Favorite donut place in the world. I mean that quite literally too. This place has the tastiest and cutest donuts. Their iced lattes are so cute and yummy as well ! Every single time I'm visiting the Philippines, I make sure to always stop by this donut shop. The donuts here are just so unique.. in concept and flavor ! These donuts pack great flavor without being to sweet or heavy. Also, can you say picture worthy? I'm stepping up my Instagram game one donut at a time. This shop has a great location as well. Donut recommendations - Oreology and Green Tease. Pure delicious bliss. If you've never had JCO, you must !!!

How I've missed j.co donuts. My favorite whenever I am back in the PI. Tiramisu is definitely my favorite. I tried white velvet during this trip and that is on the top of my list now. The white cream is delicious! Baby pops are always good to get when you can't decide since there is a good variety in the box. I'm coming back before I go back to the states.

    Their names are hilarious!

BEST DONUTS EVER! e-VUURRRR!!! Coming from someone who is not crazy about donuts, I felt the need to post this right away. The box says they have locations in 4 or 5 East Asian cities. In Manila for a couple of days. Never heard of this place, that's because I don't look for donut places, but I a lot of my friends and family do, so recommendations come from them. How do I describe? - soft - fresh - not overly sweet - flavorful - not greasy - just plain fun! - Happy donuts. They're happy, they look happy. I forgot to take pic of the pricing, but I believe it was around 380 pesos for a dozen of the regular size, and 275 for two dozen minis. Counter lady suggested I do the combo and it costs 575 pesos. Took them back to hotel. It was hard to stop eating. Going back for more later today.

Someone once told me that J.CO was the healthiest donut option in Manila. And I had to try it myself being that the operative word was "healthy". Donut and healthy just doesn't fit well together but my friend is more of a health freak than I'll ever be so paid a visit to J.CO and braved the long lines that extended all the way to NLEX. By then, I had to know what the fuss was all about. So, I waited and waited and listened to what people were saying about this mystery donut. "Sabi ni XXX yung Why Nut daw yung masarap!" "Why nut?" "Why not! Hahaha" I rolled my eyes and stopped myself from leaving. And finally it was my turn. I had the Alcapone, the Why Nut, Oreology and the one with the caviar. Everything tasted great and while I couldn't really call them healthy, It beats the other bigger brand which has been making obese people in the US even more obese.

Frozen Yogurts topped with your choice of fruits or sweets wins over the Alcapone Doughnuts! Good deal too, a single serve with 1 choice of topping is priced at Php99.

Fortunately, Habitual Coffee holds its own. Situated on a super industrial part of Pasong Tamo (though gentrification is very real and will probably make its way here very soon), it's kind of out of the way compared to most third wave coffee spots. This is a good thing though! I've never had a problem finding a seat there. The set up is great too. Very industrial. I like the large amount of natural light and sparse feeling of the place. There's a lot of exposed concrete and metal, making the place very Instagram worthy. There are also outlets, wifi, and pretty large tables so getting some work done here is definitely possible. I just wish the seats were more supportive. The coffee is amazing! I believe Yardstick sourced a lot of their coffee while I was there. Their mocha and Americano are great. Not too bitter. The only downside I have is the clientele was a little snooty. The staff, however, was great.

I grew up drinking "kapeng barako" so I would say their coffee somehow will not be far from my expectation. Oh boy! They offer modified flavors that surprisingly tickled our taste buds. It was beyond to what we imagine. The alternative version of their cafe espresso made me enjoy coffee more than ever. I am pretty sure you'll agree with me that in comparison to nearby Starbucks pricing, this place is way reasonable. They offer more than coffee. Tried their local flavored muffins and find it tastes equally right with others. The atmosphere of the coffee shop is contemporary/ modern with Filipino touch which is for me is very appealing.
