When we were in Japan a few years ago, we had Pablo's mini cheese tarts in Akihabara, and we fell in love with their tarts. They were freshly made, so they were still warm and melty. I distinctly remember loving the Mango Cheese Tart!
Imagine my surprise and delight when I ran into Pablo here in Makati when we were on our way to lunch at Manam. I was able to check-in to the business too without having to create it. It was already there.
They only had 3 flavors (unlike the one in Tokyo), so we ordered all three--regular, chocolate and matcha. These are definitely bigger than the tarts at Bake Cheese Tart in San Francisco. Pablo's tart crust is light but not too delicate. Lots of filling too and not too sweet. The flavors are great. It would be better fresh out of the oven though when it's still warm. I do wonder if you can have them rewarm it in the oven. I'll have to ask next time and eat it right then and there.
This Pablo is a café, so they have tables for dining-in and coffee and savory food as well for a light meal. We will be back! read more
