I only ever go into Oxfam (just one of several charity shops in Prescot town centre) for the books, as it generally has the biggest and best selection of books in the town. I have been a bit disappointed lately, as it seems to be mostly cheesy bestsellers, and few of the older paperbacks (Penguin etc) that I most enjoy. However, still head and shoulders above the other ones. There's plenty of the other usual stuff, too, eg clothes, bric-a-brac. It makes it worthwhile going into Prescot, as there is little of interest left on Eccleston Street these days. read more
