I stayed at about 10 different places during 3 weeks in the UK and The Trout might've been one of my favorites. The room was lovely, the building equally so, the food quite good, and the outdoor space 100% inviting. I ordered crab, and had to wait ages for the crackers and finger bowl, we were tired of waiting by this time it was in a very rich sauce which one made it rather messy! We recieved no apology for the long waits and maybe if they had gone to the effort of apologising we would go back and give them another chance. But sorry that was your last!

The owners of the inn are also cattle farmers of the Irish Dexter. They are grass fed only for three years and dry aged 30-50'days. The result? Fabulous marveled beef that melted in my mouth. The.hard work and has paid off.
