I love this festival…read more It's low key, affordable, accessible, and the good vibes are in abundance. This year was my third year attending this festival and I continue to be impressed by the organization of it, the music, and the fantastic vendors interspersed throughout the grounds. From colorful tye-dye, delicate jewelry, one of a kind vintage items, hand crafted baseball hats, hip big brimmed hats, stunning photography and much more - I love to peruse each of the booths - and enjoy supporting as many as I can. The stage is always impressive at this festival and the sound is always on point too. From my understanding - the stage has a rich history and many great artists (including the Grateful Dead I believe) have performed on it back in the day. This festival truly captures the essence of Twain Harte in an inspiring way. It showcase local merchants, music, and food - and I love the diverse age range of attendees. From hula-hooping, face painting, and much more - there are plenty of activities for kids during the event, and if you're older and would prefer to just lounge in the mellow vibes - you're more than welcome to bring in your own chairs and manifest some cooling shade. I've been to many festivals throughout the years - and this festival continues to be one of my favorites. The staff always seem to be having a great time, the music is quality, and everybody seems to be genuinely having a great time. I'm looking forward to next year :) Trust.

I happened to see this advertised on Groupon and figured I'd check it out. It was normally about…read more$15 a ticket plus fees but I snagged a deal off of Groupon so it was pretty much free. Pro-tip: be sure to park further away as ANY event at the fairgrounds will cost you $10 and in CASH ONLY. In addition to the cover charge, you have to buy $5 vouchers which get you sample sized items from all vendors that were put on. It is somewhat of a glorified food truck event. There were only a few places that weren't food trucks. I didn't really like the voucher system as not all vendors accepted them for things like desserts. I ended up having to trade my voucher back for cash toward the end. It would just be easier to hand the vendors cash for all the items, but apparently the vendors only get like $3 out of the $5 paid for the vouchers. I guess the cover charge isn't enough for the event hosts? It's basically just like any other food festival but overpriced if you're paying for the cover charge and parking. It's not a huge event. You come, try a few things and leave or look at some of the little shops.

This festival had an awesome concept! It was a multicultural food tasting festival. There was…read moreexcellent entertainment with bands, drummers, and even dancers. Some of the food was better than others, but this was there first one. I expect this festival to grow into an even better experience with more time. The parking and alcohol were expensive and I discussed this with the owner, who noted the city was in charge of alcohol and parking, not them. I was pleased to learn they would be using a different venue for the next one to bring down parking and alcohol costs. I will definitely be going back.

We just returned from a relaxing and entertaining opening weekend at the Bear Valley Music…read moreFestival. We stayed at a condo near the Lodge which is very accessible to the music venue. The festival runs over a two week period with an electic program, everything from Schubert to Sinatra. The crowd tends to be on the older side (this is not Bottle Rock or Coachella) , but it is a great event for everyone (except antsy little kids) Friday night opening act was the T Sisters, a singer songwriter folk trio from Oakland (beautiful harmonies). On Saturday night Kenny Metcalf performed as 'Elton' http://www.kennymetcalfaselton.com/ he definitely got the crowd going, lots of dancing singing and iPhone 'lighters' during the ballads. The Lodge offers several before-concert dining options, there was also a BBQ at the venue for $15 per person. Wine and beer are sold at the venue and can be consumed in the concert tent. Great weekend in a beautiful setting!
