish, which is actually a lot of fun, and comes out the way you want it every single time. You get a nice discount for ordering online but you have to remember to add the cart when finishing the ordering process, so DON'T FORGET! Although their Asian fusion fare is very very good, always fresh and hot and correct (and oh yeah, the portions are ridiculously generous), I tend to prefer a little more authentic leaning cuisine when I can find it. Although good, the Rim's recipes tend to be a little more "Americanized." It's the ONLY reason the Rim doesn't get that 5th star. But then again I am quite discerning and don't throw around the 5-star ratings very often. read more

It's OK. The delivery is great and fast, though they do charge for it. What I like most about this place is that they do not use MSG and they grow their own veggies for the most part. I haven't tried the fusion food, which seems to be where it's at. However, I have had the general tso's chicken, which was way sweeter than I'm used to and had no spice to it; the crab rangoon, which was average; and the philly cheese steak, because I couldn't believe this place carried American food, and it was...well it was flavored right, but the bread was old and crumbly and the meat was...I don't know the texture was really bad. It sort of fell apart in uncomfortable crumbles rather than being chewy like steak meat is supposed to be. Hey, they deliver to my hotel for a nominal fee and the food is decent. I'm sold. read more

The Hawaiian ribeye was to die for! Have eaten there several times and tried several dishes and really enjoyed them all. Had the bananas and jackfruit plus icecream desert and it was outstanding. The food here is interesting and delicious. The chef takes good food and adds his special sauces that makes each dish extra ordinary. My wife had the vegetarian noodles and she said the sauce with the vegetables and noodles blended the flavors together perfectly. The service is friendly and prompt. The prices are great considering how good the food is. The atmosphere is elegant without being stuffy. read more

We are riding through Amarillo, but decided to stay here the night and we're in the mood for Asian food. Found this place and decided to try it since it wasn't too far from our hotel. Upon pulling up it looked a little sketch but once we were inside it was a pretty nice place. The food was delicious, and the waitress was sweet and quick to get us taken care of. Give it a try! Same owner has changed from a chinese buffet to a Asian Fusion classy restaurant. The ambiance has just the right amount of pacific palm and Japanese bamboo. One of those places I wish I remembered to eat at more often. Very good food; great staff; excellent prices! Today had the fried pot stickers as appetizer. Excellent light crunch on the outside with a mouth-watering ginger dipping sauce. Enough to share. I had the stir fry vegetable plate with fried rice. Made to order. Ordered the Combination Lo Mein and my wife did a build your own stir fry, also had a side of Crab Rangoon. Not the best Chinese I've ever had but definitely good for takeout. I have spent over $100 for an Asian Fusion meal for 2 that didn't compare to Pacific Rim. The atmosphere was quiet & relaxing, my husband has difficulty hearing & really enjoyed being able to hear our family. The service was superb, the staff was engaged & made good recommendations. Our food arrived quickly, hot, great flavor and unlike most delivery foods it wasn't just dumped in a container and served up. From its stylish and attractive décor, to its attentive and friendly service and to intrigue regarding the prospect of credible Asian fusion cuisine in the Texas Panhandle, I very much wanted to share a "gem-in-the-rough" review with my fellow Yelpers. The combination of beautiful setting and exceptionally welcoming staff had us comfortable and ready to enjoy a stellar mid-week dinner. My business colleague, a native Texan who had quickly learned to let me make the restaurant choices, was already flashing me the "thumbs-up." Unfortunately, the illusion fractured as soon as their menu was opened, and shattered at first taste. Make no mistake, Pacific Rim is a Sino-American ("Chinese") restaurant who has jumped upon the "Asian Fusion" bandwagon. Where true Asian Fusion skillfully and knowingly borrows ingredients and techniques across the frontier of Asian cuisines, and "wanna-be Asian Fusion" inserts a few dishes of borrowed Asian food into a predominant cuisine, Pacific Rim offered neither. Sure, there were a few daily specials which showed a higher level of cross-cultural melding, but nothing which sounded particularly appealing to either of us. Here the perception appears to be that adding a mango-accented dish and a curried dish (both are Asian touches) creates an avant garde Asian Fusion menu . . . I became quite skeptical when reading their menu. Reading further, however, turned skepticism into cynicism . . . cheese steaks, chicken Alfredo, WTF?? Does anyone else sense that this restaurant has an identity crisis? Okay, getting past the restaurant's clumsy efforts to be trendy, I dialed-in my taste buds for a Chinese meal. Despite some very good (and very varied) Thai, Indian, Japanese and Vietnamese restaurant fare to be enjoyed in Amarillo, passable Chinese food is a relative rarity. Searching the menu again for an entrée which (by menu description) appeared both genuinely Chinese and appealing, even that common-denominator criteria found little which was convincing. Selected were the orange chicken, broccoli beef and shrimp fried rice, with agreement reached with my colleague that we would be sharing plates. What arrived at our table was certainly abundant in portion, and evident of the kitchen's aptitudes in presentation and plating. Across-the-board, the Pacific Rim renditions of these classic Sino-American dishes lacked a convincing umami character, or depth of flavor. The orange chicken, dry-coated in under-seasoned corn starch before frying with orange rind to a crisp exterior, was the best dish of the three. The broccoli, said to be locally-grown by the restaurant, was toothsome and fresh before being bathed in a rather insipid Chinese brown sauce and paired with stir-fried beef. As for the shrimp fried rice, it was as bland as the brown sauce and, while generously graced with small shrimp and scrambled egg bits, was below the standards of credible "take-out quality." Speaking of take-out, Pacific Rim does deliver locally for a $3 surcharge. The front desk of our motel characterized their delivery service to be accurate and prompt, although we didn't see a need to sample their food a second time, and couldn't tell you first-hand. In summary, Pacific Rim is clearly neither Pan Asian nor Chinese in its kitchen preparations. I would personally describe the food as being localized Sino-American, perhaps a half-notch above what I have characterized as "take-out quality." Although abundant, relatively inexpensive (averaging about $22/person) and graced by a pleasant atmosphere and service, the food was simply not interesting or flavorful. Again, I wanted badly to uncover a stellar Chinese restaurant during my six weeks in Amarillo. While I can't profess to have tried more than a few, personally I would stick to the Chinese dishes at Bangkok Tokyo. read more

We ordered delivery and the customer service and delivery time were very good. But, the food was terrible, it had absolutely no flavor. We ordered the Kung Pao Chicken, Combination Pancit, and the China Town. Other than being extremely spicy, the Kung Pao had no discernable flavor. The egg rolls were alright, but nothing special. Me and my husband drive a semi truck and decided to stay over night at a hotel and they had recommended this place. We ordered and the delivery was fast. But, the food was AWFUL.. the quality and the quantity we received was not worth $10 let alone $28.. the food was dry and look like it came dRom a box. We will never order from there again. Great local Asian Fusion sauces on classic Asian dishes. Each order made fresh from scratch. Menu has good variety of American foods too so there is something for everyone. We discovered the Pacific Rim a couple of years ago. Andy and his staff are friendly. Try the stir fry your way. I've had about 5 different combinations and all were good, but it's a lot of food.
