I had a horrible experience using PC Richards to purchase a new washer and dryer for my home. I will preface this with stating that the salesman Denes was wonderful and very helpful in helping select the right appliance for my home. He did nothing wrong. I bought a whirpool dryer to replace an old kenmore dryer that had served us well for over 25 years. The technician who did the installation stated I needed new tubing for the dryer vent and that he could do the installation for $90. He performed the installation, left, and we noticed that the new dryer was taking over 5 hours to barely dry a small load of clothing. The ducts had been thoroughly cleaned prior to this new dryer installation. A service tech was sent in to evaluate the dryer, and he stated nothing was wrong with dryer but he would issue a credit for an exchange as we were unsatisfied with the dryer purchased. He found it odd though, as this whirpool typically did not cause issues for most customers. I returned to pc richards, Denes said maybe you just got a lemon, it happens sometimes. We exchanged for a Maytag dryer. The same original technician came to perform the installation. In the process he also broke our bathroom door, stated he knew it wasn't working but had no idea how to fix it. He left, and within a few weeks we noticed the lint collection tray was not catching any lint. Coincidentally, I had a home improvement specialist at the house looking at our laundry room since we are looking to do some work there. I asked him if he could check the dryer for me. Immediately he noticed what you will see in the attached photo. The duct tubing was squished into a smaller diameter tubing, with lint all around the tubing, creating a huge fire hazard. Imagine if a piece of lint hit the pilot light and created a fire, or if we had ran the dryer and a piece of lint had caught fire? All from the carelessness of PC Richards technicians. The best part is, when I went into PC richards to tell them about everything in person, the nice man at the desk suggested this occurred because the technician who installed the dryer had come to our home on a weekend. So a weekend versus a weekday installation makes a difference when it comes to safety? The manager who I spoke to on the phone offered a $100 refund to my card, but also suggested that the poor installation was possibly done by someone from my family! Make this make sense!!! We were going to make more purchases from PC Richards, but we definitely won't now.

WORST WORST WORST STORE EVER. We got a refrigerator few months back but It broke down out of nowhere. I went to the store they were supposed to send me a new one they didn't for 2 weeks. no updates sent nothing from their side. When we finally got it delivered it was damaged from 2 sides and the delivery people stole my new Apple AirPods. I have screenshots of the location from Find now. they left at 1:22 and that is also the last time my phone was able to track them.

hole in hose on new dishwasher delivered today....

Dishwasher was delivered defective hose for draining. Installer did not have replacement. Did not check before uninstalling old unit. Asked for $150 additional to replace valve under sink they said was leaking and could not turn off all the way. Only after this did they inspect unit after bringing it into my house, to discover broken drain hose from new dishwasher. They chose not to bring the old one back into the house, but leave the broken new one. Not the best experience so far. will see how long this takes to correct by PC Richards.

Hire more sales staff. Standing here in the store trying to buy an air conditioner and it's like I'm invisible.

We have always been very satisfied with our experiences, and will continue to use Jim when he is available, and will always recommend him to our friends. Sadly, Jim does not service the Pro Thermador Harmony series appliances. As noted in the first review below, RD Appliance is an option. RD happens to be one of the very few Authorized service outfits for the Thermador. While they reported on time, and fixed a problem that evidently is a maintenance item for Thermador ovens, the cost was over $600 for a part that was replaced in about 15 minutes, lets say, 20 minutes. The oven then needed to be turned on and tested, so the tech was here for about and hour in total. Hopefully, Jim will not raise his prices based upon this review, but going forward, we will continue to stick with Jim as he is competent, reasonable, and honest.

They sent Jim from Aladdin (probably the only employee who kicks back to Mr. Jay's) who spent 10 minutes and said nothing is wrong and he needs to get paid!! "If something was wrong, I wouldn't charge you. I would charge SpeedQueen" - Jim Sounds like a scam to me. Doubtful Jim aka Aladdin is a real company that pays taxes as it is not listed on BBB or Google - no website, not listing on Maps or reviews. CALL SPEEDQUEEN First - do not deal with Mr. Jay's or Aladdin.

Steve is a hardworking, talented repairman, who isn't afraid to put a lot of elbow grease into a…read moreproject, and genuinely cares about doing the right thing by his customers. He responds promptly to calls, and maximizes communication -- calling while he's on the way to make sure you're there, letting you know in advance what the price range likely will be, etc. We have used him twice, both times for 20-year-old Panasonic air conditioners. On the first one, it was the hottest day of the summer, of course, when the thing quit. Steve pulled the thing apart, showed me where the problem was, explained that repairing it might not be cost effective and that the repair might not hold for long. On that day, I was willing to take the risk because we just need the cooling. As it was, he worked for a couple hours in the brutal heat, fashioning a repair of the broken metalwork inside the air conditioner. It has run great ever since. On the other one, the fan died and I knew the part would be expensive, so I just bought a replacement new air conditioner and asked Steve to install it. Good guy that he is, he pulled the old one apart first to see if it could be cost-effectively repaired, telling me that if it was fixable I could save some money and return the new one. As it was, he pronounced it dead (frozen, rusted fan motor, an expensive part), but at least I knew I wasn't wasting money. His price to install was comparable to PC Richard, but he came right away after I bought the replacement, as opposed to waiting a week or more for the PC Richard installer. He's also the kind of person I am happy to pay. As to people saying that he has an attitude or something -- give me a break. He is a one-man operation, who has to do his own scheduling, accounting, everything. If he drives across Nassau County to an appointment and you're not home, that comes right out of his pocket. So I don't mind that he is very precise about the time window in which he is hoping to arrive, that he calls in advance to confirm that you're there before he comes to you, and that he says things like, "Be sure you're by your phone," so he can call you if he can't find the house, as he couldn't with ours without help. He also asks a lot of questions to make sure he can help you and that it's worth paying him to come. He will often be taking your call while he is at a job, and he often asks if he can call you back when he's finished with that customer. He is hyper-reliable about calling back, and super-organized as to who he has to call and where he is going next. All of these things are designed to make your life easier and cheaper, and to manage his business efficiently. He wants happy customers. Yeah, he is direct in his communication, like most New Yorkers, which I think is a good thing. He is proud of his reputation for honesty. His prices are more than fair. This is a very-competent, very-experienced repair person who wants repeat business and doesn't rip people off like some do. He is very-busy (just count the number of calls he gets while he is at your place), but tries like the dickens to come the same day or next day, which is wonderful. He knows that it's an emergency to you. I genuinely like the guy, and he is welcome in our house any time.

Instead of doing the job himself, he encouraged me to call Maytag directly to see if I was under warranty. And sure enough, I was. I am very thankful to this man for saving me $500. If you need your appliance repaired, Steve is your go-to man! In addition to this, he repaired our old dryer and did it for a reasonable price.

He came to take a look at the space and provided his recommendation and promptly sent us the quote after. We had gotten quotes from multiple places and their pricing was fair. He was very responsive and answered all of the questions we had. For any questions he wasn't able to answer immediately he got back to us promptly with the answer. Seth and another guy was responsible for installing the unit on the day of. John came by to make sure the installation was going okay. The guys were quick and efficient with the installation. The job itself was very clean install of the unit and they covered the pipe going down the side of my house so it looks a lot better! They completed the installation all in one day, which was great! They took away the old unit and cleaned up afterwards. We also ended up upgrading our thermostat. John was accommodating and sent Seth back at a later time (after we received the new thermostat) to install the new thermostat. It took a bit to get the heat pump working but ultimately it was all done and John and Seth stayed to make sure both the AC and heat pump was working. So we were very happy with how the project was handled and completed.
