I wanted to use my previous roofer who did the other half but he went completely dark on me, so I found 5 Star Roofing. Before the job: Michael came out quickly to provide the bid which was competitive and clearly explained the process. He was able to schedule me in quicker than the competition and provided excellent communication before the work started. During the job: His team arrived on time each day, did excellent work, and were even able to match the color of the other half of the roof exactly. Each day, Michael came by to check on the work and answer my questions. Jenn, the office/project manager emailed each day as well. The crew cleaned up after themselves and made minimal disturbance while they worked. Josh even came out the next week to do some additional work we requested. Final results: We could not be happier. The work looks great and seamlessly matches the other half. Thank you 5 Star Roofing!

Alas, on the scheduled day and time, nobody showed up, and nobody contacted me. I called the office, and Jada said my job was not on their calendar. After she gave me multiple excuses for why Brian failed to show up "for my estimate", it was clear that they had scheduled another estimate and not the actual repair work, and then they didn't even show up for that. I would not recommend using this company.

Shawn also installed about 30 feet on gutter screens on an area subject to heavy leaf fall. My experience with Sacramento Storm Rain Gutter Service: On 1/25/23, the owner of Sacramento Storm…read moreRain Gutter Service came to our house to give an estimate to clean the gutters. We thought we had about 400 linear feet of gutter to clean. We learned later that we only had about half of that to clean as the house already had gutter guard on a lot of the 2nd story gutters. He charged $1,250 to clean the 200 linear feet that didn't already have gutter guards (more than half of his original quote as he said he couldn't just cut the original quote in half). We agreed after the cleaning to have them install gutter guards on the remaining 200 linear feet. On the day Sacramento Storm arrived to install the gutter guards, I asked the owner to show me what product they would be using; I told him that after I stayed up late doing research on the different types of gutter guards, I wanted the guard that had the raised embossed design consistent with GutterGlove's LeafBlaster Pro product. He went to the back of his truck and returned with an empty box of product with the raised pattern design and said that is what he would use (he later said he only showed that to me because I asked about it and that he did not say that is what he would be installing). I only came out a few times during the installation because the installers were throwing cut pieces of the guard from the roof which I had not been warned about, and when I did come out, I was surprised to see that the men were working from the 2nd story roof with no form of fall protection. I questioned during the install why the pieces were not tightly butted up against one another (I could see a lot of the guard from my second story windows), and the owner shouted to the man on the roof to (paraphrasing), 'put them as tight together as you can'. I had in my mind that butting them against each other would have been standard procedure per the installation instructions. When it was safe to come out after they were done (it took approximately three hours for the owner and his two employees to install the 200'), I asked if the product they were throwing off the roof was what they installed, and he said, "yes", referring to the standard DIY grade product you buy at home improvement stores, and not the Pro product that has the embossed raised pattern design and 40-year instead of 25-year manufacturer warranty. I would have asked sooner but it just didn't occur to me with my fear of being fallen on from the men on the roof when they were working above our courtyard. In checking with the manufacturer of the installed product, Gutterglove, they said that neither the owner nor Sacramento Storm Rain Gutter Service were one of their certified installers. I paid an additional $4,350 to Sacramento Storm for the DIY grade gutter guards, for a total with cleaning of $5,600., or $28 per linear foot. Some photos of install attached. In my opinion, I did not get the product I was promised nor the quality installation job I thought I was paying for. My recommendations: Know how many linear feet you need so you can determine their price per linear foot; check if they are manufacturer certified installers for the product they plan to install; ask if they comply with Cal-OSHA approved fall protection requirements if they plan to work from the roof (I assumed that gutter guard installation was done off of ladders alone but learned otherwise); ask if the gutter cleaning before install is included or an additional cost; get more than one quote. I contacted this company to obtain a quote for the installation of Gutterglove Pro replacement leaf…read moreguards on our 10-year-old gutters. The gutters themselves were in perfect shape despite several harsh winters, except that the original guards had failed in places, allowing debris to collect in and block the gutters. When Greg, the representative, arrived, he told me he was a "consultant," not a salesperson, and had decades of professional experience with gutters. Despite his experience, he brought only a 6-foot ladder and no product sample. Greg could barely view the top of our gutters by standing (unsafely) on the top rung of his ladder. Over the course of 45 minutes, Greg attempted to sell us on both new gutters and leaf guard screens. He said our current gutters, which had survived many heavy storms, were incorrectly mounted given that our house is above the snow line, even though they were installed precisely in accordance with the approved construction drawings I showed him and had lasted for 10+ years. He proposed a somewhat complicated method for installing new gutters that involved cutting away a portion of the old ones. When I told him that the leading manufacturer of gutter screens had provided us with a quote for the installation of replacement screens on our EXISTING GUTTERS and offered a 50-year warranty, Greg derided that company, its products and its sales practices. Greg kept trying to explain why his product was better and why new gutters were necessary, but refused to provide a quote or describe the warranty his company would offer. Again and again, I told him I did not care about the product specifics, but rather what warranty would be provided and what the system would cost. As I explained, however the product was constructed, if it failed I would rely on the warranty for replacement or repair. Before he left, Greg measured the two sections of gutters that would be replaced. His measurement of one of them overstated its length by three feet. Within a day or two, I received from All About Gutters what purported to be a quote, but contained none, and a message stating, "We're excited to get to work, so if you'd like to proceed let us know and we can get started!" Eventually, another representative of the company, perhaps the owner, sent the following message: "After reviewing the job site we don't feel our gutter system will be the best option for the snow and weather conditions." This was remarkable, given that Greg, who also lives above the snow line, inspected our roof and repeatedly and unequivocally recommended the company's system. No one else from the company visited our house, i.e., the job site. Moreover, the Gutterglove brochure, which the consultant did think to bring and left with us, states: "No need to replace your gutters. Gutterglove Pro fits any gutter-to-roof scenario." "Any" means "any." So both the gutter replacement scheme and the excuse provided by the company for not proceeding contradicted the manufacturer's brochure. The representative suggested that we look to other gutter installers. This is a tacit admission that his company's products and installation techniques are inferior to those employed by others. The bottom line is that despite Greg's proclamations about the company's products and installation approach, the company was unwilling to stand behind either. They offered no warranty of any kind. Dealing with them was a complete waste of time.

He came out to clean our solar panels and gutters and was incredibly efficient. I was stuck working and on calls the whole time, so I was not able to hover or play quality control inspector, but I did not need to. Everything was clean when he arrived since I had just finished cleaning the sidewalks and patio, and when he left, the place looked exactly the same. No mess, no debris, no signs that anyone had even been here except that everything was spotless. Luke also sent me pictures, which I really appreciated. It was honestly a relief to see that he cleaned out what had to be more than 20 years of gutter gunk. That is not a technical term, but it should be. We have had rain the last couple of days and the gutters are working great. Water is flowing like it finally remembered what its job was. Super happy with the service and would definitely recommend them.

Some confusion going on. I had power washing done on my home. I was quoted a price by phone, but…read morereceived a different, higher estimate by email. It was no big deal and I agreed to the higher price, but the technicians came to do the work with the lower price. Again, no big deal, but still confusing because it's not clear what I'm paying and price should be clear (especially if you are pre-writing a check). I confirmed the time of my appointment on several occasions which made it confusing when my technicians arrived an hour later than they should have and I had to ask for an ETA on their arrival. I suggest rather than committing to an exact time, provide a range and flexibility. That way customers can decide if that range works for them. Being on time and providing status updates if you're going to be late is a professional curtesy especially for customers on tight timelines. The cleaning was done nicely, but I did later notice spots in corners that were missed (i.e., behind doors). The front porch area was cleaned, but then the technician blew leaves back on it. They do answer their phones unlike other competitors that you just cannot seem to get ahold of no matter what. However, their power washing is a lot higher price than other competitors. Unfortunately I don't have time to have them come back out and fix anything they might have missed. I'm strapped for time as is. I'd work on communication, attention to detail, and leaving the place clean. Also, consider putting before and after pictures in some sort of written professional document like a PDF you can leave with the customer same day with a receipt before you leave.

They set clear expectations from the start and communicated well throughout the entire project. They worked hard and were completely responsible and accountable. At one point they accidentally broke a skylight, but instead of cutting corners, they went above and beyond to get it repaired properly and made it right. They also cleaned up thoroughly after every single day of work, which we really appreciated. The finished roof looks even better than it did before. I also want to recognize Jose and Adrian. When the inspector required additional work on the roof, Jose took the time to clearly explain the cost differences so we knew exactly what we were paying for and why. I had a lot of questions about the cost breakdown for the sheeting, and it was pretty confusing to me, but Jose was so patient and kept explaining it different ways until it finally clicked. Adrian set us up with our initial consultation and spent over an hour working through pricing with us to get us a great deal. He respected my budget and kept it at the forefront the whole time, which made me feel truly seen and heard. Anytime I had a question or needed help with financing, he was there for me. This whole team was trustworthy, detail-oriented, and easy to work with from the first consultation to the final walkthrough. Highly recommend!!!
