I was under the care of Team 3 for the duration of my pregnancy, birth and postpartum care. They always took the time to answer my questions and were quick to connect me with other resources if needed. I never felt rushed out the door and I always knew how to get in contact with them if needed. I really liked that I got a chance to meet all the midwives on my team. Having the midwives rotate for my prenatal appointments meant that I had built a strong rapport with each of them by the end of my pregnancy. This all but guaranteed that I would have a trusted and familiar face attend me at my birth. I also loved that the first 2 prenatal visits were done in my home. Not having to pack up a newborn and a toddler and rush across town to make it to an appointment on time was truly a godsend. In the end, I couldn't have been happier with my pregnancy and birth experience. I felt safe, empowered, and cared for. If another pregnancy is in my future, I will absolutely be returning to The Midwifery Group.

With both pregnancies, Team 3 took great care of us, and I always felt like I had ample time to address concerns and never felt like I was being rushed out the door. The midwives were informative, supportive and really advocated for me as they took the time to really understand what I wanted for my birthing plan. When complications arose, I felt taken care of, even if it also felt chaotic - I knew I was in good hands. I also appreciated the home visits postpartum, those visits were certainly integral in my recovery and for the early days in my daughters' lives. The midwives were collaborative with other providers in my care team (I.e. specialists, allied health providers) and the care was truly patient centered. Also, the front staff are amazing, friendly, helpful and easy to talk to as well. You could tell everyone really enjoyed working there/believed in that model of care, and I truly feel like that makes a difference. I wish I could continue receiving care here but sadly I've graduated from midwifery care. Woulid totally recommend!!

Unsafe, unsanitary, unacceptable. I found Sophia and her business on google. I picked up a birth…read morepool rental from her home 13 days ago. I decided to drive to her because I live on the eastern side of Langley and I would have had to pay $75 for her to deliver it to my door, and expecting a baby soon I was tryin to save our family some money as the birth pool rental was going to be $225. I was busy at home getting the house organized for the new arrival of the baby so did not open the contents of the two boxes of equipment until yesterday, 1 day before our expected delivery date. What my husband and I found was atrocious. The visible state of the pool was nauseating. You can imagine what could be left behind after such an event as a birth, which is what the pool is intended for. I was assured at her home that everything would be sanitized and safe for a new baby to be exposed to. It was not. Verrrry visible and obvious chunks of bodily tissue, and who knows what else, were left inside and the smell was something I never wish to experience again. She apologized a few times and made some excuses for this. We agreed that she would refund the non-refundable deposit over the phone, but she agreed to only half ($50) when she arrived to pick up the pool in person as she had to drive to my house to grab the pool and because she was not able to rent the pool in the 12 days that we had possession of it. I feel this is not something you can excuse and should never happen in an area where sanitation is this critical. I feel that people looking for a safe and clean home birth with hopefully minimal setbacks, should reconsider if you are considering From Tummy To Mummy. She is not a bad person by any means, but I would definitely not be trusting this company with any services which would require some level of sanitation and attention to detail.

Though a little squeamish about the idea of Placenta Encapsulation, my husband and I decided to…read morepursue encapsulation as I have a strong family history of depression. We figured that, if nothing else, the relatively small amount of money was worth the investment if it prevented the baby blues or lessened the effect of postpartum depression following the birth of our first child. Honestly, I have been blown away! Katie was fabulous to deal with and I would recommend her to anyone. She arrived at the hospital within a few hours of our daughter's birth and was actually the first person to meet our little one besides the hospital staff. She returned with a gorgeous gift basket containing the capsules before I was discharged. She is so personable and has been great with answering all of our questions and following up with us after the birth. We are now three weeks into using the capsules and my energy level has been amazing - everyone has commented on it. My milk supply is abundant and our daughter has been feeding so well. Though some days with a newborn are a bit long, I have not experienced the typical baby blues that so many people warned me of. I am certain that our postpartum experience has been so positive due in large part to my hormones being rebalanced and my iron stores replenished through taking the capsules. There is no question, we will definitely contact From Tummy to Mummy again when we are expecting our next little one.

We had a fabulous midwife in the States, and I really wanted to find a midwife here. After calling every midwife clinic in the area and being told "Sorry, July (our due month) is a busy month" and "You should've called us earlier in your pregnancy", I began to realize I might have to settle for a regular ob-gyn. Thankfully, as I was a few weeks from my third trimester, I got a call from a clinic I was on the waitlist for and they told me Zahra was accepting new clients! I immediately said yes! Zahra was wonderful during my pregnancy, delivery and postnatal care. She was always prepared with advice and a plethora of information. We never felt like she was judging us or was biased when discussing concerns we might have. She gave us information on both sides of the argument. She was always available to us, day or night. During my labor, which was complicated and prolonged (contractions started Monday, our LO arrived Thursday), she was my champion. She made sure the nurses and doctors never forgot about me and she was there when I needed her. And having her come to us for the first few weeks of our postnatal care was amazing and incredibly helpful! I highly recommend her!

I felt so comfortable and supported with all three midwives. The midwives were respectful of all my decisions and remained unbiased. I chose to deliver in a hospital and had an epidural. I highly recommend going with these midwives. The clinic changed hands a few years ago and the entire operation (both midwives and staff) has changed. I went to Pacific Midwifery before and after the transition, so I have a unique perspective. Half way through my first pregnancy, in mid-2013, I was a patient at Pacific and ended up getting "bounced" and sent to another practice. My experience at Pacific prior to the transfer was less than stellar. After the transfer, I ended up with a pair of midwives who were amazing. Hedieh was one of the two. When I became pregnant again in late-2015 I learned Hedieh (who I love) had moved to Pacific (oh no)! I decided my relationship with Hedieh trumped my prior bad experience with the clinic, so I decided to go back. I'm so glad I did. The new staff is wonderful. The space is beautiful. And Hedieh herself is a gem. She is extremely experienced, and it shows in everything she does. The pre- and post- natal care I received from her with both babies was phenomenal and I cried after my last discharge appointment :) In short, I highly recommend her, and I can't speak for the rest of the practice personally, it sounds like people are really happy. They have a lactation consultant, binders full of resources, and a lending library (and I think they might even have prenatal courses in the clinic now). If you are still deciding between an OB, GP, or midwife, one of the things I didn't realize would be so different was post-partum care. The post-partum care you get with a midwife (at least in my experience) is the gold standard, for both baby and for mom. It's pretty special to have someone looking out for you in that period.

My husband and I discussed at length with them why we were declining certain tests yet they still acted as if we were being careless and stupid. I understand that careproviders sometimes disagree with their clients but bullying and strong-arming a client to consent to tests is NOT appropriate. We fired them at 37 weeks and hired new midwives who respected our choices, even if they did not agree with those choices.
