Management have been leaving voicemail full so there is no one to get in touch with. I have sent stuff to corparate and still nothing is done. I have even requested a window unit until something get done because i seen them give them out to other units but no action in my place. The only reason i am still here is the pool and I can't afford to move yet. I have rusty vent grills that i have ask to have painted with no luck but they have been painted so many times the vents want close or open with the knob. Shelves have been there so long they are worped. I have pitures of air conditioner saying 72 and its 87 degrees or on 69 degrees and 90 in the apartment.

Since Shalonda has become the property manager (about 2015) things have changed for the better. She has done different things for the resident that make us feel appreciated such as a cookout and Halloween door contest. Most recently we have had our parking lot repaved, the lighting on the property is brighter, the sidewalks have been fixed. There are somethings on the property that still need work but I feel as though it is coming in the future.

Overall, my experience wasn't horrible, and at one point I even considered renewing my lease. However, there were several recurring issues that ultimately made me decide not to stay. One of my biggest frustrations was the lack of organization within the leasing office. There was quite a bit of back-and-forth during my leasing term, particularly when I was looking at resigning my lease. On multiple occasions, units I was viewing or interested in seemed to become unavailable or were given to someone else, which made the process unnecessarily frustrating. The elevators were by far my biggest issue. They seemed to be out of service far too often. There were many days when I would come home to find the elevators broken and would have to take the stairs. This became especially challenging when moving in and out of the building and carrying heavy items. For a multi-story apartment building, having consistently functioning elevators is a pretty basic expectation. Another issue was cleanliness related to the number of dogs in the community. There are a lot of residents with dogs, myself included, but I frequently encountered urine and feces throughout different areas of the building. To be fair, management appeared to make an effort to clean up after these incidents, but there didn't seem to be an effective way to hold residents accountable for repeatedly allowing their pets to make messes in common areas. There was also a significant amount of turnover within the leasing and management office during my time here. I went through three different property managers during my lease, and by the time I moved out, essentially the entire staff I had originally worked with was gone. There was constantly rotating staff, which made it difficult to establish consistency and, at times, made communication feel disjointed. That said, there were things I genuinely enjoyed about living here, and my experience was not entirely negative. I initially saw enough potential in the community that I actually considered renewing. However, the combination of inconsistent management, frequent elevator issues, cleanliness concerns, and staff turnover ultimately outweighed the positives for me. I think this community has a lot of potential, but there are some operational and maintenance issues that need to be addressed to create a consistently positive resident experience.

Elevators are continually out of service (too cheap to replace). The building is dirty, the carpets are gross and smell. The wallpaper in the common areas is peeling of the wall. The management staff couldn't care less about your issues. They make it obvious that you are bothering them. They allow the homeless cleaning staff sleep on the sofas in the common areas at night. And the bugs! Sooo many bugs. The lawn gets mowed maybe once a week, it looks like a jungle out there. They will tow cars one day and not the next. They pick and choose when they want to inforce the rules. Currently they are about 20 empty apartments, and I would guess more would open as most folks want out. No one wants to stay. This could be a great place if it was managed by a different company who cares about the building and the tenants.

I've had to get myself a Cat just because the traps they DONT CHECK or CHANGE OFTEN don't work. I was told that the maintenance would come and drill into the walls to help prevent the mice from entering my apartment but that has NOT happened and it's been at least 2 months since i was told. THE mice problem is getting worst, & they GO up on the rent with no problem, and the elevators work SOMETIMES in a 10 story building. the Lobby ALWAYS smells like sewage, and the hallways are unbearably hot!

I receive a bs letter today 12/29 along with other residents in Park Forest that as of January 1st…read morethey will be a pet free community and we have to remove our pets by February 1st. Now most of us have been here for years and to remove our pets in 30 days is bs. At least give us 90 days or even charge a pet fee. Our companions aren't just pets they are family. I will definately be giving my 30 day notice on Tuesday. To hit us with this rite after Xmas is heartless. Of course no one is answering the phone. I understand the decision, but more than half the residents have pets, so you are willing to loose half your residents for something that makes no sense.
