I had some Conga drum hardware gold plated by these folks and they turned out super. Steve the owner is great to work with and they are reasonably priced. I just took another drum piece in for plating and found them difficult to find since they moved. They are now located in Santee. I used Google Maps to get there but found the direction wrong. I took my muffler tail pipe in from my Harley Duece. I asked for Harley quality Chrome. When I picked up parts they chromed the bolt nut clamp all for for a great price and the chrome is as good maybe better then Harley. I didn't ask to have the bolt nut and clamp chromed I am very please and got parts to me a week before date promised. All parts look great. I will report back to yelp if chrome doesn't last. read more

Pacific Plating helped me properly chrome and paint a metal Schwinn bicycle tank. I first got it chromed and then attempted to paint over the chrome using primer. Needless to say, I really botched it up. They stripped off the chrome and the paint and then re-chromed it for me at no extra charge. In the process of the re-chrome, they explained to me how to mask it so that the areas I wanted to paint would not receive chrome. They were very helpful and supportive. Just had a horrible experience with Pacific Plating. I had them zinc plate the two pieces that make up the case to a 1967 Delco 8 track tape player. The bottom piece came out perfect, but the topside of the top piece was splotchy. Now mind you this was after waiting an additional week beyond that originally quoted, and they did not bother to tell me about it until I drove all of the way out to their Woodside location. Steve agreed to send it back and have the entire piece sandblasted and re-zinced, and he promised it to be done by the following week. Well, two weeks later I'm trying to get them to call me back, and when I finally get the chance to pick the piece up, it was clear that Steve did not follow through on getting the piece sandblasted and re-zinced as promised, but instead decided to just polish out the topside to remove the splotchiness of the finish. So now I'm left with a case that has a standard flat zinc finish with a shiny top that will probably rust readily since I'm sure that they rubbed through the chromate and thinned out the zinc coating. All of this, and 36 days of total time vice the 14 days originally quoted. Worst of all were the bald face lies I had to endure from Steve. It is a shame because I had previously received some good work from their shop. read more

My experience with Pacific Plating has been bad. The guy doing the restoration work on my car gave the chrome work to Steve who took months to produce any chromed parts despite repeated requests for some idea of when they would be done. Even then when we did start to get them, it was a piece here or there at a time. Even with the restored car stored and drive infrequently, three years later rust has significantly come through the chrome on the front bumper and it now looks like hell! Failure to properly clean and prep the bumper and poor chroming are the cause. Of course I will have to get it done all over again at my expense. read more

I dropped off my Bumper to have it Rechromed, I was told before I dropped it off it would cost $250 to $350. After I dropped it off they called and said it would be $450, I told them never mind I would come back and get it. They then said they could do it for $350, and it would take 4 Weeks. I called them 4 weeks later and they said it would be wouldn't be done for another week. I called a week later and was told they would call me when it was done, 2 weeks later they called and informed me it was done. When I showed up to get the bumper, I was told there was some imperfections where the bumper was welded. They told me if they had welded it there would have not been a problem. It seem to me they should have told me there was a problem with the welds before they Chromed it and I would have paid them to reweld it . So now I have a bumper thats Chromed but needs to be rewelded to get rid of the imperfections and will have to be rechromed . Its apperant to me they are just taking the stuff they get in to be Chromed in Mexico. Good luck if you use this place to Chrome your stuff . read more
