Best pies around this area. I don't buy them anymore because of my sugar issues, but I would if I could. I have to drive into Tyler now for sugar free stuff. read more

Visited yesterday for the first time. Actually had lunch across the street at Pint and Barrel and had a couple there suggest going to Oxbow for a piece of pie. My wife got the French Coconut. It was very tasty but oh so very rich. Definitely a nibbling pie, a little now and a little later due to the richness of it. I had the Key Lime and was honestly not impressed at all. Actually didn't even finish my pie. Have eaten much better Key Limes at various other locations all across the country. They had several other pies available so if we go back I will definitely go with something else. read more

I'm from out of town, and tried oxbow pies yesterday. I got the pecan pie and lemon chess. Both were phenomenal. Inside a cute store with retail. Cannot wait to try all the other pies! Everyone in the store was super friendly and helped right away. The employee gave suggestions and I'm sure every pie from there is 10/10. Highly recommend. read more

Best place ever if you love pie. Have several slices to share and eat on the front porch.

I pick one of their pies up when I come in to visit my folks. They remind me of the pies we used to get at Presley Crook Pharmacy when I was a young girl...a long time ago. Crust is buttery and flakey. They have quite the production going when you go inside. You have to plan ahead but it's worth it. read more

We stopped by to get pie as was recommended by someone at El Toro Mexican Restaurant (also delicious Tex Mex food in Palestine) and I'm glad we did! We had the chocolate pecan, buttermilk, and coconut and all three were delicious. The crust is the best and I will be back the next time we are in town. read more

Oxbow serves the best pies I've ever had. There is a lot to choose from. I ordered a slice of lemon ice box pie. My friend ordered a slice of buttermilk pecan pie. We also shared a piece of tres Leches cake. All three were insanely delicious. I was interested in their buttermilk pie, but they had run out. I've had really good buttermilk pie somewhere else, but it's a tricky dish to make. Most restaurants that serve it, make it very bland. So, I was betting Oxbow had mastered it. I had a bite of my friend's buttermilk pecan and it was out of this world good. These folks know what they're doing! There was so much selection, we had to order more to go. She ordered a slice of turtle cheesecake and I ordered their popular chocolate meringue. We saved them for dessert after dinner that night. Wow, we were amazed again. Also attached to the bakery, is a really neat antique shop. Lots of charming items there at reasonable prices. The people who worked there were very nice and helpful... I guess you could say they are sweet! Check out Oxbow. You will love it. read more

Came here for dessert. They sell all kinds of pies and cheesecakes. I had the turtle cheesecake which was disappointing because the cheesecake itself was very salty. Im not sure if that's what they intended. All the other pies and cakes looked delicious. I might try them out 1 more time. But as far as that turtle cheesecake. I'm not getting that ever again! read more

Oxbow Bakery was completely under water due to the East Texas flood, Friday, April 29th. Fortunately the Oxbow was closed but, many of the old Palestine antiques/artifacts and the Antique Bakery equipment was damaged/lost. =( Many of the restaurants and Cotton Gin Bar will surely make a come back. So many volunteers were helping with the cleanup this weekend. read more

We were driving through and wanted to grab something sweet. This place was not a disappointment. Very cute store and friendly staff. Recommend you to stop by, maybe make it there in the morning and not late like we did (at noon ). There weren't many pies left but we did manage to get two slices of pie. The pineapple and chocolate icebox. Both were delicious. [4 stars cause I didn't get the pie I wanted]. read more

Decided to take a day trip from Dallas to try the pie at this bakery I kept seeing pop up everywhere! Tried the pineapple cream and chocolate icebox. Let me preface this by saying, I REALLY love my desserts...the pineapple was good but the chocolate was amazing! Also, the prices were great! $3.50 for a slice is so much better than the $6/slice I encounter in the Dallas area. Definitely worth the drive!!! read more

Oh sweet baby Jesus, just take my money! $12 for 3 slices of pie. Take it! Choose a whole pie or slices of pie. This place had a steady stream of people in and out, including what appeared to be some regulars cackling in a booth together. (Life hack - I watched this hopping place from across the road at another restaurant, slipped over here for dessert to bring back to the patio of the restaurant. I regret nothing). Service was attentive and fast. Even entertained me calling someone else and going through all the flavors in the case. The cherry was bomb diggity. Graham cracker crust with pecans hidden. Heaven in every bite. Ordered extra just to take home! Don't tell my grandma, but might've been better than her cherry icebox pie. If you're driving through Palestine - you've got to add this to your stop of places. read more

This family bakery had the best pies I have ever tasted! Definitely award winning! Their chocolate pecan pie was so rich and the pie crust was perfection! Oxbow Pies - Chocolate Pecan - Bakeries Near Me - Palestine, Texas

Some of the pies are good . We did have our favorites . We went to Palestine to ride the train. We were told to be at the train depot by 10:15. The Oxbow bakery opens at 10:00 AM I called and spoke with the son . I explained our situation about our time frame because of the train and told him we wanted to buy pies. We were planning to take our ice chest to keep them cold while we were on the train. Train didn't come back until 3:00 So I asked if they could open a little earlier .. He informed me "We open at 10:00" and he also said ," We are closing at 1:00 for a private event " Well that didn't matter to me because the train didn't get back to the depot until 3:00 and I knew they would be closed .. Every time we have been in Rusk or Palestine we have gone there .I think we have tried every pie. They were all ok ,but we did have our favorites . I'm sorry to say we will NOT be returning . I'm sure they are big enough or sell enough they won't miss our business .. To me a family owned business should have been a little more flexible ..What really made it sad was this guys attitude .He never said Sorry not possible to open Just We aren't gonna open early at all WE OPEN @ 10:00 From my understanding it's a Mom & Son I have to wonder if the Mom would have treated a customer like that .... read more

You can't really go wrong with anything here. The Chocolate ice box amazing, lemon ice box amazing! Pies are wonderful! Always a hit with family and friends! My go to place for dessert

I have some choice words about this place: TRY. THEIR. CHOCOLATE. PECAN. PIE. It is to die for. The man in the table next to us chimed in that their coffee is also the best in the area. I have to agree. Very kind and welcoming service, without being overbearing in any way. Also, great atmosphere and although the antique shop is small, it kept our interest for nearly an hour. So much cool stuff in there, and you find cooler stuff on the second and third perusing! read more

Another visit to Oxbow Pies. Out for a Saturday drive. Pecan Praline & Fresh Strawberry. The best pie crust, light & flaky. Good assortment made. Antique side was closed & their hours are limited for the time being. read more

I bought a slice of the chocolate pecan pie and took it home. If I had tasted it first, I would have bought an entire pie. I thought it was maybe to expensive for me to go back again, but after tasting it, I know it was worth the cost. It basically cost as much as you would pay for a dessert at a place like Chilis. The antiques were cute, some reminded me of things from my childhood. I will definitely be returning. read more
