Beautiful restaurant with good food in Santa Theresa neighborhood. We walked in and were wowed by how big this place is. The ambience is on point. We were promptly seated and ordered the main course seafood catch of the day and another prawn dish with coconut rice. Both the dishes were fresh and tasted great. We ordered their chocolate dessert and that was amazing! Service was great. Food was good. Ambience was perfect. It is an expensive reataurant. One of the most expensive meals I had during my trip in Rio and I dint feel it was that worth the price hence reduced a star. Overall give it a try!

My friends and I went straight to Aprazivel from GIG and it was a perfect way to start off our stay in Rio. The restaurant is perched in a high up part of the Sta. Teresa neighborhood and there's not much else around it so it's probably best to taxi/Uber up. The ambiance is very nice. Despite being an open air restaurant it didn't get too hot because there's plenty of shade. It was also nice that they were able to hold our luggage in their office so we didn't have to keep it at our table. The view is decent, but there are definitely better restaurant views in Rio. We got paid de queijo with sausage for the table and it was served with honey mustard. It was good, but I found it to only be marginally better than the ubiquitous pao around Rio. Probably wouldn't get it again considering the price. I ordered Minais Gerais pork loin served with fried polenta, pineapple chutney, and topped with fried kale(?). Everything was delicious. The pork was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. It was so tender it basically fell into my fork. The pineapple chutney complemented the salty and savory flavors of the pork very well. The fried kale and polenta brought a satisfying crunch to the dish. I'd definitely get it again. My friend ordered the Octopus Carnaval and it really wowed me. I feel like octopus is easy to overcook but this dish was perfect. Just the right amount of chew and the way it was seasoned didn't overpower the taste of the octopus. I think this was my favorite bite at Aprazivel. I tried my cousin's chicken and rice dish and enjoyed it. My least favorite of the 3 entrees, but it was still very good. Service was on the slower side and the prices were relatively high, but I still highly recommend Aprazivel.

Worth the bumpy, winding ride up for sure! Picturesque setting and relaxed ambiance. All the appetizers we got were delicious and beautifully presented. We especially liked the unique sauces that came with the Couvert and the Acarajé do Cerrado. The Moquequinha do Rio and the Porco das Gerais were both stellar entrees. I didn't expect thinly shredded, fried kale to taste that good haha. Shoutout to their cool entrance too! A great culinary experience!

It's quite a trip up here, but this is not an experience to miss. Santa Teresa is a quiet, cool neighborhood. The views up here are incredible! The cocktails made with local fruits were great. I tried the caju caipirinha and the house recommended cocktail. Both were great. Of all the moqueca I had on this trip, theirs was the best by far.

Let's have lunch in a tree. 10 star for ambiance and what a cool story. This was someone's house 20 years ago. Aprazível is a must visit nestled in the picturesque Santa Teresa area of Rio de Janeiro. The journey to reach this culinary haven involves steep slopes and charming cobblestone streets. The panoramic views from Aprazível's country-home setting are simply breathtaking, offering a glimpse of the Bay of Guanabara. The culinary adventure begins with outstanding appetizers - the ceviche and crab are nothing short of amazing. The tropical fish entree showcases the freshness and vibrant flavors of Brazilian cuisine. For dessert, the chocolate cake with toasted nuts is heaven in a cake. What makes Aprazível truly special is its origin story. More than two decades ago, it started as the personal residence of a chef from Minas Gerais. The transition from a private home to a renowned restaurant shows the chef's talent and the overwhelming demand from a growing circle of friends.

Incredible! This place has it all. Incredible location with views that don't end. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff that serves with a five star approach. Every dish that we had was amazing. Definitely would recommend anyone who is looking for an amazing place to eat spend the time to come here and enjoy.

I wish we would have ate here sooner on our trip this February to Rio. I would have come back again! From the location, high on the hill in Santa Teresa to the semi-secluded style of the place, immensely inviting, excellent service, with a simple yet complex menu of food to choose from. Perhaps you may try the heart of palm, mind you it was cut from the tree (palmeira), or burrata for starters, then move on to the Tropical Fish (fish of the day), Carnival Octopus and later Banana Santa Teresa or Guava Cheesecake. The experience was delightful I would return tomorrow if time permitted. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant, a must visit when in Rio!

Amazing food and the views are unmatched. I got a table right by the ledge overlooking Santa Theresa. I went for an early dinner/late lunch and had no problem getting a table. For dinner it is very crowded. I would always make a reservation here, even for lunch just in case. The acai guacamole was very fresh. It is not sweet at all. Tastes like regular guacamole with a tad a of a twist. Recommend trying. The moquequinha de rio absolutely amazing and really enjoyed. Did not care for the yellow crunchy pieces that came with it. Had no room for dessert but will be trying this place again soon. One thing I will note, servers could be better. Some were attentive, some were not. Had to ask twice for more water. The price is also high. Most expensive meal I had while visiting (53 USD/267 R)

Aprazível is a marvel. From amazing views, great waiting personalities, to a strong selection of taste, this restaurant has it all. Other than its phenomenal flavouring and over presence, it does stand out in terms of pricing, but it is well worth it. Sitting in the Santa Theresa area, the method to get here is through a charming layer of cobblestone. We are here in Rio to try new food and discover new things and we are happy to stumble upon here. Taste: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Value for Money: 4/5 We had: 1) Cheese bread with Sausage: Seemingly simple dish, because it is in concept. But the execution is just good. It gives you a nice warm feel of home 2) Roasted Palm Heart: If you're looking to more local foods, this is a go-to item! The Palm Heart is local Brazil's rain forests. Texture is like a thick and soft artichoke. You can peel the inside for more 3) Moquequinha do Rio: Mix all the bits with the rice and dip it with the stew for a wondrous taste 4) Mallard to friend: Had the duck taste for those that want a bit of game 5) Free Range Chicken: The chicken is phenomenal, probably the best main we had. The meat is succulent and executed well when using basic ingredients 6) Pork from Gerais: Not bad! Good for pork lovers. A bit dry, great on the fatty ends though. The sauce paired and layered itself well. Eat the polenta with the sauce and pork too 7) Father's codfish: Not bad! 8) Guava Cheesecake: Guava jam on top of a New York style cheesecake! 9) Wonder Mango: Good ol bits of Mango and Mango cream! 10) Santa Theresa Banana: Vanilla ice cream and banana with cinnamon on top! All in all, Aprazível is a great restaurant and would totally recommend it!

The view is the only reason to visit this place. The food is average at best. Portions small, limited menu, lacked presentation. Much better Moqueca in Rio.

Amazing food, drinks, and service. The ambiance is super cute. My only regret is I didn't realize they close at 5pm on Sundays and they but my ceviche in the same Togo box as my plantains and it made them soggy! Our reservation was at 4, but didn't arrive until almost 430p because of weather and traffic. The kitchen closed at 445, and they let us know that when I told them I would be late via WhatsApp, but we were rushed. I can't even be mad, but sheesh. Like I said had I known they closed at 5pm. (It wasn't clear on their site) I would have booked earlier or for another day. I would certainly come back here and explore the restaurant more. It's so many cute little areas inside. Food: We started off with the ceviche. It was amazing. We had to order more plantain chips though. When they came they were made to order, crispy and delicious!! I just hate when they boxed up the remaining ceviche to go they put it in the same box as my plantains and it made them SOGGY! Who does that?! Very disappointed! I was looking forward to eating it later. I ended up just throwing it away! For main entrees, I had a tropical fish and my boyfriend had the shrimp rice. Delicious! Drinks: I had the watermelon caipirinha, and he had the pineapple. Both made with super fresh fruit, but I wouldn't get the watermelon again. Dessert: I had the creme brûlée and he had the vegan sorbet. Both delicious!

Amazing view and ambiance in this place. Def looks like you're dining in a treehouse. Made reservations but couldn't make it and were able to walk in later for lunch. Good spot to come to with a date/special occasion as well as for drinks at sunset. We didn't have much time, so didn't get that much to eat. Decent wine selection. Got the tanj mahal which was amazing and must try. Lots of cashew based drinks which is different from other restaurants I'd been to. For appetizers, we got the ceviche which was alright, nothing spectacular. For entree, we did try the tropical fish which was really good. Loved the rice with the fish sauce. Fish was perfectly cooked as well. Overall, great experience. Service was good and fast. Would recommend coming here, esp if you're in staying in the Santa Teresa neighborhood. Must come even if you're not in the neighborhood, just for the ambiance and view.

By far the best home cooked food in Rio with incredible views. Everything was delicious and the unique layout of the restaurant made the experience even better. It is on our list to return the next time in Rio.

The feel is very authentic and I enjoyed pouring over the menu, however the food took over an hour to be prepared even though we were the only customers in the restaurant. I ordered their signature dish (Amazonian fish wrapped in leaves). Unfortunately, there were only a few bites of fish. The rest was kasava, which is not my favorite. The leaves didn't add much in the way of flavor. The drinks we're fine but oversweetened. There were a few bright spots. The banana veggie curry was unexpectedly good and different than anything I've tasted and they make a good ceviche.

Located in the much quieter area of Santa Teresa but near the best bar scene (if you like less club more grunge) in the city in Lapa, it is essentially the opposite of one of the big steak houses you will probably also eat at (and should by the way). We became close friends with a guy that "sort of" works there named Diego who hung out with us in Lapa afterward and showed us a side of the city that we would never had seen. Enjoy! The fish is particularly good and Gabriela was my favorite drink...

Bar do Mineiro was already…read morebookmarked before I visited and was also recommended by a guide or two from previous days of exploring in RJ. I was unaware / distracted when I had walked past it one day when I was with a tour group. We had pão de queijo at the little shack across the street. When I was back in Santa Teresa on my final day in RJ, I knew I had to make it here! I was there for a late lunch / early dinner. It was not packed like it shows in some of the Yelp fotos which was actually nice for me. That meant no wait to be seated. I had a lovely view facing the outside - I love the restaurant's decor as everywhere you looked, there was something unique and interesting to see and having the giant open windows / doors at the front provide a nice outside-in atmosphere. From the tables, to the items on the tables - love the vibe. What I ordered: - Pastels (the ones I saw in everyone's fotos on Yelp - I wasn't sure which ones they were on the menu, but I pointed them out to my waiter. He said it usually comes in many pieces and because I was alone, he could do fewer pieces for me I think). ***these are a MUST! my favorite thing I ate here*** - Feijoada (again, because I was dining alone, the feijoada for 1 would have been too much food for me if I had that AND the pasteis - my waiter made me a smaller portion where it all came on one plata). Still sooo much food, haha. I tried my best to eat everything before I left, but eventually had to ask for a togo container (they placed my food in this lovely bag with the restaurants name and logo and I was able to enjoy this later that evening). It was good, but I think the first time I try something in Brazil it has alway been the best (this was my 2nd time trying feijoada, still really good!) - Colorado Appia cerveja (this has to be my favorite beer in Brazil!) I found out that I had snatched the last bottle of the day. I really would have wanted to try a lot more things but alas, one of the cons of going out alone... I guess I could have ordered another thing togo since I had a leftovers bag. During the time I was there, I really liked my waiter as he did help me a lot with knowing what I wanted to order. He knew a little English as well so that was awesome. I ended up chatting and meeting the owner and this lady who I think was maybe his wife or really good friend unknowingly as they sat at the two-person table next to mine. The lady was very welcoming and chatted with me a little - asked me where I was from. The owner who is this really cute older man was just so humble and you can really tell a lot of friends go to visit and support his business. As I was about to head out to do more exploring, there was another solo traveler who had came in minutes before, later moved tables to sit closer to mine as it was easier to chat vs. from across the pathway. He had ordered something similar to me I think but it looked like more food... it may have been frango with a side of feijoada? Looked great! All in all, absolute fantastic time here! Will definitely come back here and hopefully I'll have a bigger party so I can try more items off the menu, haha. On my way out, I asked the owner if I could take a foto with him and he said he was okay with it! :] Thank you for existing, Bar do Mineiro!
