The service for everything is more expensive than anyone else. The work to fix my garage door is so bad . I would not use him anymore.

Most recent update: received a call from the company five minutes earlier, threaten me to take down the review, or their attorney will take it to the court. They claimed that it will cost me thousands dollars. I stand by my honest review and have all the evidence to prove my review. Just sharing my experience here! I'll continue to update if the company makes any even worse move. Original review: Called the business because the remote wasn't working and told them the garage door was under warranty. The business sent out a technician who showed up an hour late to the estimated appointment. And told us $75 for service fee plus $45 per remote. We were surprised because it was still under warranty. Called the owner and they said it's $150 service fee plus the remote fee. On the other hand, the technician was talking to my husband and raised his price to $135. He then made a call with the owner and told us $150. No pricing standard at all? Argued with us saying warranty doesn't cover remote and their pricing never changed and so on. We can't stand the endless argument and paid the fee. The technician gave us a new remote and set it up in five minutes. He said his boss doesn't communicate with customer about the prices ahead and that's an usual. They had this kind of issues before and himself is unhappy about it. Overall, we are very unhappy about the experience due to fees that wasn't communicated ahead, overpriced services for easy fix and the bad attitude dealing with this issue. P.s. Forgot to mention, the owner threatened me that if we declined their service, they will take this to court. Have everything recorded as evidence if someone is interested. read more

Quick to respond and replaced my springs quickly. Some cable was kinked and getting tangled up. Dan was super friendly and helpful.

ZERO STARS...STAY FAR AWAY!!!!! EXTREMELY RUDE, ARGUMENTATIVE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!! I called POGD to have my garage door fixed - Dan came out to do an estimate and quoted me $210 for maintenance and service ($8 for each 10 rollers total plus $50 for service and $80 for the yearly maintenance package). He drove off and sent Fidel a week later to actually service the garage. Fidel spent less than 30 mins here changing the rollers and claimed he was done with the work PLUS checking the maintenance of the rest of the garage door. I asked again if he checked the rest of the garage door/mechanics to make sure everything else was in working order and he said yeah he did and left. It is now a week later and the garage door is making a horrible sound when it closes. I call POGD to come back out today and check the garage door. Fidel comes back and says there's something wrong with the motor now and argues that he wants ANOTHER $150 because he claims he did not check anything else on the garage door besides the rollers last time!! This business is a complete SCAM!! Fidel claimed he checked everything and was paid for the services. Now that there is another problem which should be covered under the maintenance payment from the first visit, POGD refuses to honor this and want MORE money instead!! And forget about trying to call their "office" (which is just a mailbox at the local Diamond Mail & Shipping Center) because no one will pick up any of the 4 phone numbers listed to them. What a terrific company! When I pushed the button to close the door, of course on a recent Saturday, several wheels came off the track and it made a horrible metal against metal crunching sound!! I tried a couple of companies and they were closed or not available for service until the following week. Thank goodness I had a Pacific Overhead business card in my file from 24 years ago!! Our door was partially open so we had to get some immediate help. We called Pacific Overhead Garage doors and the owner came over that same day, said it could be repaired, and by 6:00 pm that Saturday, we had our garage door working well again. At a very reasonable price, he also gave me a 1 year warranty on his work. I highly recommend Pacific Overhead Doors. One of the wheels on the door came off track and the door was closing diagonally. We couldn't close it all the way, either. While trying to undo the damage, we also noticed the wire that was on the side of the door got all tangled up. As this happened 11:49 pm on a Saturday night, we called Pacific Overhead Doors Sunday morning. Since they were booked, we made an appointment. I was told they'll be here 8-9 am, and Greg showed up little after 8. As soon as he saw the door, he knew what happened, and started working at it. Within 30 min, he straightened the door, put the wheel in track, untangled the wire, and made sure it closes level. We were impressed how professional and fast he was. The door now closes smoother and quieter than before! Very nice, professional, and straightforward. You can tell the owner must hire and train with awesome customer satisfaction in mind. This company hasn't realized that deadlines are part of life and are a good business practice. My garage door failed on Xmas day. I left POGD a message and asked them to call back the day after, which they did. On Dec 26, Dan called and said he'd come out that same day between 10:30 and 11am. I agreed and waited . . . and waited. I called Dan at 11:40am, frankly, more concerned about the possibility of an accident. He answered rather nonchalantly and said he was running late due to "traffic." Traffic? On one of the lightest traffic days in SoCal? Really? Dan arrived around 12 noon. After giving me an estimate, we agreed to have the work done the next day between 2 and 4 pm. I left work early just to be present during the repairs. By 4pm no one had showed up or even called. I began calling Dan around 4:30pm. By 4:45pm I'd had enough. I left Dan a message cancelling the job. Miraculously, Dan got my cancellation call. When I asked why he'd not had the courtesy of returning my call, from his mouth came one of the most unbelievable excuses I've ever heard: "I could not get to my phone to call you because I got locked inside the garage I was working in." Really? He offered a discount which I declined. BTW, POGD's estimate was $275. I got the job done for $125 by a competitor who arrived well before the agreed "deadline." read more

I should have read reviews here first---- In a 6 day period they failed to show up for 3 set appointments. On the 4th one I called at start of time period given and told 4 hours later then set. NO calls or apologies for having me miss 12 hours of work time to sit at home waiting. The unit is great and what I wanted. The service is terrible! read more

Great response time for quotes and services. I called Pacific Overhead Garage Doors late morning on a Friday, by 2:00 p.m., Mike was at my house quoting my door. After the quote it was determined that I needed a new garage opener, but it could not be installed that evening, I scheduled an appointment for the following morning. Mike was very accommodating as he agreed to go into work early on Saturday at 6:30 a.m. to ensure my job was completed in a timely manner. I had used this company before a few years ago for a repair and they did a good job. I called them again on a Saturday because my door spring broke and the opener was not working. They gave me a Monday 10AM-12PM window. Monday at 10:30AM I called because I have dealt with home services and know they can be poor at communicating. They told me they had double booked ,thanks for telling me so I wouldn't be waiting around for someone who isn't going to show. So now it's going to be 1-3PM. I have to leave to pickup my wife at 4PM because her car is in the garage. So 1:30PM I call and answering machine, 1:45PM call again and now they are delayed and it might be 1.5 hrs, which I know means 1.5hrs+? So I told them I would call them back. Here's the thing, I don't want to have to stay home a 2nd day to wait again, I have to work too. I looked in Yelp and called another service rated 5 stars, and with only a few hours notice came that day fixed the springs and opener 1 hr 20 minutes, and less than Pacific quoted me. read more

I purchased a garage door opener from Pacific Overhead Garage Doors and had them install it in November 2016. Early in 2017 I opened the door and screws fell out on my car-whoops they don't know how that happened but they came out and fixed it- could not explain what happened. On Monday (09/04/17) my door would not open without me holding down the control on the wall-it would start to go down, but would stop. I panicked because I leave in the dark, so I called the company and left a message. My call was returned around Noon the next day thank God I had an alternative. I made arrangement for someone to come out the next day to fix the problem, supposedly between 7 and 8 a.m. I was up and waiting by 7:00 am. By 8:30 a.m I called because no one showed up; while they scheduled the appointment with me they forgot to send the tech the memo. He showed up at approx. 9:00 am and was done by 9:01 a.m. Long story short-the tech got there and immediately discovered the problem, the passenger side sensory had been knocked off by a luggage which I assumed had shifted. The luggage which contains earthquake material was there when the tech installed the opener and has been there since he left it there. He claims he told me to move it which he did not. My question is if it were in the way why would he not move it when he installed the opener? He claims I moved it-for what reason I don't know. There is no room for anyone to get in or out of my car on that side and its a two-seater that I alone drive. There are no kids there and I only go in and out of the garage in my car. Regardless to how the sensor got knocked off, I got Royally screwed. My problem with the scenario is simple The tech wanted to charge me 125.00 to slip a sensory back in place. I talked to the someone a bit higher than the tech who agreed to drop the fee to $100.00. No one told me there would be a service charge especially a "$125.00 service charge" before hand if the problem was not warranty related. This is not good business practice. I am a female and don't really know a lot about garage door openers, that's why I paid a "reputable " company to handle it. I guess they showed me how it's done! I assumed my problem would be covered under warranty since it had not been a year and this was not the first time I had a problem with the opener and poor installation. I assumed I had either a lemon opener or there was a problem with the install. No one suggested to me to check the sensors, which if it was that simple the guy on the phone should have told me to check the sensors or let me know what the fee would be if they found nothing wrong with the equipment. What a rip off. So 100.00 less in my pocket and 100.00 more in their pocket I am warning everyone, particularly females beware of this company they will rip you off in a New York minute and think nothing of it. Hell, I could have brought another opener for what I was charged. Plus I missed over an hour of work for nothing waiting. I make a decent wage, but certainly not 100.00 for one minute of work. I will never use the company again and would highly recommend others to look for a more trust worthy company because while they may seem to be reasonable they will rip you off in a heart beat when you least expect it. I have had many many problems with this company. I have spoken to Frank, Thelma, Stephanie and the owner Dan. They have no business license to do business in San Dimas (and probably not any other cities). They have lied to the Contractors Board of California stating they have no employees. They have moved from the listed address and have not notified the City of Pomona for several months now. They refused to give me the current address; giving me only a mailing address in Diamond Bar. My contract for a new door ($1830.00) was signed 2/16/2015. Started on 2/20 and not fully completed until 3/18/2015. Problems included wrong parts, incorrect installation, using old parts, greassy workmanship, damage to new components, and never arriving on time as promised. I would never ever recommend this company to even my worse enemy! The only worker that is worth anything is Tom L. He completed the job to my satisfaction with the visit last week on 3/18/2015. Complaints have been made to the Cities of Pomona and San Dimas as well as the California Contractors Board. Something is seriously wrong with this company. Low rating for poor service. I was having trouble with the garage door (that they installed just this year) closing with the remote. I got an appointment time for 10-12, and took off work to be there. They never showed up, and all I was able to do was leave a message on their answering machine. I then returned to work. At 5:00 that same day I got a call from them stating they were at my house, and could I meet them there.Tthey said they "forgot" about my appointment. I was able to return home to meet them, only to be told by the technician that he was stumped about why my door would not shut, and he would call the company "next week" to see if they knew why the door wouldn't shut. Got a second technician out a week later (again, well past the time window they gave me). He took less than a minute to adjust one sensor, and then charged my $85. I told him that equaled $5,100 an hour! He wouldn't even give me a hint as to how I might adjust this myself in the future. I would think for that price, I would have gotten better customer service, and some help for taking care of the sensors. I won't use them again. read more

Would not recommend this company. We called on Saturday to have a broken spring replaced and was given a Monday appointment for 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. No-Show. Called at 4:30 P.M. was told repairman was finishing up and would be there soon. Called at 5:30 P.M. office closed, left a message inquiring if they would be coming today. Received a call at 6:30 P.M. say they were not going to make it and they would re-schedule us for the next day for 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. I was taken back by this ,and after a brief silence to compose myself, I told them I felt we should be the first appointment so said they would be there between 8:00 to 10:00 A.m. No-Show no call. Left for breakfast at 10:10 A.M. received a call at 10:15 A.M. stating repairman was out front. I told them I had an appointment, they asked to come back later, I said that was not necessary that I would use someone else. 10:30 A.M. called another company, it is now 12:30 P.M. same day springs replaced I am happy.
