This is the restaurant located poolside at the Copacabana Palace Hotel. Ambiance- it's Saturday so at the pool there was a Brazilian band - lots of beats. Food - tasty. The Brazilian buffet was incredible with all types of meat, rice, salads, vegetables, breads, seafood, too much decadent food!

A friend of mine recommended Pérgula for brunch but my group already had plans so we decided to check out the restaurant for a birthday dinner. You have to walk through the Copacabana Palace hotel to get to it and they have indoor/outdoor (by the pool) seating. The ambiance is very nice. It is clean and bright inside. We chose to dine indoors. The restaurant has a good wine selection, however the food was a bit underwhelming. I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc with the duck ravioli and my boyfriend got the mashed potatoes and grilled chicken. The sauce on the ravioli was great but the duck inside was overcooked. The mashed potatoes didn't have much flavor and we had to add salt and pepper to it. I used the sauce from my ravioli to eat the mashed potatoes. The chicken was cooked well but also needed some additional seasoning. The service was great though. The waiter was gracious with the language barrier and had no problem addressing a mistake with one of our orders. For my friend's bday, they sang to her and brought out a desert with a candle. I believe it was the coconut cake which was really tasty. Overall, the experience was okay. I wouldn't mind going back for brunch.

Wonderful Sunday brunch buffet at the Copacabana Palace's Pergula restaurant (poolside). Beautiful ambience. Amazing quality food for a buffet with more options than you could ever try. Additionally you can order baked lobster, ceviche, and mushroom risotto - all included in the buffet. Oh and as much champagne and bottled water as you like. About $100 US pp, including tax and tip. Service is exceptional.

Inside Belmond Copacabana Palace, nice restaurant by the pool. We arrived late at night and almost every restaurant was closed in the city. We had a lovely dinner here, the waitress was really kind, attentive and efficient. The food was very good (we had the chernia with roasted vegetables & moqueca de banana), so was the caipirovska and the wine.

If you've ever been to Copacabana and walked along the beach, chances are you've definitely stumbled upon this huge white palace known as the Copacabana Palace. After seeing it several times, I thought to myself, how do I get in here (because I was sure the views were beautiful inside). Luckily Yelp came in handy and Pérgula was listed as a restaurant inside (woohoo!). We made a reservation online for lunch and they send you a confirmation email very quickly. We arrived for lunch and upon walking in, the employees were very friendly! The view from inside is so aesthetically pleasing. It's in the center of the hotel building, closed off from the outside world. There's a really fancy and exclusive feel to it. I ordered the chia crusted salmon which is served on a bed of Catalan style spinach and Brazilian potato sauce. My oh my ! I mean, I've had salmon in the past, but the chia crust and the potato sauce were both very interesting and new for me. The creamy potato sauce was so unique - it made the salmon taste so buttery and savory. They also provide a complimentary order of bread. I've had many breads in my time (lol), but this bread was the best bread I have ever had in my life. It was spongey and porous which allowed for the olive oil to sink deeply into the bread - what a combo. I even ordered a second one because it was so good (I was already so full but how many times will I eat here right?). I also ordered a guava flavored cocktail which was delicious. To be honest, it was the most expensive meal I had in Rio de Janeiro, but it was well worth it - the views, the service, and most definitely the food make it justifiable. Highly recommend !

Here you will have to get some street parking as there are not that many paid parking spots and I…read moredid not happen to see any lots around, I would say to just either walk here if you are around or take the term of bus. The place is pretty spacious and have a lot of sitting in a balcony style at the outer bother of the restaurant that they provide stools at the side walk. The place is very busy at night so some wait should be expected but we came at a Sunday night and it was just a 5 to 10 minutes wait nothing too crazy. Once we sat down the same old, not enough menus for the people on the table story. they gave all 3 of us 1 menu and the waiter came super fast to get drink orders.... I Never been here so I did not know what to order and just with one menu was extremely hard to get the orders so we asked him to come back in a bit and bring us more menus. He did the menus but once we were ready it took a long while to have him actually take the orders, as a matter of fact we just asked someone else for our food, but the guy was a buster lol so he had to cll the waiter who came a long time later and that when we realized that we still had not had our orders in the system yet, a mess really. Finally we got our drink orders in and we wee happy. I was planing on getting an adult beverage but it all took so long and the place has no A/C so I got super warm and decided to get a water instead, so here is a prime example that bad service caused me to spend less as a result and the worse was that is was just cause I was too hot and didn't have a proper menu count and a waiter portly taking orders to expedite the drinks. Here the Brazilian people make a salary and the service is automatically charged on the bill, here in this country is notoriously know for BAD SERVICE as regardless of the quality of service they will make the same amount of money so the wait staff could not care less. A interesting thing and very smart that I noticed here was the fact that they have some waiters walking around with trays of shots, or trays of small appetizers, they go from table to table to up- sell the items, this was genius cause if I am not intentionally looking for an appetizer and now it is so close and accessible I will probably get one, and that Is exactly what happened to us. I ordered a couple of appetizers, these people are geniuses. EMPADA DE CARNE SECA COM CATUPIRY- to me this was a disaster, it was super salty and incredibly odd, I based on this little appetizer would never eat carne sea again. BOLINHO DE CAMARAO COM CATUPIRY- this one was much better than the fist one I mentioned but still I was not very happy with the flavor. it did taste like the eat of the city had taken a toll on the flavor of this appetizer. LARGE PIZZA AMATRICIANA- we got the large, but if you are like me from America I must tell you that the large here is not the same as a large out there in the US. this large was finished by 3 people and with very little effort. however I must say that again this pizza just as the appetizers was a disappointment to me, the only positive I can say here on this pizza is the fact that I loved the oregano taste in it. this was a thin crust pizza with bacon in cubes, the cubes were too cooked and they felt almost like rubber, they supposedly had onions added to the pizza, I could not find not one onion on this pizza, this pizza was blend very blend. Over all in my opinion, I am not sure why this place is so busy. the service is nothing special, there is no wifi, they do not know how to count to give a proper amount of menus. the place has no A/C and the food is at best mediocre. I will not be back.

If you like a little spice with some of your food, be sure to discard the tobasco sauce and ask for the molho pimenta especial. Be sparing with how much you use, it can get pretty ridiculous. The service was great and the staff was friendly. I don't think they speak much English, descriptive hand gestures and menu props are welcome and likely offensive. I'm stopping here again before I leave. Our meal for two came out to around R$100 for four drinks and feijoada to share. Portion sizes are large.

I was alone and quite hungry. I had no idea what to order so I order feijoada even though the menu said it was for 2 persons. I have no regrets! It was the BEST feijoada I had!!! Every piece of the dish was FRESH, HOT, and very flavorful. The pork and beef was cooked just right. Not too salty or overcooked. The male waiter couldn't speak English but he was so kind to help set my plate even though I knew how to eat it. Everywhere else I had feijoada or rice and beans with beef and farofa was gross in comparison. The restaurant I first had feijoada, the meat (pork/beef) was ultra salty and overcooked. The meal just tasted ok. I ate about 3 rounds and packed the rest as take-away. I like that the waiter packed each pot into a separate box. They did charge for the bigger boxes (2). I ended up splitting the leftover into 2 meals. Therefore I feel the dish would be a lot of 2 people, if they are not big eaters. I think 3 people is just right. I will definitely come back here for just feijoada.
