It was an easy choice when we were in town again yesterday. The delicious meal and friendliest staff brought us back, we were not disappointed. The waitress crafted a house-made ginger ale for me when I was told it wasn't in the gun, best I've ever had and even had the kitchen split our order into two separate baskets when we told her we were sharing the meal. It's the attention to detail and friendly people (and fun music on the jukebox and plenty of screens to watch sports on) like this that keeps us coming back. I want to try a pizza next time but we love the burgers so much.

From the swinging door to the pool table to the dollar bills pasted all over the walls, to the characters at (and behind) the bar, this place is the real deal. Local color. Stiff drinks. Football on the TV. Friendly service. We had a great time stopping in at the Diggins after a few days fishing on the Trinity. And what's best? This is small town a really small town with Eureka about a 10 minute drive away The kid is in school, therefore needs to focus on classes and gets to hang out with us when he get a chance. We didn't have a car at first, so we are limited to Arcata. This was a good thing since we wanted to check out the town that Big said the Pickens are slim but good. There are a few bars in town. This is the only one being a traditional bar. I would even go as far as saying dive bar if it were in San Diego, but here I think it's just a regular bar. Payment is cash only. There's a long bar that has settled over the years and sloped towards the Bartender. There are a few tables along the opposite wall, which we did not sit at. There may have been something out back because I saw people going that way, but I didn't go check it out. We came on three separate occasions. Everybody here was incredibly friendly as they have been in town. It seems like all the locals also come here we saw the cook from another restaurant having a drink at the end of his shift. Don't expect anything fancy here it's a straight bar with a good selection of spirits. I generally stick to a vodka soda or Keile soda when it was something like this by Jenifer behind the bar said she's happy to take direction and made me the most perfect margarita.
