They sell a number of popular children's shoes brands, such as Lelli Kellu, Sketchers and Geox. The window display is particularly capturing, and dangerously so I can imagine, as they have some extra specially girly pink glittery little numbers in pride of place ready to catch the eye of many a girly girl! They also had some very boyish Sketcher shoes advertised by a 'superhero' called 'Z-strap', which is (obviously) the name of the velcro fastening to keep them on his little feet. A curios tag line of "Never tie your shoes again" accompanied the display, which I feel may be a little preemptive - these shoes would surely only fit a 4 year old, and to *never* tie shoes again would be somewhat of a committment I feel. All in all, with the extra treats of lollipops and hair grips etc, this cutesy little shoe store has all the basics you need to kit out your kids with some decent footwear. Not bad!

One mum who had a 10 year old girl trying on shoes had the poor shop assistant up and down the stairs fetching & carrying what seemed like hundreds of pairs of shoes, some were "too pink" some were "too grey" and the mum (who put her spoilt 10 year old girl on some sort of pedastal) didn't even bother to try and help put said shoes on her daughters golden feet! We get it, you love your princess but OMG there were other customers who needed attention. Don't be so selfish!!! I made this remark to the lovely girl who served me and she replied that she thought I was the nicest customer!!!! My little one tried on the first pair of Geox, loved em, we bought em (£35 with a fiver off for loyalty). Back to the shop itself, lovely, uncluttered and good selection of shoes. One thing I would say to you guys who work there, try and leave precious mums and kids to put their own shoes on. Does that mean they have some excellent second-hand high end to low end brand labels? Definitely. Let me explain. It's Horsforth. It's New Road Side, and there's a lovely run of little shops along the road. Along one end you'll see Sophie's Choice snugly tucked in between a couple of establishments, and when you spot it, you must go inside. For starters, the staff. They've always been really lovely. If you want a bit of advice because your male housemate is useless at giving a fashion-related opinion, call on the ladies that work there. Secondly, the clothes are simply great. I've no idea where they source their items, but as I mentioned previously, there's simply a myriad of labels. More importantly, the clothes are really different. Whilst labels aren't something that I worry about, per se, being told I'd picked up a dress that was featured in Vogue for only £49 seems like a true bargain to me. And I left feeling super smugly fashionable to boot. Thirdly, the prices are excellent. I've bought a wee jacket here for £15, and new shoes as well. Dresses seem to range from a tenner upward, though I'd not seen any more that about £70 so you know it won't break the bank to find a real gem either. The only slight issue is that the odd item is marked -I saw one with those fatal deoderant marks, but that is to be expected of second hand items here and there. In any case, it's a fantastic little shop and I'm only glad I don't come to Horsforth more often - I'd be broke! One final note: they're old school and don't have a card machine! Never fear though, there's an ATM just down t' road.

Or is it actually appropriate these days to name a dress agency after a book about the holocaust? I concede, or at least hope, that the owner simply wasn't aware of the implications of the name, as this shop is actually a nice idea. You can come here and hire posh outfits for parties, ideal if you don't want to spend £100 on a wedding outfit you'll never wear again. They've got everything from M&S to designer names, and outfits and accessories to suit a range of budgets. It's just a shame they're either poorly read or have a rather macabre sense of humour.

I'd never heard of Dunnes before and so I didn't really know what to expect as I perambulated…read morethrough their large front doors. The first thing to catch my eye was the amazingly cheap bed linen on offer. They were selling some really quite duvet covers for next to nothing! I checked the feel of the fabric on the display cover and it was lovely and soft too so I was really quite impressed. On further investigation of the store I came to realise that Dunnes is something of a 'do-it-all' kind of shop - they had clothes, shoes, accessories, decorative items, house items and more on show in this really quite large shop. It's a little bit of a mix between Wilkos and Primark I guess, with the fashion and homeware items all rolled into one building. Whilst I was loving the cheap prices, I purchased myself a delightfully cheap sewing kit for £3 with a great deal inside, the quality is certainly not of the highest standard. For example, the safety pins inside bend very easily and the unpicker is pretty much good for nothing but accidentally stabbing myself. Unpick it does not. Jab me in the thumb as I try it most certainly does. As well as that the clothes on display, in spite of the temptingly cheap prices, were simply not nice enough to buy. Primark at least is bang on trend, even if their items will only last as long as their latest range - 3 months if you are lucky! I think I'd definitely browse again, certainly for some cheap bits when I move house, but it won't be the first place I think to come. The service I received was reasonably friendly but quite lack lustre. That being said, in a shop like this I'd rather not have someone going for the hard sell as they simply wouldn't get it. It's a fair old browse but not necessarily worth a special visit.

Dunnes is the Irish equivalent of M&S, to all intents and purposes. It's perhaps not quite as good…read morequality, but it's really handy as I live within a couple of minutes' walk from here. There's a particular clothing line they stock, Savida, which is pricier than the ordinary 'Dunnes' stuff, but is really good quality. They sell a lot of nice business dress and jackets. There's also a trendier, funkier line on offer, of which I own a few t-shirts and pairs of jeans, and I can't for the life of me remember what it's called - I'll have to check and update. The underwear is good enough quality and cheap too - got a few bras from here that have lasted and still look nice, and their homeware section is pretty much the same as Primark's but it's a bit more expensive. As it's next door to Morrison's, I find myself drawn in for a mooch about every time I do a big food shop, much to my detriment, as I always end up buying something Worth a trip.

I feel so annoyed that I went and spent pretty much *all* my wages before finding this gem - as I can tell you, there would have been some spendage. Inside they have a huge range of delightful shoes, handbags fascinators and other little items. The shoes they have in are fantastic, mostly I think, because there is such a range to suit everyone. As well as having boots (both Ugg style and heeled) they had a range of cute little pumps. They had beautiful court shoes and beautiful vintage style dolly shoes. I was in shoe heaven, and so was my friend, who went away with two beautiful pairs of pumps - which were not only half price, but also scented too! Amazing. The handbags were also gorgeous, my favourite being a rather large black faux leather number with embroidered red roses over the top. They had all colours, shapes and sizes - so again, something for everyone! The fascinators were also exquisite. They had a range of simplistic ones, which were bought in, and a range that are hand made by a local lady. In this way you can go in and find the almost perfect fascinator and make bespoke requests - such as, "I love this one, but I need it in jade green!" How handy is that?! Finally, the staff in this shop were particularly wonderful. They were friendly, attentive and not pushy at all. At first I needed to sit down, so the lady welcomed me to sit and had a friendly natter. As we browsed up stairs the manager (I believe) told us all about the stock and the fascinators and then helped my friend purchase her lovely new shoes. The whole shopping experience was a delight! Everything about the…read moreplace has improved since my initial visit; the items in store are as elegant and delightful as those in the other branches and the arrangement of the garments makes browsing simple and accessible. Inside you'll find all kinds of quality garments, stylish and reasonably priced, and a whole host of shiny goodies to boot. This lovely shop would be the perfect place to treat yourself to a one-off gift or perhaps even somewhere to choose from a range of accessories and items as Christmas gifts! Again, as with the last visit, some of the best items take a little rummaging to seek them out but for me this is sometimes part of the fun with shopping. That said I am a tenacious bargain hunter, and rarely leave a shopping rail unturned! With a fresh new arrangement and some welcoming service, this Oaks is back in the game with its sister stores. As well as some very cool on-trend clothings you can purchase other interesting items such as glassware and umbrellas, jewellery and accessories. Everything in the shop looks to be of good quality and it certainly looks modern and cool. It's not so much my style but I appreciate a good set of wine glasses no matter what the style! Hasseen exclusive wear is just one of the many sari shops on and around Roundhay Road. It stands…read moreout for me because it has some exceptionally beautiful elaborately beaded garments which seem to be of a higher quality and level of detail than the pieces in many of the other sari shops. Some of them really are gorgeous, in vibrant gem colours with intricate patterns of gold and silver beads painstakingly sewn in. It would be worth a visit just to drool over them even if you don't intend to buy anything. The most elaborate garments are suitably more expensive than their less-detailed counterparts, with a very elaborate tunic top selling for £85.Though I'd be worried if it sold for any less considering the work that must have gone into it! If you want to experience the real beauty of traditional South Asian fashion then I would highly recommend Hasseen.
