Marks & Spencer

Marks & Spencer

So it's Marks and Spencer, we all know Marks and Spencer, penny bazaar, knickknacks, one stall, one…read moreshop, one, two, three, ten in every town. If legend is to be believed, it all started in Leeds, and today there are hundreds of Marks and Sparks up and down the country, granted Pudsey M&S may not be the gargantuan size of the London flagship, but it certainly gives it a run for its money. It is HUGE. Open from 9am to 8pm most days, there's plenty of time to trawl through all the floors and departments that this Marks' has to offer. You have got your usual M&S staples, middle aged clothing for both men and women, but this branch stocks the more sophisticated Autograph range and the more teen oriented Per Una lines. Menswear expands to the Blue Harbour range for the fellas, and there's the Spark's basics for all school uniforms across the land. It doesn't end there, the homewears section is large to say the least, and there's a full showroom of sofas and chairs on display too. If you want flowers, there here, if you want tailor made furniture or curtains, you can get them ordered here, tailor made? There's a tailoring service on men's and women's clothing. Marks and Spencer food? Yeah it's here also. You're hungry and you want to eat, then skip on by the café area and grab a bite to eat and a hot beverage. Speaking of food, you can order cakes here too. Can't be bothered to think for yourself? Get a personal shopper. They really have covered all bases, good effort Marks and Spencer.

B&M seems to have filled the void that Woolworths left behind and, although I'm not sad to see…read moreWoolies go, I'm not exactly enthusiastic to see B&M arrive. I don't mean to be mean but I'm just non-plussed when it comes to this kind of store. In fairness, B&M is much more of a Wilko's-a-like than a Woolies. Wandering in I must admit I was taken aback at how busy it was for a school day - there were people all over the place grabbing bargains and queueing for dear life. It felt like I was the only one not in on the secret - was the world ending? No. It's just the people of Pudsey love the B&M goodness. At rightly so, after all, one can buy some seriously cheap cushions, cushion covers, throws, crisps, snacks, canned goods, duvet sets, prints, rugs, wool, sweets and much, much more. They are also selling a faux fur blanket that, I SWEAR, is the softest most AMAZING feeling thing I have ever touched. Really, it was beautiful! For bargains and households, this place is virtually all encompassing!

I'm a big fan of B&M bargains bot surprising really as I am a bit of a bargain hunter so this place…read moreis perfect for me. It stocks a wide range of goods with everything from food and drink, baby and kids clothes, household products, toys and much much more. I often pop in for nothing in particular and come away with a basket it full of goods. Stock turn over is fast so if you see something grab it while you can or you might miss out. This has happened to me in the past when I waited to buy things. They sell big names toys at reasonable prices my son got a fab powerrangers helmet just before christmas, they also seem to stock lots of Ben 10 items which are very popular. They have big names in baby products like Heniz food and simple wipes. Great cheapy store a bit like the pound shops and home bargains

I must say, this place didn't really have a chance at catching my eye after my excellent experience…read morejust down the road, but even looking at the place objectively it's not really one for me. For one, and in total agreement with both Susan and Aniela, the focus seems to be on the designer front. This interests me so little I can't even describe it, really. Ugg boots? Yawn. I think they're as ugly as they are clumpy. Some Ugg related trivia for you; apparently Australians think that we are mad for wearing Ugg boots outside, especially in the winter, since they are in fact sold more as slippers down under and not in fact boots for the outer terrains. Fascinating! Essentially, Daniel Footwear is a bargain dream store if you covet those high end labels as they sell them for a fraction of the original cost. However, if you are not interested (like me) you might just walk away thinking that it's a bit of a strangely stocked shoe shop. Just not my style I'm afraid.

I love a lot of the Ash line they stock although at around £160ish a pair not enough to part with my hard earned cash!!!! They continue to stock a range of Uggs boots and accessories and at the other end of the spectrum killer heels!!! Also lots of what appear to be quality footwear from Spain and Italy but names not familiar to me. Nice handbags are also often to be found here at a price.Generally friendly and helpful the staff are keen to locate shoes in your size from other stores and get them to sent to this shop although ask for you to pay for them up front saying they will refund if when you try them on they are not suitable. There is often a sale of some sort going on too.
