I am so excited to be able to grab a delicious P. Terry's food haul for my San Antonio family when I come in from out of town (Austin). This location is close and easy to get to especially when you are in the Broadway area. Like all other P. Terry locations they have two (2) lanes to choose from to get in. You will want to make sure you look/see the sign that says "both lanes open". Once you see that sign you are free to take any lane. Trust me, far right lane, is always faster! Ordered two double cheeseburger combos paired with fries and two drinks - one large fresh lemonade and one sweet tea. Don't skip out on ordering their lemonade. It is made fresh daily. Also they got a great round ice too and check out what their shake of the month is. They always have excellent holiday options. I can't remember if you go inside to eat at this location or not. I am always in and out of here to pick up food. The laid back feel and fast friendly service is well worth coming here and getting some great local food. Also shoutout to the non-GMO or antibiotics in their meat or potatoes and using local ingredients all while benefiting local organizations and efforts around town. We're not much of drive thru people, we either cook at home ( a lot) or do dine in get ready type of restaurants. However this place is close and my 2 year old was the reason for the visit she wanted "burger fries". I'd rate this better than what a burger but second to in n out. But not by much they're very close, my personal taste prefers in n outs secret sauce. Service is fast, great location. This review for P. Terry's is long overdue! 5 years in the making. P. Terry's is single-handedly responsible for my moving to Texas! (Totally kidding) However, definitely a perk. But seriously, I first tried their burgers in 2020 at the OG location in Austin, and after that, I was hooked! This is definitely the little burger chain that could. Within that 5 years, they have expanded their gastronomic chokehold outside of the Austin area, which is very serendipitous for me, since I now live in the San Antonio area. This is my preferred location. Aside from the close proximity to my home, it is always super clean and inviting at this location. The staff is always courteous and welcoming. You cannot help but love the retro look & feel, inside and out. That is one of the standout features of the brand; their nod to a way cooler time. As for the food, it does not disappoint. A really simple menu, with simple, quality ingredients. I have never had a burger that I didn't like at this or any of the many locations that I have been to. When you bite into one of their burgers, you can taste the great beef quality, which is well seasoned. The fries are always on point as well, and they are definitely my preferred type. They offer Coca-Cola products, as well as Dr. Pepper (Hello! It's Texas!), Big Red ( Again, Texas!), various teas and lemonades, and Hawaiian Punch! This place looked cool and it was near the Doseum. We LOVED it here! Very retro feel. Burgers were great! Very juicy and delicious. Such a great find. Perfect place for fast food with quality and value. Easy to access from highway. There's a drive through, as well as seating inside. There's also an outside patio area to sit that is covered. Super cute decor and very clean! Great color scheme and lovely atmosphere. Every single employee that we encountered was beyond friendly and welcoming. This was our first time so they were also patient as well (we don't have this brand in our state). Variety of food on the menu from burgers to chicken tenders. Lots of sides to pick from as well. We got the chicken bites, a cheeseburger sans roll, a double cheeseburger combo meal, and a cheeseburger combo meal. The burgers were absolutely fantastic, as was the chicken tenders (not much breading at all). The fries! Wow! Get them. Also ask for their special sauce to dip all of the things in. They even have dessert. There were milkshakes and cookies. They actually do oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that are amazing (yay for no raisins). These were so tasty that we grabbed 6 more to take back home with us to Maryland. The cookies are $1!! The quality you get here is fabulous. You will be gobsmacked wondering how they are able to make such fresh food made to order for such reasonable prices. Highly recommend this restaurant for the convenience, value, and quality. 02 Jul 2024 One of our Uber drivers last week recommended P. Terry's. I saw that he had a drink cup and had asked him what he thought. He said they were quite reasonably-priced and were OK. So we went today. I had the single patty cheeseburger combo and the husband has the double patty cheeseburger combo. They both come with fries as a drink. The burgers are dressed with lettuce, tomato, special sauce. You can add pickles and onions for free. The onions can be raw or grilled. Me raw, husband grilled. I think I got the more onions. Raw is less work. Ha, ha. Anyway, the food is good. The best burgers? No, but pretty good and the Uber driver is correct - reasonably priced. See my photo of the receipt. I would go back. This is one of the newest locations in SA, located on Broadway st in Mahncke Park. I didn't know what to expect from this place, but after looking at the menu and prices, it was evident that this is a competitor of in-&-out. A burger with a single patty is only $3! I ordered the cheeseburger combo and it comes with fries and a soda water. The bun was very soft, patty was juicy, and the sauce was tangy. The hand-cut fries were crispy, golden, and overall good. This is definitely worth it if you're looking for a quick, cheap meal. I placed my order around 1816 on Sunday inside and took my order to go and it wasn't very busy. However, I've driven by this place plenty of times and they have a line wrapped around the drive thru. I guess I got lucky. The dining area cleanliness was above average with plenty of seating. The burger was great. The fries should be eliminated from the menu as soon as possible! They were greasy and sooo soggy. They lacked taste. I almost thought it was a joke But it was no laughing matter because I was hungry! The chicken nuggets was definitely a flop. Make sure they don't skimp on condiments because I was already home by the time I realized I was going to have a very dry meal without my ketchup. The employee doing drive-through, a young man with dark hair and glasses was extremely rude and unwelcoming! Told me all of my condiments should be in the bag like I was bothering him! 10/24/24 around 9:55pm. I pull up to the drive thru, the girl taking my order says "Give me one second" I say okay. I order my food yet this little girl keeps interrupting me while I order and asked me to repeat myself multiple times, not sure if she had a hearing problem. I get to the window to pay, there's a hold up cause of a staff switch at the register. The man hands me my food and drink, and when i get home, there's onion on my burger despite me ordering jalapeños and theres only lettuce and tomato that come on the burger. If someone doesn't want to be at work and have a nasty attitude towards customers, then grow up or go home. It's only 45¢ for jalapeños, I can afford the "mistake" on their behalf but should that have had to happen? Not at all. This location needs to reevaluate their staffing choices. We have been here about 6 - 7 times only because we are night shifts and they stay open till 3am but this place constantly messes up our orders the food quality is just god awful, I mean for the price it makes sense but your still paying for crap none the less. I've been meaning to try P. Terry's for awhile now. I finally did today after my visit to the San Antonio Zoo. The menu is nice and simple -- that's a plus. Ordering was a breeze. Now the food. The taste is very much like In-N-Out. It has that California burger sort of taste. If that's your thing then you'll really like this place. I was there at 11am so the fries were hot and fresh. They are sort of thin -- once again very California like. Prices were reasonable for what you get. There are a couple of other burger places I'd rather go to if given the choice but, when I'm in the area again and need a quick meal, I very well may stop by again. read more
