The other students were fabulous company, and I can't say enough great things about May as an artist, teacher, and facilitator. She is so friendly and warm. She had beautiful materials. She provided excellent guidance and suggestions when needed. And she knew just what we needed to keep the flow of the class. We got to do the fun stuff, selecting, cutting, and arranging materials, while she punched holes, added jump rings, and earring hooks. We all were able to make several beautiful sets of earrings to keep or gift. They looked amazing. It was wonderful to be creative and focused for a few hours. I LOVE to craft, but sometimes you want to experiment without purchasing all the tools and materials necessary to complete a project. This workshop was the perfect example of a class that allowed me to be completely creative without having to worry about purchasing materials and tools, learning about using those materials and tools, and then storing those materials and tools indefinitely in my garage (adding to my husband's great sadness over the state of our garage). This class happened during COVID, and I felt very safe. Everyone was wearing masks.

I should mention, I am in no way affiliated with this shop whatsoever in any way, shape, or form. However I do live in the neighborhood and when I was searching for paper stores, this shop came up in the search. It took me literally 2 seconds to see that it's not the type of store I'm looking for (I'm looking for more of a stationary/paper store as opposed to art supply anyways, but alas this shop came up.) I personally think it's really cool to have a shop specifically for materials more geared toward graffiti/spray paint art...because graffiti IS ART. Therefore this shop IS an art supply store! That guys review would be almost like if I went to Whole Foods and got mad because they don't sell Hot Cheetos and Swishers. That would be ridiculous, right? Of course it would be! People should do their own due diligence! I'm sure Scott S. refuses to take such responsibility though, for he mustn't have the basic sense to make such high agency decisions in his day-to-day life. But that's okay. Because I'm here. To suggest to anyone that comes across this shop, to simply look at the images. Look for yourself. Is this the type of store you're looking for? If you are unsure, the store owner's phone number is right here on this very listing. I'm sure you can call and ask. Don't be like Scott. Not now. Not ever.

They offer classes and camps for kids, and classes for adults, and studio time for those with sewing projects. My child attended Spring Break camp at Hello Stitch and had a great experience - small camp size, tons of attention, great equipment, and of course, hands on sewing. She made pajama pants, a draw string bag, a small quilt for our dogs, and other items. And she learned sewing safety, along with new skills. Not to mention one of her favorite activities, cutting quilt squares on a special piece of equipment made for just that. I have already recommended Hello Stitch to friends and am even thinking that I, with no sewing skills, might be able to learn to make something there. Did I mention the great, large, day-lit space? It's roomy and inviting. Fabulous all around.

Unexpectedly, I thought up a project to salvage the mirror while adding character to my space and needed to remove the mirror from its frame. This felt risky to do on my own. After searching for frame shops, I came across Eco Framing and gave them a call. Eric answered and immediately said he'd be happy to help. They treated my project with care, removed the frame from the mirror for me and wrapped it safely so I could take it home to continue the next steps. I was welcomed back when it was ready to be framed again. The turnaround was quick--just a couple of days--and I was thrilled with the final result. This team truly helped bring my vision to life. Highly recommend

Unfortunately my experience with an associate named Jess made the whole thing pretty miserable. When I explained I was new and needed help choosing clay, she would just stare at me blankly when I asked a question, like she was waiting for me to figure it out myself. It was incredibly frustrating to stand there and try to puzzle out what she wanted from me - a simple "what are you trying to make?" or "what look are you going for?" would have gone a long way. She cut me off mid-sentence more than once, and when she walked me over to the clay wall she made a spectacle of it - speaking loudly and drawing attention from the whole store. It felt less like help and more like being made an example of. I went back to the counter a second time and tried to ask more specific questions. Same thing. At one point I straight up said "I'm not trying to waste your time." She eventually pointed me to something, I bought it, and got out of there. I get that this place has a great reputation and I'm sure a lot of that is deserved. But walking in as a beginner and leaving feeling humiliated is not okay. If you're new to ceramics and need actual help, just hope you don't get Jess.
