I had an outstanding experience at Orange County Podiatry. When I called to schedule an appointment, I honestly didn't expect to be seen so quickly. The staff offered me the choice of a same-day appointment or one the following day. I chose the next day, and the scheduling process was incredibly easy and convenient. From the moment I arrived, everyone was welcoming and professional. Check-in was quick, and I was called back to the exam room within minutes. Shortly after, Dr. Yang came in, which I really appreciated because I wasn't left waiting like I have been at many other medical offices. Dr. Yang took the time to explain my options for treating my pinky toe. He explained the difference between removing the ingrown portion of the nail, which would eventually grow back, and performing a permanent procedure that involved numbing my toe, removing the nail, and applying acid to prevent it from growing back. He made sure I understood everything before moving forward. What impressed me the most was that I didn't expect the procedure to be done that same day. Based on my past experiences with other doctors, I assumed I would only be evaluated and then have to schedule another appointment for the actual procedure. Instead, Dr. Yang was able to take care of everything during my visit. I really appreciated not having to come back for a second appointment, which saved me both time and the cost of another copay. My entire visit, including check-in, the consultation, and the procedure was completed in less than an hour. It's refreshing to find a medical office that values patients' time while still providing exceptional care. I highly recommend Orange County Podiatry and Dr. Yang. The entire staff was friendly, efficient, and caring, and they made what could have been a stressful visit a smooth and positive experience. Compared to my first visit almost ten years ago with Dr. Coyer - which by the way, was a five-star experience all around - my most recent visit was less than perfect. It wasn't a completely terrible visit - but it certainly could've been better. OC Podiatry's Irvine office is now based off Sand Canyon/Alton, in the Hoag Hospital Complex - my first visit was at an office off Barranca Pkwy, behind the Green Burrito. Their Hoag office is a fancy setting - modern facility, with plenty of parking - conveniently located off the 405/5. Dr. Coyer wasn't available, so I met with Dr. Tien instead. Dr. Tien was thorough, provided several treatment options for my ingrown toenail (owie) - including a partial nail removal, which was what I ultimately went forward with. While she was friendly, I definitely felt the three pokes while she injected the local anesthetic into my big toe. The actual nail-cutting wasn't completely painless (which you'd think it would be considering the anesthesia). I like to think I have a relatively high pain tolerance level too, considering I had all of my wisdom teeth removed under local, instead of general anesthesia. No major issues with the procedure - not knocking off any stars for that. The issue is the post-op/after visit. Despite being considered "in-network" - I had to pay for everything - the visit and the procedure - upfront, and in full. There wasn't any explanation from the clerk as to why or if my insurance was insufficient. This was new to me - and I think I have decent insurance, it's Blue Cross PPO - I usually see other specialists with a low copay. Luckily I was able to cover the fee - which was several hundred dollars - but getting some sort of price estimate before the procedure is performed, would've been nice. Or a heads up that they expect the full payment upfront. With follow-up questions on whether I need to file the claim with my insurance or not - I tried to reach out to the office, only to get a long winded voice message redirecting me to a loop - same voice message plays regardless of what number I press. It seems like the only way to get a hold of the office is via text only. Which is frustrating - especially when it's regarding something that is probably more efficiently resolvable speaking over the phone vs. texting. So what started off as a great experience - eventually dwindled down to a "could've been better" experience. If you need to see a foot doctor for whatever reason - Drs. Coyer or Tien are great. But just be prepared to deal with the "after" - unless yours is a simple and straightforward visit. read more

I've been having foot pain for the longest time. I finally had enough of just dealing with pain on a day to day basis so I found OC Podiatry from my Aetna website. I called late on a Tuesday evening and they took my name and phone number for the office since it was after hours. The next day, I got a text from the same number I called inquiring about my insurance. I responded to their questions and told them my issues and they helped set me up with an appointment with Dr. Kolodenker. The office was close to my home so that was a plus! They pretty much helped me make a next day appointment when I was off work! There was plenty of parking when I arrived and the office was very easy to find. The front staff ladies were very kind and checked me in quickly. I waitied a couple minutes and was called into the exam room. Dr. Kolodenker was very kind, professional and knowledgable. He patiently listened to all my issues and concerns and helped me with the proper treatments. He also had a back up plan if the first treatment does not work. This was probably one of the best experiences I've had at a doctor's office. My daughter had foot pain. I was able to get an appointment in 2 days (could have been seen the next day, but a further location). Check in was smooth. Was called back within 10 minutes. Doctor K. came in within a minute of us sitting down in the exam room and talking to the nurse. Doctor walked in, pointed at my daughter's foot (she had her shoes off already) and said "is that where it hurts?" He was right. He then goes on to explain her issue, gave us treatment options and did an x-ray. He never rushed us. Took all the time we needed and answered every question we had. They tried to charge me $171.00 . If I didn't know better I would have paid it. I unfortunately will not be returning. Located in Irvine, it's in one of the big Hoag medical centers. When we checked in the receptionist was friendly and kind. She's was called with virtually no wait time and everything was super clean and comfortable. Our doctor was SO, so nice!
