I took this class in 2011. I had lived in LA since 2005, went to UCLA for screenwriting, worked as a CBS page (on shows such as The Price Is Right, American Idol and Dancing With The Stars), did a lot of extra work, and wanted to get a PA job because all I was seeing were connects helping connects. I was treated like trash in LA, my education didn't matter and all I was able to do was work for free and pay for more and more useless classes. I did free assisting and even got hit by a car one day...couldn't even sue the person who had no insurance either. That's how bad LA was to me. I had been told, yes, told, to take this class by a friend who was a cbs page with me. They didn't take it. I read lots of reviews that it was a scam prior to 2011. When I took it I knew a lot and they claimed they had a list they put their former students on and sent them to productions. After a year taking the class I asked them if they had put me on that list and they said they didn't because I messed up on walkies. This is someone who was a cbs page, walkies was a big part of my job there, and who since then went back into paging at the studios because of his strong resume. Yes, I learned a lot from the class and I reviewed it with honesty back a few years ago. They claimed my reviews got them more students. In my honest opinion it's all about connects helping connects. Nobody needs to take a class for pa work. It can help a little to be familiar but there was indeed false advertising back then with the list they claimed they put students on and sent to productions. I think since then they removed that from their description. I left LA last July, and I had been through a lot of turmoil despite having worked on many productions and having amazing memories as an audience page and featured extra on many shows. The thing I didn't have was a legit helpful connect. I knew lots of PAs who worked on Dancing With The Stars but they were all for themselves, broke many rules and got more work by being greedy and they laughed and watched as I had to take classes while others chummed to get work. I think with this corona virus thing, PA's are mostly a thing of the past. This class should be taught only for skills not for some list to get on. I always thought positive after taking countless classes in LA like this one. PA Boot Camp and Acting workshops I read were scams but I did both and gave it my best. That city is a shady place. I'm not trying to throw down the instructors, they were helpful but what it comes down to is nobody should have to pay for a PA class just as they shouldn't have to meet casting directors and agents...those all were shut down, but this wasn't. And I think from the outcome of this corona virus, pa's will be non essential just like pages, audience warm ups and most extras, and those areas will go dark after this. Again, I'm not trying to attack on the instructors but back when I made my original reviews they sort of praised me on Facebook around 2014 for getting them more students who paid to take the class which got them more money out of greed as usual. Nobody should have to pay for pa class. Most people can get free pa work on Craigslist which is what I had to do because I had no connects in the biz that cared to help me. I worked for free on indies and that's all they wanted from me. The PAs I knew on Dancing With The Stars did a lot of bad things and sinned many a time over the years. More free work for me led to more, even after I got hit by that car. It wasn't worth the money or the time. I had a strong resume. I'm not running my mouth either, I'm just being honest about how one doesn't have to take this to be a PA. On a big production it is all about connects. read more
