Had an absolutely amazing time last weekend for my son's 14th birthday. We had kids of all ages…read more(from age 6 to 36) and all had a great time. We chose the 1.5 hour option and it was perfect...can not recommend it enough. Perfect for birthday parties of all ages (6+) and would be a great day out for hen/stag dos or even just friends getting together to get their competitive fix. Tip-bring water, you'll get hot and sweaty!

I was asked by the Wife to arrange her birthday party for her. "Something active- I've never tried…read morelaser questing before" And thats how I found this place. Tired of the typical bowling alley/ laser quest combos for kids, I had done laser games many many times before (remember £7 unlimited laser and bowling back in the 90's?), but had never played it outdoors. After speaking to Nick the event organiser, I was assured this wasn't just for children, and promptly booked for 20 adults in middle of February. Obviously a bit weary of potential bad weather, Nick told me he had never cancelled a party due to the weather before. The lead up was very well done. You have ample time to pay your deposit, and are given access to the members area where you can enter the names of the children (or adults), and read health and safety information in preparation for the day. Easy to find, it is situated at Parrs Wood Highschool behind the Entertainment Complex. In 90 minutes we played 6 games, using realistic guns with optical scopes. The marshalls were helpful and the games were varied and very entertaining. The weather did hold out in the end, but don't not be afraid to get muddy as you can shower and change in the school gym afterwards. As always, never wear your best clothes to these events! Several of my friends had never done this before, and including myself would gladly do this again! One gripe which came from this- the equipment could do with a makeover, but much better than the indoors stuff.

Fortunately I've got an official looking doctors note to state I must never enter the premises, so it's rare I have to make the pilgrimage. Wacky is a word which needs tying up in an Asda bin bag and dropped along into a stretch of the Irwell. Perhaps they should start with changing the names (and ridiculous graphics) and have a complete overhaul of the business. It is the pre-eminent kids plays centre in the uk, but I'm assuming that's down to the lack of competition. I always get hit in the face bits with an aroma of junior wee and shake n vac when I have the misfortune to find myself destined to shave years off my life sitting inside these 'fun palaces'. The kids obviously love them (which I suppose is entirely the point), although it's not unusual to spot bouts of ball wars (in the ball park) and the kids try and pelt the colourful, spherical missiles towards each others necks and eyes resulting in salt water seeping from said eyes.it's just that they could make the effort to entertain the adults a little bit more - decent scran and good coffee and a set of newspaper would be a start. Head over heels does it better.

Awful! Only suffer this place with the kids if they get invited to a party here. The food's over…read morecooked and like tasteless rubber, the staff a miserable and rude and the play and activity equipment means a good clean and repair. The ball pool in particular is filthy and the mats are all torn and grubby.

As well as a fully equipped gym and tennis courts it has a 25 metre indoor swimming pool, a slightly smaller outdoor swimming pool (with sun loungers for when it's sunny in the summer months), an array of classes for all members held 7 days a week, a Saks hair dressers, beauty salon, sportswear shop, lovely cafe with delicious food, plenty of comfy seating, an adult only quiet area, a children's soft play area, and a partridge in a pear treeeeee! The staff there are really polite and always greet you with a smile on their face. The personal trainers and really approachable - I know they've helped me out with an occasional fitness question from time to time. And I would highly recommend Suzie's Fitness Pilates class on a Saturday and the Hatha Yoga class with Caroline on a Sunday. The only thing stopping David Lloyd being a 5 star for me, is that recently they had a refit of new equipment and only put in small numbers of certain machines. Which means on a busy evening or weekend there is usually always a wait for the powerplate for example. On a whole, I think this is one of the best gyms in the Cheadle/Gatley area.

Join up, but take on board the one and only thing that lets David Lloyd down as a club.. and sadly its not something that they can do anything about... Kids. I don't like boys watching females change their clothes. Its creepy. I don't like kids rushing around screaming, when adults want to relax by the pool. I could list all the unhygienic and irritating things that kids do, but you get the idea. If you feel like being around other people's noisy bratty kids, is like being in a nightmare, then David Lloyd is not the club for you. If they ever wanted to build an adults-only pool? Or have adults-only changing rooms? Or cater for kids food in an area that is completely away from adults?. Then it would be THE perfect club. But at the moment, it is what it is... child friendly.. and if you're not, find another club.
