It also consistently schedules a fantastic range of live music, from Irish folk bands, to more modern Indie style groups who perform a range of covers. We did a trip with a multisite pass for Bramall Hall, Stockport Hat Works and the Air Raid Shelters in Stockport - highly recommend this day out!

Instead, it has enough cool places to keep you occupied for years but at the same time mean you can become a regular places with fomo. Plus, it still keeps surprising you. Manchester has some of the coolest event venues I've ever been to, such as Victoria Warehouse and the gorgeous Albert Hall. The Victorian Gothic Monastery perhaps out impresses even those venues. A Franciscan church and friary from the 1860s, it was formerly on the top 100 most endangered monuments in the world. Now beautifully restored, I entered through the lovely cloisters and was stunned entering the soaring nave, made even more striking with coloured lighting plus an aerialist display! I attended for a large work party of about 250 people. It's a really huge space so any less than this and it might feel a bit empty - imagine how big the weddings here are! We really enjoyed our salmon starter, which had a well-balanced lemon and caper dressing. The chicken supreme was standard but not dry at all and I thought good for a catered meal. The lemon tart for dessert was very nice, although too large portion for most If you're looking for somewhere really special to have an event, this has to be on your list.

The school blue exterior is shocking but inside it's simply decorated with brick walls, wooden tables and chairs and awesome, limited edition, music and film posters. They have cool singer-songwriters playing occasionally and deejays like Twisted Nerve / Finders Keepers boss Andy Votel playing a couple of nights each week. Drinks wise, they stock everything from quality spirits to great local ales whilst foodies have a choice of homemade soup or a cheese board with strong cheddars and local bread from the Barbikan deli. For me personally though, it's all about the great tunes, friendly staff and the fact you can hear Wendy & Bonnie whilst sipping your Guiness!

Owned by the Eclectic Group (also own the Great John Street Hotel in Manchester as well as other establishements), memberships are in-expensive (around £10 p/m), for which you get the opportunity to work from or just relax in their wonderful facilities - and feel that little bit special. The staff are extremly attentive and Alisha the membership manager, takes time to get to know all her members and what you like/dislike about the facilities. Private booths and boardroom style rooms are available to hire for meetings or social gatherings and the venue can be hired as a whole for weddings and/or parties. The piece-de-resistance is a small cinema room (seating about 30 people) that from time to time shows films (family friendly ones in half term) and can again be hired out for a private function. The menu is varied and offers a selection of sandwiches, steaks, burgers and breakfast options. I've yet to try the afternoon tea - but I've seen it and it looks amazing. Members are invited to lots of free events from business breakfast networking to after-work cocktail masterclasses (and the cocktails are yummy!). Guests are entitled sign-in to non-members when visiting On the 7th (not sure how many per time) and non-members can attend all events for a small fee too. Access is via a reception opposite Costa Coffee, where you'll be sign-posted to a lift taking you to the seventh floor to the aptly named On the 7th. Only open Mon - Fri at present. There is an authentic rural feel here as the winding roads have restricted speeds and there are no street lights. The Well Barn courtyard is easily located off the main street and houses a diverse mix of shops including: a craft shop, a holistic therapy and well being store, Corinthian furniture and a plumbing company. The stableyard itself is often used s an event space for community gatherings such as the recent summer fete. It's a really beautiful area with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The Well Barn is easily accessed from Liverpool or Southport but retains the peace of the countryside.
