Oxford Cafe

What a great breakfast place! Every time I visit New York City for work in the financial district, I like to try out new restaurants! Looking for breakfast places in the area, I stumbled upon Oxford Café, which was relatively closed to the hotel that I was staying at! I entered the Oxford Café around 7:00 A.M. This is a great quick service restaurant. There is plenty of seating inside the café too if you wanted to eat your meal here! Looking at the menu, there was a lot of breakfast options such as bagels, eggs, sandwiches, and so much more! There was even some pastries and muffins available! I ended up making a custom order of a plain bagel, with American cheese, eggs, and bacon. I also ordered a large hot chocolate with whipped cream. I didn't wait too long for the order, less than 10 minutes! The hot chocolate was delicious! Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to eat my bagel, bacon, egg, and cheese until 9:00 A.M. Luckily, the bagel was still relatively warm. It was delicious! The bagel had plenty of bacon and was loaded with eggs. Everything tasted so fresh! I'll have to try to come to the Oxford Café for lunch! Their sandwich menu looked awesome!

Chicken Caesar Wrap and Jack of the River salad

Had lunch with my colleagues at this establishment which is just a few minutes walk from our office and this place never disappoints. The staff is fast and friendly though the lady who took my salad order was a bit annoyed when I asked for extra kale. Don't know what that was about. Anyhoo we shared a chicken Caesar Wrap and a Jack of the River salad which were super crunchy and delicious. The price was reasonable compared to the other places nearby. There's always a place to seat which we were in luck and enjoyed are lunch break. Would recommend for their extensive menus and reasonably priced items. Will come back here to try out there breakfast menu.

Bacon, 2xegg, cheese bagel.

We stayed in the double tree around the corner. Stopped in for a quick breakfast. Overall seemed pretty quality and a decent menu - priced pretty fairly. I got a bacon egg and cheese bagel, hard to mess up but it was good. Would come back for a good value and quick meal.

It was my first morning in NYC, and I was hungry. I ordered the egg, cheese, with home fried potato wrap. My husband ordered the turkey wrap. We both agreed my choice tasted the best. It had a lot to do with the potatoes! Yummy yummy. There's a lot to chose from at this cafe. Don't get discouraged just pick a wrap that contains the potatoes. The service was fantastic. I enjoyed watching the guys cook as I ate. The cafe was clean. It was very busy when we first arrived but after 20 mins people arrived. It looked to me like the workers in the area were the customers. I recommend this cafe!

Located on Broad St. & Stone St. in the Financial District, lower Manhattan. This Café is near our hotel and we decided to try it this morning as we needed our caffeine. We ordered regular coffee with a '2-egg & ham Sandwich on a plain bagel'. We loved their regular brew hot coffee but that bagel Sandwich was amazing. Prices are very fair and our Sandwich portion was generous. Service was very efficient. The Café was clean and organized. Overall, we had a great experience here and will definitely return while in town.

Anyone who ordered the egg wrap got diarrhea.

In a few words - we all got the runs ... and I'm not talking about our feet. Thank you to the hyped up egg wrap - basically a bland sad "breakfast burrito" - at least it flushed itself out.

Luchador lunch egg roll

My wife and I stopped in here before taking a ride on the Staten Island ferry as part of a city break and I was immediately impressed by the range on offer. I had the luchador egg roll which was fantastic and filling, prepared to order and delicious. My wife had an everything bagel with cream cheese, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The staff are friendly and the service is good. I was impressed by the value for money as well, which made me very happy. The decaf coffee was good, although a café au lait as opposed to a nice foamy latte. Otherwise a great little place and would very much recommend.

Mediocre food, plastic utensils, uncomfortable seating. Forgot to make the order for someone in our party.

I got the market salad with grilled chicken which was very filling and packed with flavor. The grilled chicken was an add on so cost a little bit more than $25 but still an amazing deal. 10/10 recommend!

Think vintage wallpaper, little knick-knacks, and warm lighting. It's got character. I ordered the market salad with mixed greens, honeycrisp apples, goat cheese, candied pecans, and sherry vinaigrette. It was a hearty portion - super fresh and flavorful, and honestly more than I could finish (not a complaint!). I also ordered a Diet Pepsi with grenadine; they don't carry Diet Coke, which I almost docked a point for, but the mix was unexpectedly delicious. Highly recommend it. My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

Sarge’s Delicatessen & Diner - Corned beef and pastrami

After a weekend of rich, indulgent meals, we were looking for something a little more…read morestraightforward and comforting. We also wanted to try a classic pastrami on rye--but without committing to the long lines at Katz's Delicatessen. Sarge's ended up being the perfect alternative, just a quick five-minute walk from our hotel. We arrived around 5:00 pm on a Sunday and were seated right away, which already felt like a win. The meal started with coleslaw and both a half sour and full sour pickle--such a classic deli touch, and a great way to kick things off. I ordered the half sandwich with matzah ball soup, and the portion sizes were no joke. The soup alone could have been a full meal: a huge bowl with an equally massive matzah ball. The broth was warm and soothing, and the matzah ball was incredibly light with a perfect texture. The half pastrami on rye was just as impressive. Even "half" was stacked high with flavorful, tender pastrami. Adding a bit of mustard from the table brought everything together--it was simple, classic, and exactly what I was hoping for. Not only was it one of the more reasonably priced meals of the trip, but it was also genuinely satisfying. If you're looking for a no-fuss, traditional deli experience without the wait, Sarge's is a great option.

Service was so bad she deserved no tip whatsoever. On top of that, the food was overpriced and nowhere near worth the attitude.
