This Achilles Coffee is tucked smack dab in the middle of a health-centric mall surrounded by wellness centers, nutritional experts, and yoga studios. The decent sized parking lot is typically busy but has a good churn throughout the day. There's street parking too and the commuter rail nearby for those looking for a light walk. With seating outside on both the ground level and up on the roof, it's a perfect spot to soak in some sun, breathe in the ocean air, and have a sip and a bite in this quiet part of town. The menu here is comprehensive with coffee (espresso, pour overs, cold brew), teas, specialty drinks, as well as breakfast and light bites to pair with a good start to the morning. We primarily came for a coffee run but a few of our team members decided to visit for breakfast the following day and from what I've heard, they're solid with the food! I look forward to coming back to give their bites a try. In theme for Saint Patrick's Day, they had a few special drinks but I opted for a traditional flat white this time. They had milk options but as a traditionalist, I went with whole milk. The coffee had great flavor and balance. The richness was bold and rounded out after every sip. I was tempted to grab a couple bags on my way out but seeing they had free shipping for online orders over $40 (about two bags), I decided to save some luggage space and order some when I was back home. The staff were friendly and efficient. I was impressed how many of them they were able to fit behind the small work area but they were experienced and worked collectively as a team. The drinks were prepared quick and for those liking them hot, you will be pleased with the freshness of that first sip. Overall, Achilles Coffee is a perfect small batch roaster to visit while you're in San Diego to get a great cup of coffee, a breakfast to go with it, and some bags of single origin or blend to bring back home for your own brew. And if you're interested in trying them out before you visit or just looking to restock, consider checking out their website and order from there. They even have a sampler to try their in-season batches. I guess their only Achilles' heel is that there aren't more of them but with five spots all across San Diego county, at least a San Diegan (or visitor) can get a taste of the sweet nectar marketed under this Greek warrior's moniker.

The garlic aioli is so good. I usually ask for hot sauce salsa which is also made in house so good! It always hits! Usually Ianna is my barista and she is awesome! Today I went by for my usual and looks like they moved the cash wrap area like rotated everything around! I need to try a different menu item but don't sleep on this place. Honesty, the location would be the reason I don't come enough but actually I have been lucky to find decent parking whenever I come. Today one of the servers/cooks named Gil gave me two hot sauces instead of 2 (yay because it's so good) He was super nice. Everyone is friendly and this is definitely a spot to try if you ever walk by. It is an outdoor shop. They have seating outside with a few umbrellas. Elliot served me my drink and he was super fast and nice. I like how they have a chart with all the employees names on there. I do notice sometimes they get a huge line but I've never waited to long for my items. Of course-I'll be back many more times. (Also they have other locations but I haven't tried them so I will one day to compare-not sure if they have the same food menu items).

Most recently, his staff was able to get my daughter in quickly and the necessary procedure to treat her condition went perfectly. He had exceptional bedside manners and made her feel very comfortable. The post-procedure instructions were very clear/thorough and she recovered quickly and fully. He is an expert in what he does and I will only go to him for any podiatry needs (despite the one hour drive).

Apparently, third try really is a charm I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Peterson, his associates and staff!

The staff offered me the choice of a same-day appointment or one the following day. I chose the next day, and the scheduling process was incredibly easy and convenient. From the moment I arrived, everyone was welcoming and professional. Check-in was quick, and I was called back to the exam room within minutes. Shortly after, Dr. Yang came in, which I really appreciated because I wasn't left waiting like I have been at many other medical offices. Dr. Yang took the time to explain my options for treating my pinky toe. He explained the difference between removing the ingrown portion of the nail, which would eventually grow back, and performing a permanent procedure that involved numbing my toe, removing the nail, and applying acid to prevent it from growing back. He made sure I understood everything before moving forward. What impressed me the most was that I didn't expect the procedure to be done that same day. Based on my past experiences with other doctors, I assumed I would only be evaluated and then have to schedule another appointment for the actual procedure. Instead, Dr. Yang was able to take care of everything during my visit. I really appreciated not having to come back for a second appointment, which saved me both time and the cost of another copay. My entire visit, including check-in, the consultation, and the procedure was completed in less than an hour. It's refreshing to find a medical office that values patients' time while still providing exceptional care. I highly recommend Orange County Podiatry and Dr. Yang. The entire staff was friendly, efficient, and caring, and they made what could have been a stressful visit a smooth and positive experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for excellent podiatry care.

As most others state the office here is a NIGHTMARE to deal with. They have you fill out forms and…read moreconfirm appointment but never disclose that you will pay an EXORBITANT amount once you are done. In my case, they charged me $750 for a consultation and then never billed my insurance as promised. I reached out via phone and email multiple times and 3 months later they filed the claim for a lower amount $475 of which my insurance paid 1/3 of. I am still fighting to find out why the billing amount was so much less but after their lack of response in the past, I doubt they will respond.

At no point did they mention that they did not take my insurance(you fill out a form to include your insurance info). I get to the office at the time of my appointment and the door is locked. Okay, I understand, it is Monday and things happen. I wait a bit and the doctor shows up and apologizes, says that his regular front desk person is sick. That is absolutely not a problem, I am patient and easygoing usually. The doctor seems nice and lets another person and myself in the office. He directs his existing patient to a room since he knows him already and asks me to take a seat and he will get me paperwork since I am new. Great. About 5 minutes later(after listening to the doctor on a personal call in the back), another person comes in and it is the fill in for the regular receptionist. Awesome. Things are rolling now...or so I thought. She looked friendly enough, but not overly so, just sort of "meh. I`m here". She got me paperwork to fill out and took a scan of my insurance card. I fill out the paperwork and wait a bit more. She then tells me they do not take my insurance and they are out of network for BCBS "for some time". Okay. I say it would have been nice to know that before I made the drive out here. She shrugs and looks unconcerned with my statement. I tell her I have never had this happen and that if an office didn`t take my insurance, they usually tell me before. She proceeds to tell me there are too many plans for them to have time to look into everyone's insurance. Okay, so the office is just lazy. Got it. I ask how much the visit would be and she tells me $425 for the initial exam. I make a sound of surprise and she says that I can pay up front and then if my insurance normally reimburses me then I should get the money back. Well, I didn`t want to take that chance, so I tell her I`m going to look for another office who is in network. She looks me over and only says "whatever you want to do". Very flippant. Anyway, I left. TL;DR This place doesn't take BCBS. It looks like they have a handful of reviews about being told they don`t take a person's insurance afterwards. Woman up front with the glasses was rude. Doctor seems nice and I`m sure he is a good one, but they need to work on their organization and get a better face for the front office.
