I hit black ice and did some damage to my tie rods 3 to be exact. Knowing they were booked solid they managed to fit me and and fix my front end and do alignment . To me they went above and beyond to help me get back on the road. You see I'm only here visiting my family till the 29th, I was honestly expecting to pay $$$ but to my surprise it was well below what I thought it would cost. The price was very very reasonable !! The tech. rode with me patiently in the car to help diagnose it. I don't think most mechanics would have rode with me as long and as patiently as he did, nor would they have the skill to diagnose. I found prices to be very fair and, in fact, less than the dealership. They don't use factory replacement parts, but nowadays, after-market parts are usually the same quality and sometimes better. Although my rear brakes were the problem, I asked about prices for the front brakes. They were very upfront about the fact that when they replace brake pads in a small car like mine, they also replace the rotors. Since these rotors are already quite thin, to machine them down more (instead of replacing) would risk screwing up the whole braking system and eventually costing more. I know garages that would just do as you ask - replace the break pads and machine down the rotors - even to the point where it would become unsafe and cause more problems. This shows me that these guys are concerned about their reputation and will only do a job if they can do it correctly. They also do it at a reasonable price. Does that sound like most auto repair shops you know of?

A local mechanic shop with a good business in car inspections…read more I was referred her by a friend and Chris's automotive repair for a Massachusetts car inspection and have had our inspections done here for years. The lines can be long for inspections, especially at the first and end of the month. There is a line for inspections formed by cones. The experience varies by who you get. Two of the older mechanics have been very nice. I did have on youth in the past who was a bit kurt and may have been having a bad day. The inspection was business like and efficient. There is a small area for the owners. The inspection area is for mechanics only. Tip: Have your registration and cash payment ready. This speeds up the process. There is a sign on the wall with the amount. My mechanic today was Romy (forgive me if misspelled), and he was professional, polite, and efficient. The inspection area is clean, organised, and the floor is well swept. The is a restroom inside the mechanic area. I am not sure if it is still available for patrons. Tip: Use a restroom prior to dropping by. Repair hours, as of August 2022, are 8 AM - 5 PM. Inspection hours are 8 AM - 2 PM. However, on my visit they stayed open past 2 to serve all those in line. This is a good choice and we shall return.

Has gone downhill from when it used to be Meinike. They are now apparently so busy, I have had no…read moreluck getting my car in for service. When I did had the "privilege" of having my car looked at in recent months, one time I found a cigarette butt on my driver's side mat. Another time, I was clearly having an issue with a dead battery and they told me they had no issues starting the car. This is when I could not start it half the time. They clearly did not even bother to look at it. I replaced the battery myself and that took care of it. Another time, a plug they used to fix my tire fell out right on the highway causing me to chew up a tire. Mansfield getting busier with more people coming in has gone to their heads and I think they consider themselves the only mechanic in town now.

Eventually a slave cylinder went out, making the clutch unusable. That was my impetus for getting it towed to Sully, but he also found a few time-bombs (like a corroded oil pan) and fixed them, too. The car handles better than ever. If you call Autoworks and it'll be a little while before Sully can look at your car, get on his calendar. His work is worth the wait, and he'll keep your car on the road and out of the shop for years.

He said I can do it now, and have it done by the end of the day. Not only did that happen, my brakes were gone, complete rebuild, and they were done by 6. But now driving for a couple days - I can feel what a good job they did. Super smooth, quiet. Yes, that's the way it should be - but rarely is! I will continue to recommend this place.
