I bought $20k of appliances from this branch. Their install team visited my house three times to try to correctly install them, but they didn't send the correct team and they did extensive damage to my house. They are refusing to accept responsibility, stating that they did not install the appliances at all, despite visiting my house three times. It's an absurd and disappointing scenario. Poor customer service experienced with dishwasher. Wide installation window had me waiting all morning on a weekend and then unit arrived damaged. Customer service was indifferent and begrudgingly replied to my time requests to reschedule. Follow up contacts with customer service were also met with indifference. Thinking that the PC in PC Richard stands for Pressure Customers. Recently I went searching for an air conditioner unit that didn't have a built-in Wi-Fi connection. Not a fan of redundant Wi-Fi in literally every piece of equipment in My house. Nope, definitely don't want it or need it. Another thing I don't need is this terrible vibe going on over here where the never-ending swarm of salespeople just keep swooping and stalking to the point that You can't even shop without some guy reminding You that he'll be right here if You need him. I Know you'll be right here cause you're standing Right F'N Here. How bout giving Me some space pal? Just the simple fact that I can smell Your bad breath means You're too F'N close. Lol. Horrible customer service. I have been waiting over two weeks for parts to fix my dryer. They even called to book a service appointment to fix saying my parts were in, my tech no showed and then got a call they needed more parts. As an LG authorized dealer, it should not take this long for parts. At this point, it would be cheaper to replace my dryer than replacing every part and all the hassle. I have asked multiple times for a manger to call me back, nothing. As a family of five, I am living at the laundromat, completely unacceptable! read more

I purchased a washer from here in 2020- I also purchased the extended warranty- this repair was too much and they closed up the warranty and I was able to get a replacement washer. The process from start to finish was seamless . Paul at the store was knowledgeable in the products and was easy to work with. I recommend purchasing their extended warranty In the same week I ended up purchasing a new dryer - Paul was easy to work with again and they were able to deliver the dryer the next day. I have been waiting three whole weeks for fridge. my fridge stopped working I called the company. I was telling him what was going on and they said oh well get a fridge to you as soon as possible. It has been three whole weeks almost a month and it came with the fridge today. However, it didn't fit and And Dave did not tell us. When are we getting a new one. I am sick of the shit. They have made me wait too long I wasted my time waiting for a new fridge. Meanwhile, I could've bought the fridge somewhere else. They wasted my time completely. This service was not good. This service was awful. And because they bought the wrong size to the house. I have no idea how much longer I will have to wait.. this is awful. This is the worst most unethical business that I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. I left a previous review at how horrible the customer service has been and how they constantly keep rescheduling the deliveries for both a stove and a fridge, even though they stay, it's in the warehouse. They delivered a damaged fridge and tried to claim that we did it and signed off on it when the workers didn't even take the plastic off or communicate because they spoke no English so the people on the phone even though we were waiting on a new fridge to be delivered told us that we signed off on the fridge and we responsible for the damage that they are Delivery delivery men caused when they delivered a damaged fridge. This is the worst most unethical company that I have ever worked with. I will be sure to go to the Better Business Bureau on them because what they are doing is corrupt. They cannot simply do their job which is to get a item from the warehouse and deliver it on time and then when they finally make a delivery, they are delivering damaged items and trying to blame the customer. This business should be shut down. They will hear from the Better Business Bureau because we are going to file a claim for everything that we have gone through for the last several months, all around horrible service and unethical practices with terrible customer service. Not one apology. The guy on the phone was trying to blame us for them delivering an item that was damaged even though they had already agreed to deliver a new one. We are still waiting on a new fridge because the one that they delivered has two dents in the door that the delivery men took off before even letting us confirm was damaged. This is a horrible, horrible company with horrible customer service and horrible business practices. Just a tragi-comedy of errors and poor customer service that made me regret ever entering this place or giving them a penny of my money. After visiting the Sub-Zero/Wolf showroom in Pinebrook to pick out new appliances for the kitchen it was suggested we go to this location as it was close to our home and P.C. Richard is an authorized dealer. After working out the pricing for a large array of appliances along with delivery, install and haul away I tried twice to come down and pay for my purchase and both times the salesperson I dealt with failed to show at the designated time. After the second time I asked to have my order changed to another salesman who stepped in and took over the purchase. I also, due to the waste of time I incurred, negotiated a 10 year warranty on the fridge, with me picking up half the cost and the distributor taking the rest. I'd have to say that the only positive here was the second salesman, Paul, who was helpful and even went out to my house when a reschedule was required for the pre-delivery survey. Sadly he was let down by the rest of this horrendously incompetent company. When the initial delivery day came the first truck brought nearly everything and I asked, since the contractors were installing the vent pipe for the dryer, if they could start with the range and hood. The installer gave me attitude and said that everything should have been ready for him and that he wanted to do the washer and dryer first. He finally acquiesced and started with the range when a second large box truck came with additional installers to help with the hood. Unfortunately they happened to park directly in front of my neighbor's driveway and completely blocked this. She politely asked them to move as she needed to get an appointment but they ignored her. I then asked them to please move the truck and reiterated she had an appointment and was flippantly told by the driver that 'he had an appointment too'. Oh, really jackass? That's how you speak to people? They ended up leaving her there for 15 minutes while they struggled to install the hood demonstrating a complete disregard or consideration for other people's time. I complained strongly about her treatment and was told the manager would give her a whopping 5% off an appliance if she came into their location. Who the hell wants to spend money on an appliance with a company that treats you like a dish towel? Obviously she declined when I passed this information to her. After the install the first time I went to use the new range it turns out that it was leveled improperly causing the oil I placed on the built in griddle to slide backwards and not forwards towards the grease catcher as it should. Now I needed these guys to come back. To make matters worse the dryer did not work either and we needed to get someone to come service it. There was also a backordered chimney for the hood that I was waiting on to complete the order. The repair person came to work on the dryer but when he showed up and took a look at the stacked unit he stated that he had no idea it was stacked (the person who answered the phone at the store said this was wrong and it clearly states 'stacked' on the paperwork) and that he'd have to come back. At that point I called the store and then customer service and demanded that they send me a new unit and that I was not interested in a repair. After I got off the phone with them the installer returned, said he leveled the range (side note: it's still not properly levelled), but refused to install the chimney as he said 'it wasn't on his paperwork'. My salesman refuted this and said it was, either way I had to pay my contractor to do this as I could no longer rely on P.C. Richard to do what they promised. The next day the new dryer came while I was out and my contractor was asked to sign for it, which he rightly refused to do, and I was told that this unit also did not work. When I arrived home and followed the instructions, loading in some wet towels to provide weight so it could turn on, it actually did work but since P.C. Richards' installers are apparently only trained in sarcasm and belligerence they did not bother to check this prior to rushing off to most likely spread more joy amongst their customers. To make matters worse the dishwasher I wanted was delayed by Sub-Zero so I opted for an Asko which was at a lower price point. It took me two weeks to get some sort of promised resolution for a refund based on my correct, and not P.C. Richard's INCORRECT, calculations on the dollar amount. As of the writing I have still not received the full amount but seeing their name linger in my 'bookmarked' section of Yelp only caused my blood pressure to spike every time I opened the app. In closing, if I ran my business the same way they did I would be flat broke living in a refrigerator box instead of buying the contents of a new one. read more

My family has made large purchases with PC Richard locations across NYC and NJ for the past several decades. All of our major and minor appliances, in in fact. Sadly, a recent experience at the East Hanover store leaves us not wanting to return to this location. Last summer, I purchased a small range to be delivered to an apartment in Manhattan. I was asked if our building can issue a COI (Certificate of Insurance). I said that they do not, so was told they would leave it at the freight entrance (not a problem as the building staff would assist with bringing it up the freight elevator). All of that went fine. Last Monday, I went back to purchase an apartment style fridge for the same apartment. I was asked for the COI, and I reminded them about last year. All of it was agreed to, then they called me back that evening to say it could not be delivered without the COI. I spoke to a manager, who explained the COI policy over again. I reminded her that it was fine to leave it at door. The promised delivery was Wednesday. The next day, we received an email that prompted us to call to schedule a delivery window. We were told that no delivery could be scheduled without a COI. What?? It was paid for, and they couldn't deliver? What was I supposed to do, pick it up and put it in my trunk? I called and asked to speak to a manager but was told "She's on the phone and will call you back." After some deliberation, we decided to cancel the order. Shortly after that, my mom (who is really the one that gave them decades of our business) called to complain. She was greeted by a person who was not involved in this process. He said he could re-issue the order and override the COI requirement. I wasn't happy with that but agreed since the fridge is urgently needed (the old one broke and was gone). At this point, scheduled delivery would be Thursday. After a few hours, I received another email saying that I had to call and schedule delivery. I called this salesperson back and asked why that was, since he said he would override the COI and schedule it. He said he was having a problem overriding it and there was no manager in the store that day (When THAT morning, I called and was told the store manager was busy and would call me back??) He said he'd have to ask a manager "tomorrow morning" and we had already lost any chance of a Thursday delivery but we were looking at Friday "maybe". I was outraged and then promptly canceled the second order. I went to Home Depot, ordered a better fridge and it's already arrived and ready to go. However, I never tested PC Richards loyalty but today I did. I had an issue with a product and needed to return it and purchase something more suiting for my needs. I needed to replace a 37 year old modern maid cooktop. It finally died after many repairs. I brought my measurements to Paul, the nice salesman in the cooking department. He showed me a few cooktops and they had a kitchenaid in stock. They come out and do the survey and the nice men said it would fit. A few days later installation was scheduled and the Installation was successful! It needed a gas line hookup which was an extra $85.00 but we'll worth it. 4th chance SUCCESS PC Richard bent over backward to schedule a time we could make and the technician was very kind to clearly explain and help my tenants understand how to use the units and how to reset the water sensor for the machines. We feel that faith is restored in PC Richard. We appreciate the technicians and some advise that the driver gave us regarding scheduling. Although the PC Richards service system is slightly confusing...if you stat engaged...thry DO TAKE CARE OF THE UNITS! I feel that although this process has been difficult...they deserve 5 stars. Rebates and price are the reasons to do your appliance shopping at PC Richard. Sure they have a huge showroom and many locations, and I've found the salespeople to be quite reasonable. But mainly you can luck into big manufacturer rebates, and their prices are extremely competitive. Those rebates invariably exclude the big-box places like the blue store, the orange store and snears. But purchases at regional chains like this one are eligible! Over the years I've bought 2 dishwashers, a fridge, a washer, a dryer and a microwave. I got a rebate on every single one, I'm not kidding, it added up to hundreds of dollars. Most recently I even compared their prices to online sources and there was no competition, PCR was cheaper. This location is all alone on Route 10, plenty of parking of course, the front of the store has the cheap stuff and the back of the store has the $10k refrigerators and ginormous stoves. So they serve all markets. Choose a delivery date and they pick the time, they call the night before. If you buy during a sale but aren't ready to take delivery, it's no problem. They were happy to keep our kitchen appliances for many weeks at no extra charge. I highly recommend working with Scott D., he was a pleasure, checked and re-checked the prices each time we visited, and sometimes the numbers actually went down! I don't enjoy buying appliances, believe me, but these guys had the best rebate, the best prices, the best selection - simply as good as it could possibly get, so 5 stars is the only possible rating. read more

Came in to buy a refrigerator. I started walking to the appliances, and the salesman began stalking me. I saw him following me out of the corner of my eye, but he just kept away until I walked into the refrigerator area. He seemed angry the minute I asked a question. I told him what fridge I was interested in: the size, features, and the space I had in my house. He did absolutely nothing. I had to look at all the fridges myself, I had to look up models on my phone myself, and I had to ask someone else a question when the salesman pretended to ignore me. I could not figure out why he was even there. When I was ready to leave, he smarmily asked me "so are you ready to buy the fridge?" I got in the car and drove to Home Depot. I wouldn't give that PC Richards store my business, or that salesman the commission. I would rather give the business to someone who actually helped me. We got a flyer from Karl's appliance in east orange for a Samsung top of the line $5,000 fridge for 2,000. We took the flyer to P.C and after a lot of questions and picture taking and sending to corporate in disbelief THEY KEPT THEIR WORD AND HONORED THE PRICE!!!!!!!!! Kudos!!!! We will return. We have now been without a washer machine for about 10 days now and when you call they have attitude and do not seem to think there is anything wrong with the length of time we have been without a machine. They don't know what is wrong so they are replacing all.parts to see if that can help. Instead of replacing the 2 year old unit. When we called today to let them know they ordered the wrong part the wan again had no urgency and was snarky of phone and said people make mistakes and at least there coming back. Probably the worst experience my family has every dealt with in terms of product and customer service. She purchased 4 major appliances which included a smart refrigerator with screen. The product came damaged with visible dents on all sides. The men moving came on the wrong day and were extremely rude and not helpful. When speaking to the store about a replacement they gave us the run around and are still being difficult. Thousands of dollars in product arrived damaged and they didn't put in the notes to install all products even though installation fees were paid on the all products. As a college student I used to sell extended warranties for a now defunct electronics chain. I was convinced they were a scam but boy are they profitable. However, I will attest that appliance warranties are a great investment. I say this because like it or not, many appliances are not built to last like they used to. That said, I bought a fridge at P.C. Richards in 2015. Yes, 2015. The fridge failed and the parts were back ordered for 6 months. So P.C. richard let us pick out a new fridge. The rep convinced me to get another warranty. It's good I did. Unfortunately, this fridge has had many problems. When I spoke to customer service they decided to once again replace my fridge. When we need appliances we always do our homework and PC Richards is always on our list of places to check out. This time we needed to replace a 20 year old mattress. We knew bedding has changed and we were dreading this. Preliminary research showed PC Richard as a mattress supplier ??, we were suspicious. It was our second stop and thankfully our last. The purchase experience was painless as was the delivery, no surprises, just as promised. Thank you for taking the old stuff away and removing that from our to do list. It's day 3 so do not know if it will last the promised 10 years but we both had 2 really comfortable nights sleep and felt we got a fair deal. Thank you for making something as simple as it can be. Do wish manufacturers could stop changing things for no advantage we can see...need to get new bottom sheets, mattress pads for the new mattresses plus and can't flip over. Also pretty heavy. Will probably not match the life span of the previous mattress but we can't fault PC Richards for that. Their part in the transaction was excellent. read more

I just built a new house and we needed appliances. After searching far and wide, a friend recommended I work with Lorenzo at this store. He was super helpful. I was really surprised how much the guys know about the appliances. I mean every detail about how they work, the warranties, what features are worth it and which ones aren't, etc. No hard selling on warranties or pressure to spend more than my budget. What I really liked also was that they had ALL of the appliances on the floor. Even the counter depth versions of the refrigerators, which weren't on display anywhere else. All of the colors were represented too. No guessing. Most impressive was price matching. Other stores had a song and dance about why they couldn't honor it. PC Richard verified it and no problem, it was matched. I'm glad they do 7 day delivery because I won't have to take time off from work to wait for installation. Great experience. This isnt a review, its a warning. PC Richard sold my mother a nonworking stove and then refused to let her return it. They fixed it several times under warranty, often rescheduling appointments at the last minute or flat out not showing up. The warranty expired and it still doesn't work. Wish I could give them 10-stars! Two years ago we purchased am 18,000BTU Friedrich A/C which worked fine, that is until we put it in service last week. The fan only worked on low and the air output was warm only, Having purchased the extended warranty I called their customer service line to get it repaired. I was greeted with a friendly CS rep who listened to my issue. Long story short, I was covered, but they could not find ANY repair company in my area to fix this brand. I was told to come back to the store and get a replacement unit and that they would honor the last 3-years on our warranty. I had that answer within 48 hours of the first call. The CS rep kept me updated along the way. That is what good customer service is! WOW! We brought the unit back the following day (the only inconvenience with this transaction is that my husband had to take it back out of the window and put it in our minivan - it weighs over 100#) and went to the Hanover store. Within 20 minutes we had found another units (went larger and paid the few dollars difference) and were on our way! No fuss - no problems, and a friendly salesperson in the store. As it happened my one daughter needed a small A/C for her apartment so we also purchased her one while there. Great Memorial Day sale price. I have dealt with PC Richard numerous times over 20+ years. I have always been pleased. Back in 2004 I purchased a TV (from the Wayne store) and when it was to be delivered (along with a washer and freezer) the model was out-of-stock. Instead of making me wait for them to get more they offered me a better unit for the same price. Again, WOW! I guess this is why they have been in business do long! I purchased a refrigerator on Tuesday of this week and it was delivered on Friday. The refrigerator came within the four hour window I was given with no issues. My salesman Andrew guided me through the process by helping me get the appliance I wanted at the price I could afford. He also guided me to get the correct size appliance that would fit in my kitchen and also one that would fit through my door, which I never considered until I went shopping. Thanks to Andrew I did not have the wrong size delivered to my place. This store has all their ducks in a row to sell their products and please their customers. Horrible delivery non-service. Can only get an estimated time of arrival at 8 pm the night before...thereby eliminating possibility of planning one's day. My "three hour window" came and went without a telephone call (promised for 1/2 hour before arrival). Call to store resulted in several disconnections/on-holds. Meanwhile automated system informed me my deliver time had been moved back by three hours! Finally spoke with manager, who arranged to have delivery made. Wonder if I ever would have received the item, as, upon further checking, automated system said it would be delivered between 7 and 9 pm!!! I was helped by a gentleman name Christopher. From the moment I stepped into the store he was polite,informative ,and also patient. I provided the dimensions I needed as my kitchen is an older build. I told him about my previous issues with PC Richards and he was the exact opposite from my previous experience(s). Looking for a refrigerator has been less than pleasant but thanks to Christopher all if that has changed. We have been a PC Richard customer for over 30 years. Every appliance and TV in our house was purchased there. We kept going back because of the good service. However, recently we purchased a $3000 refrigerator. At time of purchase the sales person told us that he was adding in $175 for installation of water line. He said if we did not need it, it would be refunded. The refrigerator was delivered and the installation person said our line was fine and we didn't need a new one. He changed the code on the delivery ticket that I signed and said I would get a refund. When no refund appeared after several weeks, I called the store. The person who answered was very rude and said according to the invoice, the line was installed. I explained what salesperson said and told him the delivery person changed the could. He said the delivery person didn't have the authority to do that. I asked to speak to manager. The manager, Brian, also gave me a hard time but looked up the invoice again and said I was right and I should have only been charged $95. I said the salesperson didn't say anything about a $95 dollar charge. He just responded saying that was what they charge. I also told him that the person who answered the phone was very rude and he didn't seem to care. He just said your salesperson was Chris and said he would put through credit for $80. As a loyal, long term customer, I feel the manager should have listened to my concerns and also not charged the $95 that we were never informed about. I was in dire need of a new refridgerator when the 1st store I bought the refridgerator from messed up big time. The store by way, was The Home Depot at East Hanover. Delivery was foiled twice. But as luck would have it, P.C. Richard and Son saved me. We had our fridge delivered and installed without any problems within 2 weeks. Whereas, we had to wait almost 2 months waiting for our fridge from Home Depot. P.C. Richard and Son had a guy measure our hallway door and guided us which fridge would fit or not. No hassle. Great customer service, very helpful sales associates, and an overall great shopping experience!

In August, my mom, who is in her 90's, bought a Samsung refrigerator from the Wayne PC Richard store. We expressly said that we wanted delivery in the afternoon, so that my brother could be present to make sure delivery and installation went smoothly, and selected a date well in advance so that her request would be honored. The night before the delivery, we were told that it would be in the morning, not the afternoon, and that the truck already was loaded so there was nothing we could do. When they delivered the refrigerator, the installer dragged her old refrigerator out over a clean, white wool carpet, leaving a double track of rust stains which required three carpet cleanings to remove. The installer's company paid the cleaning bill. But it took a long time and many, many calls with long holds to get it resolved. Then in November, we called the Service Department of PC Richard to report that the Samsung door water dispensing system keeps switching automatically (without anyone touching the refrigerator) from water to ice cubes. Other buyers have complained online about this defect. PC Richard sent a repairman. He briefly looked at the refrigerator, didn't do or say anything, and left. Three weeks later we called PC Richard Service Department to find out when the refrigerator would be repaired (We assumed that the serviceman had ordered a new water dispenser unit.) No -- he had told his office that the refrigerator was fixed. So we are having to wait AGAIN for a serviceman to come to repair the refrigerator (each time the service availability window is 4 hours). Buyer beware when dealing with PC Richard. read more

I've always had a great relationship with this store, especially at this location in East Hanover. The manager Joe actually helped me tremendously when my dish washer conked out and did not screw me financially. Always gives great deals and they have a terrific delivery service. This is te only store to buy major appliances. Also, this past week a salesman named Pedro helped me--he was terrific. read more

We have been purchasing appliances from P.C. Richards,Hanover for many years. We never even look elsewhere because of the wonderful experiences we have had. We again needed a new refrigerator and quickly. As usual P.C. Richards was able to deliver the model we wanted in 3 days. Our salesman, Scott was so knowledgeable and accommodating. He along with his Manager,Brian were a pleasure to work with, giving us their best possible terms and making our shopping experience stress free. We highly recommend the Hanover store. read more

Very disappointed with installation service regarding my new Bosch dishwasher. I called the customer service line this morning because the dishwasher that was installed yesterday does not work. The tech left without testing it. (He also left a mess in my kitchen, knocked a piece of cabinetry off next to the dishwasher and just left it on the counter, and complained about how long the job was taking, calling it the "dishwasher from hell"). The customer service line was able to schedule a service visit for me tomorrow. Because I was so disappointed in the service yesterday and I now need to take another day off to wait for more service, I requested a refund of the $175 installation fee. CS told me the salesman or manager at the East Hanover store could process that refund for me. However, when I called the store and explained my experience to both my salesman and then the manager, they told me they could not refund the fee to me for an installation that was "complete." I agree with previous reviewers who've noted the decline in customer service. I have always used PC Richard's in the past for all my household appliances. No more. I don't know what happened to this formerly friendly and reliable place, but they've lost a loyal customer over $175 and a complete lack of empathy. *UPDATE* 7/12/17 Following my 1 star review yesterday, a manager contacted me through yelp, apologized, and made the situation right by processing my refund. I am relieved and satisfied by this outcome. A successful company understands that customer complaints are an opportunity to BUILD loyalty. I just hope the staff and manager at the East Hanover store are trained and empowered to offer the same service and courtesy that the yelp manager, Craig, did. Turns out the dishwasher that was installed at my house Wednesday is defective and needs to be exchanged. I'm hopeful that the rest of this process and my interaction with the store will go smoothly. I've revised my review to 4 stars based on these developments. read more
