Seaside seafood is a restaurant based in Southeast Texas that specializes in fried seafood as the name might suggest. Although, there is stiff competition in that general area, this place has been my go to recently. I usually order their salt and pepper shrimp dinner plate which comes with 6 pc shrimp, 1 bread, salad, and your choice of french fries or shrimp fried rice. Their shrimp is always so crispy and the salt and pepper may be overbearing for some, but paired with sides is perfect to me. Typically, I do get it to-go, as I normally and getting something for just myself, but the interior has more than enough space and is rather clean. I have been coming from BMT to get the fried crabs for years now. But lately they have been a major disappointment! They are little & fried to mush! I went with a friend for lunch a few days ago. The salad included was miniscule with an unidentified orange dressing. The bread was a slice of white. The popcorn shrimp was well cooked, plentiful and tasty. The fries reminded me of those potato sticks from a can. I have visited this restaurant on several occasions. The food is good but the bathrooms are always nasty! The staff are always locked in on their phones scrolling. I would recommend at least general cleaning your restrooms as customers do need a place to wash their hands if they are dining in. Yes, it's a big deal because you are in food service. Came to Port Arthur for a birthday and searched on yelp and google for 30 mins for a good seafood spot. I gave Seaside Seafood a try and the food was very good. I ordered the jumbo popcorn shrimp with fried rice and no salad, based from pictures posted on a review. The shrimps were a large mixture of sizes. Food was hot and fresh. I am a picky eater and I give this spot 5 stars. I will visit again when I am Port Arthur. read more

It was a little salty for me, but very flavorful! Fish was a little dry. Enjoyed the tarter sauce. I chose rice to accompany and there was nothing special about it. Came with a small side salad with way too much dressing, but I finished it lol. Boiled shrimp - Too salty for me and overcooked. Had a hard time getting the shell off. Good size shrimp though. Good seafood but they are nudged out by another local place I prefer. I ordered the 4 piece grilled catfish with fries and the calamari. 5 pieces were provide; thank you. Grilled catfish was overcooked by a minute or so resulting in a non-flaky "grill" consistency that resulted in a firm flesh with tough edges. Some people may prefer this, but it doesn't fit my "grill" expectations. It's almost like frying without dredge and batteries. The fries were inedible. They were soggy and dark. Seems that they may have cooked them inside of old oil that was under temperature. Easy fix. Old oil has burnt flavors. Under temperature oil results from incorrect settings, dirty fryer, or possibly frying too many things in succession without letting temperature raising back in time. Side comment. The "salad" provided was barely a 1/4 cup of iceberg lettuce soaked in dressing. The nice save for this order was the Calamari. I would order it again. They are one of the few places in the area which serve it. Good breading/batter, good snap bite texture for them, lightly salted, and the dipping sauce was spot on spicy with a little savory. Overall, the prices are a little higher than other local locations that serve identical meals. Their varied menu and new location do connect with many and I wish them success as they go forward and make small corrections to a couple of missed; marks in my opinion. read more

They also sell baby crabs. Now this is new to me. You eat them whole instead of picking out the meat like the regular blue crabs. It comes in 3 flavors: lemon pepper, cajun & salted pepper. I got the cajun. All I can say about it is it's very interesting! I'd say it's beer food. They have specials throughout the week. Monday is popcorn shrimp with your choice of fries or fried rice for $5.99. For you taco lovers, they have fried/grilled shrimp/fish tacos for $2 each on Tuesday's. Wednesday's special is shrimp, fish or oyster poboy for 5.99, side not included. Today's special (Thursday) is a cheeseburger with your choice of fries or fried rice for $5.99. The meat patty is not dry and seasoned well enough for me. If you like fried pork chops then Friday is your day! You get 2 fried pork chops with your choice of fries or fried rice for $7.29. Everything I've tried so far has been good. I've ordered to go only but they do offer dine-in as well.
