This group seems to never answer the phone. I have called several times and am put on long holds (over 20 minutes!).

I felt so comfortable and supported with all three midwives. The midwives were respectful of all my decisions and remained unbiased. I chose to deliver in a hospital and had an epidural. I highly recommend going with these midwives. They spend so much time with you in your appointments, come to your house when you are in labour, and the postpartum care in amazing. 10 out of 10 experience

The clinic changed hands a few years ago and the entire operation (both midwives and staff) has changed. I went to Pacific Midwifery before and after the transition, so I have a unique perspective. Half way through my first pregnancy, in mid-2013, I was a patient at Pacific and ended up getting "bounced" and sent to another practice. My experience at Pacific prior to the transfer was less than stellar. After the transfer, I ended up with a pair of midwives who were amazing. Hedieh was one of the two. When I became pregnant again in late-2015 I learned Hedieh (who I love) had moved to Pacific (oh no)! I decided my relationship with Hedieh trumped my prior bad experience with the clinic, so I decided to go back. I'm so glad I did. The new staff is wonderful. The space is beautiful. And Hedieh herself is a gem. She is extremely experienced, and it shows in everything she does. The pre- and post- natal care I received from her with both babies was phenomenal and I cried after my last discharge appointment :) In short, I highly recommend her, and I can't speak for the rest of the practice personally, it sounds like people are really happy. They have a lactation consultant, binders full of resources, and a lending library (and I think they might even have prenatal courses in the clinic now). If you are still deciding between an OB, GP, or midwife, one of the things I didn't realize would be so different was post-partum care. The post-partum care you get with a midwife (at least in my experience) is the gold standard, for both baby and for mom. It's pretty special to have someone looking out for you in that period.

I met Zahra once for an in-person care, but she wasn't very personable or maybe we just aren't a good pair. I do see her as being an excellent midwife for other women, though. We had a fabulous midwife in the States, and I really wanted to find a midwife here. After calling every midwife clinic in the area and being told "Sorry, July (our due month) is a busy month" and "You should've called us earlier in your pregnancy", I began to realize I might have to settle for a regular ob-gyn. Thankfully, as I was a few weeks from my third trimester, I got a call from a clinic I was on the waitlist for and they told me Zahra was accepting new clients! I immediately said yes! Zahra was wonderful during my pregnancy, delivery and postnatal care. She was always prepared with advice and a plethora of information. We never felt like she was judging us or was biased when discussing concerns we might have. She gave us information on both sides of the argument. She was always available to us, day or night. During my labor, which was complicated and prolonged (contractions started Monday, our LO arrived Thursday), she was my champion. She made sure the nurses and doctors never forgot about me and she was there when I needed her. And having her come to us for the first few weeks of our postnatal care was amazing and incredibly helpful! I highly recommend her!

I enjoyed having long appointments where I can just sit there and ask questions and have them professionally answered. They really respect your wishes, home labor sure, hospital labor sure, you want epidural sure, you don't want drugs sure, And the whole time I was in labor Camille, consulted with all other doctors. I was never left alone I always felt confident and prepared. When things got complicated...going on 4.5 hours pushing I had obgyn on stdby and a pediatrician. My husband and I discussed at length with them why we were declining certain tests yet they still acted as if we were being careless and stupid. I understand that careproviders sometimes disagree with their clients but bullying and strong-arming a client to consent to tests is NOT appropriate. We fired them at 37 weeks and hired new midwives who respected our choices, even if they did not agree with those choices.

I ended up with Jill after a bit of a negative experience with another midwifery practice. My first experience left me feeling unheard and unsupported. Jill was unbelievable. She literally changed my life. She is exceptionally smart and is able to handle any number of difficult questions or topics. She is empathetic and supportive. She has a seemingly impossible perfect balance of providing support while also offering appropriate insights to help you make the best informed choices for you and your baby. She offered practical, relevant sound information but ultimately I knew the choices and decisions were mine to make. She was invaluable during the labour and helped me make some very important decisions with care, compassion and patience. She is inclusive of partners and goes so far above and beyond the actual birth process it's astounding. I felt safe and supported by Jill through the entire process. I never felt judged. Jill was on our team! One of my favourite things in the world is to watch someone do something they love and that they were born to do. Jill's midwifery care is exactly that. Jill gave me the greatest gift in the world - my beautiful baby boy!!
