Paragliding was something I had wanted to try! I am an adrenaline junkie, and this was definitely on my do-to list. Met Jonny on set one day and found out he was a paragliding instructor. Thought I would give it a try! Flew in San Bernardino on crisp beautiful day. He gave great instruction right off the bat, and we had no trouble getting in the air. It only took one attempt, and we were up! It is by far one of the most fun and thrilling things I have done in awhile. Way more fun that zip-lining or parasailing. A big part of having fun on tandem paragliding is having a great instructor. Jonny made me feel very comfortable while in the air and was also extremely knowledgeable. He tells you what goes on while you're in the air to put you at ease. We were up for a good 30-45 minutes. Landing was a lot of fun too! Would recommend Oxygen Paragliding to anyone! My buddy introduced me to Jon and told me if I ever flew that Jon was the man. He was more expensive than some of the other instructors but paragliding is a mixture of survival and beauty. Jon was great at educating me about flying a paraglider safely as well as making sure that I was having a blast. He's a really gregarious and professional guy to fly with. Oxygen Paragliding was the most thrilling experience I have had in L.A. I love adventure, so when Jonny told me about tandem paragliding with him, I was very excited to go! He was very thorough explaining all the steps to paragliding and what I needed to know in case of emergency, so by the time it was ready to go I wasn't scared at all. We launched off the mountain and caught thermals for over an hour and a half. At first it was a rush, and then after that it was very peaceful and beautiful to be able to just float in the air and see the mountains and sites below. Everyone that was at the site was very friendly as well. It was a great experience and I would go again in a heartbeat. I was looking for a qualified paragliding instructor who was familiar with my new local flying site, Dunlap, (I had just moved to the central CA valley) and willing to drive the distance and spend a week guiding & instructing my wife and I. Sky Diving? Sounds fun...but why jump out of a perfectly good airplane. Maybe one day. Ultralight manned aircraft powered only by gravity and aerodynamics...let's do it! I thought I was just going to try a Tandem (flying with and instructor attached to you...really they fly, you ride) and see how I liked it. I was on a big "you only live once kick" (ok...I'm still on it, it's a good kick, bungee jumping is next, may I recommend Bungee America). But weather shut down my first Tandem attempt with friends. Jonny is awesome and keeps you up to date if the weather might be shifting. So we knew in advance that the nature Gods weren't in our favor and didn't waste any time. But my Tandem group was hard to schedule again (I had a sizable group of friends all trying to agree on a weekend). To at least get a taste of flight I tried the "intro class"...AND....: Hooked. Done. Feet off the ground for 20 seconds or so...holy moly I was flying! Must. Fly. Again. Must. Fly. Higher. Must Soar With The Birds. So I did. After several weeks of AMAZINGLY FUN training with Jonny and some of the crew/students at Oxygen Paragliding I am not a certified Paragliding Pilot. Not cheap, but really not that expensive as it's a one time investment and then you can fly...literally fly off a mountain. And when I get ready for the next level of certification Jonny will sign me off after passing the test for free. So it's a great investment. I did eventually do the Tandem with my group. EVERYONE loved it. It was such a great chance to do something completely different. Fear of heights wasn't even much of an issue because you are flying, not falling, and the harness and wing really give you a sense of being supported. Most of my friends just wanted a fun weekend activity, but some of them are considering the training as well! Johnny and the gang are all world-class in their instruction and charm. You will have a blast! Quick Note: Paragliding is different than Hang-Gliding (also cool) but slower and a bit more forgiving. And when you are several thousand feet off the ground, faster isn't necessarily better. If you have ever dreamed of flying like a bird: Do it! On most days you soar, and there are hawks everywhere, if you're lucky they fly with you. No joke, it happens. Kinda of crazily amazing. read more

For some reason I wanted to try paragliding, did some searching and found Oxygen Paragliding. I took a lesson with Jonny (Thank You Jonny!!!) to see how I would handle the kite, not bad for never touching one before. I was able to get the kite up but couldn't get it to stay up. That will improve with experience. Then we were headed up the mountain for a tandem ride to see if I could handle this at such a height. The launch went well and we were off. The winds freaked me out a bit but Jonny knows what he's doing and I knew I had nothing to worry about. I was in awe of the sensations and the views. I wasn't frightened by the height as originally anticipated. If I were on a building or a bridge looking down like that I would be beside myself but I was liking this a lot. It was quite an experience that I hope to do again. I would highly recommend Oxygen Paragliding, you'll be in good hands and have a great time in the sky. :-) read more

Paragliding is a super exhilarating experience! It was definitely an adventure - from driving out to San Bernadino off paved roads to an airfield, to hanging out with the community of para/hang gliders and of course.... the flight! You run a few steps down the mountain and... lift off! The paraglide just takes you up into the skies and you go with the wind! Of course I had Jonny the instructor to navigate, so all I had to do was enjoy the views and fly! No other experience like this. read more

SUCH a great time! Went on a tandem with Jonny "Hollywood", and it's an experience I won't forget. I felt safe since Jonny travels around the world for the sport and was clear in explaining everything. Since you'll learn everything you need to know from the instructors, my only advice is to not accidentally call the sport "parasailing"--paragliding is WAY cooler. Happy gliding! read more

The only reason why I gave Jonny and his team of instructors a 5 star is that is the highest you could give, These guys ROCK!!! Took my family with me to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday and every one of us had an AMAZING Time. They were so personable and performed with EXCELLENCE. I am planning to go again and again! Johnny is a nice guy. I just finished my pilot license course with him...it was a nice teaching/learning experience. He is not the hard core extreme type that you get so often with these types of sports......so there is not that intimidation factor that some of the other instructors provide...plus he is not up in your face all the time...it's a very self paced learning program - which is nice. The ride up the mountain with one of the extreme type drivers is more of a scare then the actual flying a paraglider....just a heads up. read more

Had one heck of a good time with these guys. I flew with Jonny and the wife flew with Stephen. Both really knew the sport well, were confident in their abilities, and really showed our group a fantastic time. They can throttle the ride from tame to insane depending on your cup of tea. An exhilarating and unforgettable experience for my husband and my 13 year old daughter! My husband is a bit of a daredevil and this was the perfect gift for him for Father's Day. My daughter is also an adventuresome sort but she was sooo nervous. Johnny (my husband's pilot) and my daughter's paragliding pilot, Steve, put her at ease. Are you kidding me? A quick drive to San Bernardino to the paragliding site and now I can cross off a bucket list item. Why haven't I tried this before? Because I had never met Jonny! As a pilot, he was very informed and confident and I felt instantly safe and in good hands with his new gear and calm personality. He is clearly respected by the community of other paraglider"s too which speaks volumes in business.
