Had lunch there today as we were passing through on our way out of town. Our food was really, really good. I got the sweet and spicy fried chicken sandwich and my husband got the hillbilly burger. Why cant yelp allow me to give more stars! This place deserves more! From the initial welcome when we arrived till we said "we'll see you on our return trip" the staff couldn't have been lovelier. The burgers were hot, juicy, perfectly seasoned and delicious. The home cut fries were cooked to perfection. The ranch is so flavorful and zesty. My fav on my fries was the homemade season salt , it tastes like its made with love. Our waiter agreed she does make it with love! Next time, we will save room for dessert! Coming here from Louisiana, we have never stopped around this area. Just by looking at the establishment, I knew we were in for a treat. It was 3 of us and it felt so comforting here. Amazing service from the manager and the waitress, very positive and very friendly. The place looks so old school and such a cool layout with the arcade games. I ordered the fried pickles as a starter and we loved it. And I'm a huge ranch fan and they had amazing ranch. I got the bacon burger and man was it amazing. Always turn to Yelp for help when we're traveling and looking for something good and off the beaten path. Saw five stars for five reviews and thought we'd give it a go. So glad we did!!! Impressed right away with the cleanliness of the place, further impressed with the one staff working the whole floor like a pro (the place filled up all but two tables after we came in). Undercooked meat . Ordered a patty melt . Received cold undercooked bread, like it had been placed on the grill but was not grilled. Canned mushrooms. Cheese was not melted. Not prepared well . Basically I don't think they could make a grilled cheese sandwich here. The manager did replace the meal but wasn't much better the second time. Patty was still undercooked. Oark Burger was actually pretty good, the restaurant is clean, nice attentive staff, (with the crazy covid crap) a lot of take out orders, we had four other table patrons dining - so promising. I ordered the angry bird with onion petals, which was pretty tasty. The onion petals were battered lightly fried tasty onions highly recommend. My husband had the Hangry Oark Burger, which he said was good -(we prefer thick juicy medium rare burgers) this burger is comparable to smash burger pattys). He said it was flavor able with the jalapeños. So do not let the 3 - now 4 reviews good place to eat. When they first came to town loved it! It's been all downhill since then. During the winter we went for lunch and it was freezing everyone inside ( which was very few) had on coats. Waitress apologized said they had to leave it on, I think it was 58. We should have left but we thought we'd give food a try again. It's always different there is no consistency to the food. read more
