Nothing which I have bought there has broken the bank, often being cheaper than I expected. As WhyBelieve said, it's a boon having it in the Town center. Their hardware is better than the other supposed Hardware shop in town, and it is frequented by people from the trade, which is always reasuring. It always helps that the owner is always pleasant, even on a bad day.

Going into this store is a bit like a step back in time but the owner is great and most helpful and stocks such a lot of useful things and all at a reasonable price. The shop is in town which is very useful if you are wanting to just pop in and get something while you are visiting other shops in town. If he doesn't have what you want he can order things for you. He is great for advice and tips to about what would be best to use for a project if you are a little stuck.

Homebase is situated on a retail park just outside of the town centre. As with most DIY stores it…read moresells everything from wallpaper and point, to screws and wood. There is also a reasonable sized garden centre, and upstairs on the second floor there is a kitchen and bathroom showroom. Homebase is not as cheap as some other DIY stores but the service is generally better and the staff are much more helpful than elsewhere. However, very often there is a lack of staff on the tills, making the queues quite long at times. Homebase also has a rather nice range of ornament s and mirrors to set off any decorating jobs.
