Why two tvs?? Around 1 bed
    Jennifer S.

We booked this balcony room for a get away relaxing night. The view was wonderful. The room was fine....but the room connects to another without any insulation so when the kids behind the connecting door woke up at 0545....so did we. It's been non stop noise from their room so we did not sleep well. The ice machine is literally right outside our door, so kids are playing with the machine, it's loud. So trying to get away for some peaceful alone time is not what we had. The breakfast buffet was not good, processed egg product, all food was just reheated. Staff seemed annoyed having to refill the coffee carafes. Housekeeping staff was lovely.

Time to head in to work at the convention center which is located across the Bridge!

The amenities were great from an indoor pool and more to a Bistro with Breakfast included. Being there for 6 nights it was nice to have a beauty rest bed and excellent cleaners. Desk was polite throughly and my Shuttle Driver to the Airport named Robert was accommodating to the Max.

On the inside the decorations look new and fresh. The view of the river was great from the balcony. I appreciated how big the mini fridge was. The bathroom was smaller than what I expected. They have an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room downstairs. Overall, not a bad place to stay.

Really nice, spacious room with the best bed ever

Overall a great hotel. This was the most comfortable bed I ever slept in. I had three amazing nights of sleep. I definitely recommend getting a Riverview room as high up as possible... You get a really great view of the river. The people who worked at the hotel were very nice. My complaints were that breakfast was mediocre, the hotel doesn't have in-room safes, and the water dispenser on my floor was broken. For sure if I return to Spokane, I will stay here. In fact, I might even return to Spokane just to sleep in that bed.

Checked into my room today and was very surprised with the level of quality for the money. The king suite is very spacious with a partial view of the river. The room is very clean with high quality toiletries and the bed seems very comfortable as well. Some great walking around the river and great restaurants very close by.

Bath amenities in bulk sizes, like you'd find in a gym,not a fine hotel.

The Oxford Suites in downtown Spokane on the Spokane River is a study in contradiction. It hits it out of the park is some areas but fails completely in others, particularly for those guests seeking an upmarket experience. I booked our room, a River View King Suite, directly through the hotel's website. That's important because, when we arrived, we found the hotel was being remodeled. The website had made no mention of that. In my estimation, it should have. But a small matter, as the workday ended well before the evening hours. The Good: Every staff member with whom we interacted was absolutely professional. From the desk clerk who checked us in (and even tried to call us while we were on the road) to the evening bartenders to those attending guests (and keeping overly exuberant kids in check) at the complimentary breakfast, everyone was polite, efficient and engaging. Check-in was handled quickly and efficiently, with the clerk providing us with coupons for complimentary drinks at the manager's reception and breakfast the following morning before directing us to the elevator. Our suite, No. 227, was quite large: over 26 feet by more than 14 feet, providing over 365 square feet of living area. At 8 foot 9 inches, tall ceilings contributed to the room's spacious feel. The suite was well-appointed, furnished with one king bed, a sofa sleeper, work desk, refrigerator, microwave, flat-screen TV, coffeemaker, iron/ironing board, and wireless internet. The balcony was about 3 feet by 8 feet and had a couple of chairs, allowing us to relax and enjoy the view of the adjacent river. The work station included plenty of A/C and USB outlets to charge the variety of electronics with which we travel. Wireless Internet speed offered download speeds of 3.9 Mbps and upload speeds of 3.7 Mbps, as measured by Speakeasy.net/Speedtest. Better than most, although not best in class. Both the bed and the convertible sofa appeared fairly new and were very comfortable. Floor lamps next to the sofa made for easy reading after dark. The property also offers a swimming pool, fitness room, and a well-stocked 24-hour pantry. The Bad: When I made our reservation, I specifically requested a room without connecting doors. It's not a security issue for me so much as a noise issue. My experience has been that adjoining doors allow much more sound to be transmitted than solid walls, and that proved to be the case at the Oxford Suites. However, we were told, "All the balcony suites have adjoining doors," and were offered a room without a balcony. That rather missed the point of why I'd chosen that room type. The room also failed to deliver an upmarket experience in a number of other areas. The suite was cooled by a wall air conditioner instead of central A/C, which was one miss. Another was that the work station was right next to the air conditioner, which blew directly onto the desk and the person sitting there when it came on. Another miss. In addition, the room had only a Keurig coffee maker (a minor miss) and lacked an in-room safe (a bigger miss). The biggest misses, however, had to do with the washroom facilities. The sink was situated in the guest room; in an upscale property, it would be a separate room with the tub, shower and toilet. In our guest suite, a small-ish bathroom contained only the combination tub-shower and toilet. The room was so small that we had to open the door to have enough elbow room to towel off after our showers. Higher-end hotels have tub surrounds that are tile or solid surface; the surround in our suite was a cheap-looking, one-piece fiberglass affair of the kind found in tract homes. Bath amenities - bath gel, shampoo and conditioner - were in bulk-sized bottles like you'd find in a gym and were mounted on the wall of the shower. Again, far from an upmarket experience. Finally, the shower head emitted a high-pitched squeal when water was diverted to it, doubtless annoying the people staying in the next room. The Ugly: Beverage and dining venues had issues. A sister property where we have stayed previously, the Oxford Suites in Bend, Ore., has a warm, inviting restaurant and lounge on the basement level. The breakfast room in the basement of the Spokane property was a bit Spartan but fine; the bar, on the other hand, looked like an afterthought, crammed into a disused corner of the room. Though the servers were very convivial, the bar itself was dark, cramped, and not inviting. The next morning, the issue with the adjoining doors came home to roost when the guests in the adjoining room got up at 6 a.m. and started talking. They weren't inappropriately loud; they were just up, preparing for the day, and having their conversation at a normal level. Nonetheless, we were awakened perhaps two hours earlier than we'd have liked because I went against my better judgment and accepted a room with adjoining doors.

Unfortunately, their experience was genuinely awful. They dropped off their luggage and went out with friends. When they returned later that night and pulled back the sheets to get into bed, they found pubic hair on the bedding. They immediately called the front desk to report it. They were told someone would come up with fresh sheets. When staff finally arrived, all they brought was a single top sheet -- wet and smelling strongly of bleach. The employee left before my parents could say anything else, and no additional bedding was provided. They had no choice but to put the damp, bleach‑smelling sheet on the bed and try to sleep. My mom ended up with a rash that lasted four days from that sheet. They have tried calling multiple times since to speak with someone about the situation, but no one has returned their calls.

We stayed on the top floor facing north with a view below of the First Interstate Center which is a short journey using the covered skywalk. It wasn't busy at this time in early February and the common areas were quiet, though we've been there during New Year's Eve when it's pretty bustling. We usually book the Penthouse King Suite with fireplace, which is as spacious as a small apartment with 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette/bar area with mini fridge. Rooms have always been spotless. The bed is super comfortable. Robes are provided as well as extra blankets. We always bring our own Firestick with us when we travel, but we've noticed in every room that we've ever stayed at here that the TV input is not able to be changed to accommodate plugging into the HDMI port. Table 13 restaurant was closed for renovations, but the dining lounge was open and we get consistently good service and food at a reasonable price there. Room service breakfast for two cost about $70 (including service fee and tip) for a full breakfast entree, a fruit plate, and a kid's plate of pancakes. I wish that parking was more economical. At $28 per night, it's a bit steep. For comparison, we stayed the next night at the nearby Montvale Hotel where parking is $10 in their lot. Overall a very nice hotel and conveniently located in downtown Spokane.

Located on the south side of the river and what appears to be the heart of downtown, it was relatively easy to get to, and literally across the street from where we were seeing a show. The place is really large with something like 14 or 15 levels, and a room that we very much enjoyed! The beds were large, the mattresses were really nice and the view was lovely! The shower was also quite solid. It was one that did not have a door, but was fashioned such that you didn't get water all over the bathroom floor. It also had one of the best showerheads we've ever experienced! It was like getting sprayed off with a warm hose. It was a bummer that they didn't have a pool and hot tub here, but the workout facilities were really nice, and if you are looking for a pool, staying here, you get access to the pool and hot tub at the sister hotel downtown. We didn't make use of it, but it's a nice offer. We were about five minutes from downtown, and walked to a couple of restaurants for both dinner and breakfast. Parking was easy with an option for self parking or valet. The parking garage was connected to the building, and overall made things very easy. I really went back-and-forth between a four and five on this property, but overall it was a really nice spot with nice amenities and the pool was really the only thing that was lacking. It gets the five star bump!

It's easy to get to but there are pros and cons to that - as it's in a very popular area, with a college nearby, tons of restaurants with zero tables (all reserved, even in the middle of the week), and just a medium walk to the big Riverside mall and the famous Spokane falls, not to mention an events center where, apparently, a major concert was happening on the night of our stay (thus the sold out-ed-ness of everything, I guess?). Bummer about the crowdedness and the busyness. Very cool about the gorgeous hotel, the premium lobby with the most delicious lemonade water we have ever had, and free cookies, the comfy room with a sliding door onto the grass so we could easily walk the dog. Be warned that this hotel is so close to the hotel across the street that when we ordered out for dinner, the address showed up over there.

We heard rumors about this being one of Spokane's most haunted hotels and I can see how one might get a vibe that there's presence in the hotel. It was built in 1899, was abandoned for decades, and renovated. They did a beautiful job keeping up the historic aspects of the furnishings, and even the music in the halls was a little spooky. But rest assured, there were no spirits haunting our unit! Our room was adjacent to the Events Center and the building is structured such that we didn't hear the noise from the event going on at the time unless we put our ear to their door down the hall. It is easy to get lost because our room was in the 300's numbers but on the second floor, while other rooms in the 300's are on the third floor. There are two sets of elevators that take you to different parts of the connected buildings. If you're looking for the fitness center in the basement, don't use the elevator from the lobby or that will put you into the restaurant below. The amenities were great. It was like an entire apartment with a full kitchen and all the kitchenware to make it feel like home, plus it had a walk-in pantry. There was a big screen TV in every room and it was easy to hook up our own Firestick. I wished it had a second bathroom, and more hangers, as it does accommodate 4 people. The shower could use a shelf -- you have to put your bath toiletries on the floor of the shower. Bath robes and decor throughout made it cozy. The water vapor electric fireplace was a nice touch in the living room and we had a north facing view of the city surroundings. There was a dedicated room for washer and dryer, and they provide the detergents. The parking lot is small (about 15 spaces), and there's an overflow lot further away. There are several entry/exit doors on both First Av and Monroe St so that's a little confusing, but load in at the front entrance. It's conveniently located near the Fox and Bing theaters and several dining options. Our stay included free breakfast at Rosie's Restaurant. Overall a very nice stay!
