I decided to drive to her because I live on the eastern side of Langley and I would have had to pay $75 for her to deliver it to my door, and expecting a baby soon I was tryin to save our family some money as the birth pool rental was going to be $225. I was busy at home getting the house organized for the new arrival of the baby so did not open the contents of the two boxes of equipment until yesterday, 1 day before our expected delivery date. What my husband and I found was atrocious. The visible state of the pool was nauseating. You can imagine what could be left behind after such an event as a birth, which is what the pool is intended for. I was assured at her home that everything would be sanitized and safe for a new baby to be exposed to. It was not. Verrrry visible and obvious chunks of bodily tissue, and who knows what else, were left inside and the smell was something I never wish to experience again. She apologized a few times and made some excuses for this. We agreed that she would refund the non-refundable deposit over the phone, but she agreed to only half ($50) when she arrived to pick up the pool in person as she had to drive to my house to grab the pool and because she was not able to rent the pool in the 12 days that we had possession of it. I feel this is not something you can excuse and should never happen in an area where sanitation is this critical. I feel that people looking for a safe and clean home birth with hopefully minimal setbacks, should reconsider if you are considering From Tummy To Mummy. She is not a bad person by any means, but I would definitely not be trusting this company with any services which would require some level of sanitation and attention to detail.

We figured that, if nothing else, the relatively small amount of money was worth the investment if it prevented the baby blues or lessened the effect of postpartum depression following the birth of our first child. Honestly, I have been blown away! Katie was fabulous to deal with and I would recommend her to anyone. She arrived at the hospital within a few hours of our daughter's birth and was actually the first person to meet our little one besides the hospital staff. She returned with a gorgeous gift basket containing the capsules before I was discharged. She is so personable and has been great with answering all of our questions and following up with us after the birth. We are now three weeks into using the capsules and my energy level has been amazing - everyone has commented on it. My milk supply is abundant and our daughter has been feeding so well. Though some days with a newborn are a bit long, I have not experienced the typical baby blues that so many people warned me of. I am certain that our postpartum experience has been so positive due in large part to my hormones being rebalanced and my iron stores replenished through taking the capsules. There is no question, we will definitely contact From Tummy to Mummy again when we are expecting our next little one.

I didn't have Dr. Wiebe although I have to say, I wish I did because she sure sounded amazing. I had another doctor who was also great, but I was not prepared for the pain. I had the anesthetic injected, which I didn't even feel, but I don't know what it did at all because I still writhed from the pain. Luckily, it only lasted about three seconds at a time - inserting the IUD and then perhaps cutting the strings after? Not sure why it hurt twice. It was the most shocking pain, but just know that it is temporary. Afterwards, my blood pressure went super low from the shock and I lay down for a while. Definitely bring someone with you! If I wasn't there with my mum, I would have felt very fragile and vulnerable. The doctors and nurses are all busy, so it's really crucial to have someone just sit with you afterwards. Overall, every woman's body is different so even though it was extremely & temporarily painful, that doesn't mean it will be the same for you. Some women can go back to work after, others are wiped out. All you can do is bring someone with you, have an advil and use the heating pack offered, and maybe ask for another form of anesthetic? Because mine was useless (unless it would have been even more painful without it... in which case I would have literally died not to be dramatic...). Thanks to everyone there!

The window was left open which made me nervous someone from outside could see. She then explained what the inhaler would do like just make you loopy and how to use it, she then proceeded to tell me that I was not allowed to talk the whole procedure which I found very odd. As I was inhaling it I started to get extremely loopy and could barely keep my hand on it because I started blacking out she then kept saying in a rude manner, keep your mouth on it! Three times mind you I was so out of it I started crying uncontrollably because I was terrified and I didn't like the feeling of not knowing what was happening as well as everything went black, I was under the impression I would still be awake and feel it, my fiancé said I kept saying ow and I'm sorry. When it was done I was told to get dressed and go to the rest room to relax, because I was so out of it I felt super faint and nauseous I couldn't stand up just yet, a nurse then came back twice in less then five minutes to tell me I needed to get out and go to the rest room. My fiancé helped me get dressed and at this point I was still crying because I was so out of it. I felt so rushed and that my wellbeing and how I was feeling just got pushed off to the side. I'm not coming back if this is how they are gonna treat people. It was like they were Herding people in and out.

As an expectant first time mom, I wanted to be under the care of a midwife for my pregnancy. I…read moreoriginally chose this group because they have privileges at Surrey Memorial Hospital, which is where I wanted to deliver. The group offers private sessions, but prefers to operate through group classes with mini one on ones during the class. These classes put you with 9 other couples all due in the same month, and you spend the time learning about pregnancy, birth and parenthood while also building a support system of other parents and getting to know the midwives. The midwives themselves are an excellent team. They provided my husband and I with information about all options, while letting us know what their preferred methods were without judgement. For example, they supported me without exception for my planned medicated birth in the hospital. My actual delivery was done with midwife Allison Burback. She was amazing, and helped me through my son's unexpected early birth. She's an extremely knowledge midwife, but also a wonderful person who is easy to work with. Her and the other midwives also provided amazing support for me and my family during our post delivery hospital stay and then during all of our postpartum care. If you are looking for a midwife to help with your home birth or delivery at Surrey Memorial Hospital, I would highly recommend the midwives in this group.

I've gone there about 4 times and was met twice with a sign saying 'no walk-ins today'. So frustrating. Switchboard is not geared for walk-in's either, last time i called to inquire about walk-ins i spent 15 minutes listening to prompts and calling back a few times to talk to get a real person. If you can make it past all the obstacles, great clinic. Wish they took new patients!

She's also given me lots of suggestions for dietary changes and supplements that would be beneficial. To top it off shes extremely nice and made me feel comfortable, which is important to me. This was my worst blood draw experience in 37 years. I've never had issues with needles or blood…read moredraws, but Rida Wang (ND) was remarkably inept compared to even the most mediocre phlebotomists and nurses I've encountered in the past. I thought it was weird that a naturopath was doing a blood draw, but figured she must know what she's doing if she's confident enough to offer it as a service and had a student shadowing her. Boy was I wrong. She took an unnecessarily large needle, dug and twisted it in my right arm every which way and somehow still failed to locate a vein while causing intense pain. I literally had to yell, "STOP!" She then switched over to my left arm and eventually managed to draw 2 tubes of blood, but not without significant discomfort. The veins in both of my arms ended up feeling like they were on fire and were heavily bruised. This was also the first blood draw where I've had someone take a pen to mark the corners of my vein so that she wouldn't "miss with the needle". After I complained about them on Google, Rida Wang sent a formal document to me saying that neither she nor her student noticed my discomfort, which I vigorously dispute. Are you telling me with your "20 years of experience", you can't even tell when a patient yells stop, that they're in pain? A true professional would have explained upfront that they weren't that experienced and either offered an alternative or asked if I'd be okay with them practicing on me. However, Rida Wang claims that she's a seasoned professional who has "over 200" blood draws under her belt. This really only made the matter worse because if she's done this over 200 times, then there's even less of an excuse to have missed the mark so terribly. The only solution they offered me was a complimentary 15 minute session with Rida Wang for the bruising -- but why would I want that from a person who couldn't even do a basic blood draw? The damage has already been done. How would a consultation help with anything? Finally, I have reason to believe they're withholding results for the blood test. It's been a month, and instead of simply delivering on the product I already paid over $600 for, they requested that I either sign a waiver or book an appointment with my original naturopath, Jean Wong. As my complaint is not about her, I informed the receptionist that I had no issues booking an appointment to get my results from her. They did not provide a clear response and instead said they were following up with the doctor for next steps. This seems like unprofessional and vindictive behaviour. Don't walk away from this place. RUN. I suffered at their hands and not only did I not receive an apology, I got a wall of deflection and gaslighting, completely devoid of empathy or accountability. Patient care is clearly not their priority here.
