As a person who is advocating for the mental health of someone I care about, I am appalled by the e-mail they received. I've never seen a facility corner a patient into paying for services without initiating pharmaceuticals. It is honestly extremely unethical, what is the point of having counseling/therapy availability if you are co-erced to take medication anyways. This is all useful information that should've been prompted on psychology today when looking up a therapist to save the patient time. Dr. Nazish is a psychiatrist and she is the first one I have ever had but I have the absolute best experience! She knows her stuff and even if you are interested in different treatments she talks you through it and makes sure that you get the care and treatment that you need. Due to my busy schedule we meet virtually but my first appointment was in office. Her office has a simple set up but honestly its soooo peaceful to me. I just moved to CA and I desperatly needed new anti depressants. Dr Murialdo quickly accessed my meds and suggested other meds. We are in the phase of trying new prescriptions. So far, so good. I wish zero stars was an option. I'm honestly shocked at the poor communication in this office. I have been in contact with this place for months awaiting a treatment they said they offered, even took my money to evaluate me to get this treatment started. Never communicated to me they were not offering it at that time, and also never communicated they completely stopped giving this treatment. Their front office staff telling people saying they offer it, the very same day their officer manager is telling me they have stopped providing the treatment months ago. They really need to get their communication on track so they won't cause delays in people's mental health treatment. I would highly recommend Pacific Mind Health to my friends and family. Everyone is so nice and personable, I'm usually incredibly shy and everyone has made me feel comfortable. Maria is always quick to get back to me on any e-mails I send her. I've been seeing Dr. Flatow for months as my psychiatrist, and before COVID I started seeing Veronica Calkins for talk therapy. I've had nothing but amazing and positive experiences with them. I first sought out Pacific Mind Health for untreated/poorly treated depression and anxiety. In the months I've been seeing them my outlook has changed drastically. Dr. Flatow has been great about following up on medications and making sure we dial down what's right for me. Veronica is easy to talk to and makes you feel comfortable, I feel very safe telling her what's on my mind. I went through the rTMS treatment for my depression and all I can say is it's light and day. I went from constant negative intrusive thoughts, plus every other negative thing depression brings along, to almost none. I feel like I am able to prioritize my thoughts in a more positive way, which before I couldn't. I am also able to pull myself out of sad thoughts, I no longer dwell on them forever. The rTMS treatment itself is incredibly quick and painless. Bubba, the technician, was also absolutely amazing. He made going every day enjoyable, plus he gave me many tips on how to fight intrusive thoughts and encourage more positive thinking. Long story short. 10/10 would recommend. read more

It took me years of being in denial about my diagnosis until it got to a point that I could no longer manage by myself as I was completely debilitated and not functioning well during my day to day. I spent weeks finding a physician that would take my insurance and found one who ended up being a complete jerk and only had mid-level providers who were fresh out of school and wouldn't know textbook diagnoses if it slapped them on the face. Put simply, the place was a mental health mill who saw patients for 3 minutes and threw an RX in their face. They were unreasonable with rules and medications. I don't even this they typed anything on their special tablets. On to Dr. Flatlow! I was defeated when I saw him I was almost willing to admit defeat. Turns out, I had no reason to. He really took the time to understand exactly what I was going through. Also, he passed zero judgement. We went over my symptoms and my mental health history. Finally deciding on a few medications that he believed would be the best option. There's not a big enough word in the dictionary to explain how touched I was that he took his time to really understand. Fast forward a few months and I would say I'm 45% better, which is HUGE for me. I haven't felt this way in years. Sure things are still tough but if it wasn't for Dr. F, I would be much worse. I've been able to take my beloved dogs for daily walks, lose a few pounds, stop having irrational thoughts and get back to cooking (my passion). I have significantly less feelings and emotions that completely cripple me. It takes many months to figure out what works for someone and it's worth it to wait it out, no matter how hard. He's there for you and takes what his patients may want into consideration. I feel like he tries to meet patients in the middle the best he can. If you're looking for an honest, kind, and patient psychiatrist who actually cares for his patients you can't go wrong with Dr. Flatlow. Even if you have to pay cash. read more

Update: Seemingly after reading my review and leaving her own practice five stars, Veronica emailed me stating she'd be happy to connect me to their programs. It turns out they weren't suspended after all. Liars, liars, liars. Do yourselves a favor. Save the time and energy and go somewhere else where they will treat you with respect and care, something this place chose to suddenly show with enthusiasm AFTER my review went public. Original review: This place strung me along for a month just to tell me to go somewhere else. I submitted all the paperwork for review and when I inquired which therapist I should make an appointment with, Leonie (medical secretary) copied me to Veronica for "consultation." Complete silence. And when I emailed back to Leonie asking for someone else I could talk to, she copied me to Veronica AGAIN. Complete silence. And when I finally had enough and asked for anybody else to talk to except Veronica since she's unresponsive, Veronica finally emailed back to me saying go to someone else, and that she's been on a medical leave. So. Either Leonie repeated copied me to Veronica, a person on a medical leave, fully knowing Veronica won't be able to respond or they are lying. Their website also says hypnotherapy (method I was looking into, along with EMDR) can be done online and that there are available therapists, yet I was emailed saying the program is "suspended" and that I should go somewhere else. This is over a period of a month. I'm just laughing at Veronica's commitment comment on her profile saying "You WILL be heard." Clearly not. Why not say from the beginning that the program is suspended, instead of wasting someone's time for a month? If you piece it all together, it's one of the two. Either 1: they made me do all the paperwork and email back and forth fully knowing their program was already suspended and they won't be able to help, or 2: they are liars.
