For the money, this restaurant can't be beat! You'd spend more if you caught it and prepared it yourself! The fried shrimp, catfish, and egg rolls are some of the best I've ever had. I've heard that the sauteed fish is excellent, too. The decor is early gas station, however, they are building a new place next door that should be a little more nicely decorated. A good friend recommended P & J so we decided to stop through on our way from Austin to New Orleans. Everything on the menu sounded amazing! We ended up ordering lemon pepper wings, the catfish, and a shrimp po boy. Ah-may-zing! Everything was delicious and some of the best wings we've ever had. Do yourself a favor and eat here. They were perfectly salty and almost spicy enough - I could have used a little more red pepper flakes - but that is the only my opinion lol. The lady that prepared our order was very delightful. My husband and I love this place, it's 1 block from our home, so very convenient! The Jumbo popcorn shrimp is always JUMBO and very tasty! We have tried the catfish and didn't quite like the texture of the inside, it was a bit mushy and almost slimmy, also tried crawfish tails tonight and they were a little bit tough. However our favorite is their "Jumbo popcorn shrimp" and its the best we have had around mid county area, and we have tried them all! I prefer mine cooked a little less than usual so they are not too crispy, but if I order it fried medium, they come out perfect to my liking! And their portion size is huge!! Place is not that clean. Wings are ok. Shrimp are good. Sometimes out of items. Check order before leaving.if you phone is an order and they say 20 minutes that usually means 20 minutes after you get there to pick it up.
