I've rarely had things powder coated so I'm not sure how their prices compare to others. That said, I thought their quote seemed fair and they completed the job quickly and the quality seems excellent. It was a 25 year old free standing cast aluminum bird feeder. Very heavy and quite dirty and weathered with the old powder coating peeling off. They sandblasted off the old finish and any corrosion and it should be good to go for another 25 years - looks better than new! Pictures show before and after (feeder was disassembled in preparation for powder coating)

Super chrome x Candy Gold! Came out perfect

Fast turnaround time. Even though it was a small job, they killed it thanks again will be back for all my Powdercoat needs.

Our 1940s Russel Wright chairs after powder coating.
Tony M.

My husband and I collect antiques. We have 2 vintage Russel Wright metal lawn chairs from the late 1940s. They were in really bad shape when we got them and we've had them in our garage for a number of years. We decided to restore them. We did research to find out what they might have looked like when they were new. We also researched different ways to restore them. At one point, we even considered taking them to an auto body shop. After asking around and talking to other people, we decided to have them sandblasted and powder coated. We found 3 powder-coating companies here on Yelp. We sent each of them detailed photos of the chairs and told them what we wanted to have done. All of them were similarly priced and said they could do the job. We decided to use Anocote Powder because they were the only ones that said they could do the chairs in two colors (as they were when they were first made). I also got the sense that the owner, Kent, understood that this wasn't a typical industrial powder coating job but more of a high-end restoration. When we took them in to have the work done, we were told that they could not do two colors. We were disappointed but we decided to do it anyway. They helped me choose the colors which we really like. The job was done quicker than we thought. When we saw the photos of the completed chairs we noticed that one of them had a pitted texture that we didn't expect and weren't told about. When we picked them up we saw there was a small hole in one of them and the other chair had a small rough spot in the seat. When I asked about the pitted texture, I was told: "The reason it looks like that is because we had to sandblast it to remove all the rust." The reason for the 3-star rating vs. 5 is that I feel they should have communicated more clearly up front. We shouldn't have been told they could do 2 colors when they could not. Also, we should have been told what to expect regarding sandblasting and that the chairs would have defects. Overall, the chairs look much better than they did. I'm sure this is a great company and they've earned their rating here. However, I wouldn't use them for high-end restorations of the type we did.

Those light colored areas aren't flash reflections, it's that much of a color variation. Looks like used a can of spray paint

Owner is definitely engaged and wants to make his customers satisfied. Looking forward to seeing how the next set comes out

Anocote Powder is San Diegos best powder coating & sandblasting service hands down! Kent, Luis and Maya and the rest of the team are very professional and great people! I look forward to doing more business with Anocote Powder!

We use Anacote powder for our company needs. They are always there, and put out a quality work.

I brought my wheels to Anocote a little over 6 months ago for powder coating. I was extremely satisfied with the work, but wanted to wait a few months before writing a review to see how things held up under driving. Results? Coating still looks great after 5,000 miles, some track time, and a replacement set of tires. I also appreciate Kent's help in selecting a color (they nailed what I was looking for) and the company's transparency. There was a small flaw on one of the wheels and I was given the option of a discount, or having the work redone. I took the discount and honestly don't notice the flaw unless I spend time looking for it. Great people.

Before and after picture of my vintage Cosco stepstool, sandblasted, primered, and powder coated
Brenda D.

This is a before and after picture of my late grandmother's vintage Cosco stepstool. (For some reason I wasn't able to post a picture here, so I posted it separately). It had been sitting in my dad's basement for over 30 years, collecting rust and dirt. I tried restoring it myself, but it was too important to me and I didn't want to mess it up so I contacted Kent and sent him pictures, asking for a quote. He got back to me within an hour. I dropped it off for sandblasting, primer, and powder coating. Sonja took great care in masking off the chrome pieces so as not to get paint on them before coating the leg caps. I wasn't sure that could be accomplished, but as you can see from the finished product, she did a fabulous job! Thank you so much for bringing life back to my stepstool!

I gave them a call to see if I could do same day even though it was afternoon already. The person who picked up the phone was very nice and told me the soonest would be the next day morning and I could book through their website. As soon as I hung up I immediately received a text with a quote and link. Booking through their website was fast and easy. Came in today for my 9:30am appointment and Darren helped check me in, drove it into the shop and within a few minutes confirmed the crack is repairable with a cash/card quote and about 2 hour turnaround. They finished at 11:20 just under 2 hours. Cost was $242 OTD with card. Easy, fast, great service, good price

Where things started to slip was on the pickup side. I was told the car was ready, but still ended up waiting about 30-40 minutes before actually getting it. At checkout, I was also surprised to see a tip screen with suggested amounts that felt pretty high given the service. I ended up leaving a small tip, but the experience itself didn't really match that level of expectation. I also would have appreciated a quick walkthrough of the work that was done--especially at that price point--but it was more of a quick handoff of the keys. I came back for the 10-day follow-up and made a point to ask about timing ahead of time. I was told it would take about an hour. I arrived early, but after an hour the car hadn't been touched yet, and there wasn't any update unless I asked. That part was frustrating. So, they ended up rushing my 10-day follow-up inspection. Gave the car a quick rinse and handed me the keys. What was the point of driving down from Carlsbad??? Over 3 hours wasted. For comparison, I had a great experience at their Kearny Mesa location previously, so I know what they're capable of. This location is stretched thin, which seemed to impact communication and overall service. I was not the only customer in the lobby feeling this way. Given the type of clientele they're working with and the pricing, I was expecting a bit more consistency and attention to detail. Their follow-up consisted of more sales pitches of coupons for services I already had done. Would have been nice to have the discounts PRIOR to the work! I planned on using the wash program and mentioned to Jasmine my poor service experience. Think there was follow-up? Nada. So, thumbs "kind of" up for Ceramic Pro but thumbs down for this location. Overall, I think the company itself does good work, and have used the Kearny Mesa location in the past several times with excellent success!! I would not choose this location again.
