The shop is quite large, taking up a double frontage in the row of shops. It is one of the most popular charity shops in Ulverston in as much as it is always busy. I find it expensive.

Unfortunately I do not recommend anyone to volunteer here. I left as a volunteer because the manager was a nightmare basically because she doesn't value volunteers. So if you ever want to volunteer here please be aware you will be given no proper respect or rights as a volunteer. You will be overworked with rare breaks, will be exposed to trash talking, discrimination and bullying. If you're reading, manager, you should take a long think because if you carry on putting volunteers down, you will fail this charity and you will ruin the company's reputation. Is that really worth the risk?

Ford Park is the largest open space in Ulverston. The park is run by a charitable trust of local people, who are also attempting to renovate Ford Park House, which is a grade II listed building. There is a Recording and rehearsal studio in the Coach House which is frequently booked by local young aspiring musicians. A community center has been developed here where there are rooms to hire. Ford park is great, whether you just want some fresh air, to join in volunteer work, or have a fun day out, at an event.
