We don't have such large shopping centres in Switzerland. It's cleaner than any town centre I've ever seen in England with a wide variety of stores. My favourites: A Thornton's, a gigantic Sainsbury's (with every kind of Gü pudding and a huge assortment of chips), several cupcake and cookie stands and a stand selling every conceivable mobile phone case and cover, even one for my Xperia Z! There are also two very large gift / card shops that will probably sell the most obscure card you just couldn't find anywhere else. Try not to go in a mixed gender group, since there's not much for the men to do other than sit around in the café in the middle of the ground floor while the women wander around aimlessly for several hours. White Rose Shopping Centre is one of the best shopping centres in Leeds. The recent refurbishment is fantastic, as it looks modern, as before it looked really grubby. There's lots of shops for both genders, including Bank, and JD. There isn't just clothes shops, there's also a Sainsbury's and Marks & Spencer for supermarket shopping, WHSmith and Paperchase for stationery, and little bits and bobs, and plenty of restaurants, including McDonalds, KFC, Bagel Nash, Nando's, and Handmade Burger Co. However, the parking for the White Rose is quite limited, so I'd say get here early hours, or though the week, not a weekends. read more

Overall a really good shopping centre, the shopping centre is about an hour away from me but I get the bus from Wakefield. There is so many options to choose from shop/food wise. The environment is very friendly and they even have free WiFi. One of my favourite things is the fact the bus stops are right outside as you walk through Debenhams so it's really easy to get to your bus. I would highly recommend this shopping centre read more

I used to love shopping centres. As a younger man than today's young man writing this review, it meant that I could be let off the leash by Mother S., she'd be able to go and look at girl's stuff and I could wander freely around the various sports shop - looking longingly at shinpads, hoping if I stared at them enough, someone might let me have them. Now though, I like to meander through the city centre - not just lug myself to a big centre out of town. Of course, for some people, having the likes of Marks & Spencer, Argos, Boots... (I shouldn't need to go on - think every big high street name) all under one roof is really quite convenient. Some people even like being away from the hustle and bustle (did I say character?) of a big shopping centre. The White Rose isn't brand new anymore, the novelty value that was there for me has long disappeared - but it remains in as good nick as when it opened all those years ago and has the big name shops to satisfy most mainstream shoppers. It's a-ok, as three stars suggest. But I'm not a fan. read more

We were waiting in the queue at New Look we were with our young children. A member of staff was at the counter and we asked if we can collect our online order. She stated I'm not on shift coincidently the store manager Paul walked past and asked the girl to collect the items. Paul said if staff are on the shop floor they are on shift and apologised. Yelp's definition of a 2 star business sums up White Rose Shopping Centre pretty well; 'Meh. I've experience better.' Really though, it leaves a lot to the imagination and falls way below the larger shopping centre we are blessed with in Manchester! Ok I know what you're saying, it's Leeds, and Leeds isn't as good as Manchester and you're quite right, however it is part of the ever booming Northern Powerhouse and investment is starting to flood in, so an update to the options here would be good! 2 stars may be a little negative, however the range of shops available and more so for me the options for coffee/tea/beverages when doing your shop is severely lacking. They did have a Patisserie Valerie however when I visited it was pretty much empty on the cake front, which lets be honest, is the only reason I go there. #fatmatt. The large car park and the growing food court are plus points and White Rose does have a base to expand and move up in the shopping centre ranks, however at this current time, it is lacking in comparison to other big city shopping centres! *Disclaimer I love Leeds really :) read more

The White Rose Centre has many many maaaannnny shops inside to wander around. Fashion shops, jewellery, gaming, cards, food and even travel agents come in the form of shops like; Bagel Nash, Boots, 3, Early Learning Centre, Faith, HMV, La Senza, Orange, Schuh, Thorntons, Topshop, Wallis and Zara. ( Just to name a few). The advantage to shopping in the centre as opposed to out on Briggate is that it doesn't matter if it rains. Your hair WILL NOT get wet. Yay! With plenty of parking, easy access to motorways and lots of food venues under one roof, the white rose is a hit with me! read more

It's difficult to review any shopping centre because it is, after all, a collection of what should be individual reviews. White Rose does what it is meant to do, it provides a collection of run of the mill shops in a covered and clean location with free parking. It also offers a few insipid traders on stands in the centre of the main thoroughfare. For the hungry there is a food court offering several run of the mill chain style food outlets. Get the picture? I guess a shopping centre full of independant traders and unique food experiences would be a big investment risk :( read more

Love this. After growing up in Derbyshire looking at the White rose as a kind if god. Being a 20min bus from Leeds it seems the perfect warm shopping experience. It has everythig you will need and a fresh look. Unlike the dating meadowhall it seems it was just built last month. read more

Ideal for parking facilities and to get to by local transport but it only houses your typical high street shops. Debenhams, top shop, river island, next, zara, hmv etc if your looking for something that bit different i would advise going into Leeds were you have more of a selection but if its the high street shops you want white rose is ideal. read more

I'm probably not the best person to be reviewing The White Rose Centre as I am not the biggest fan of the all-under-one-roof out-of-town shopping mall kinds gal. In fact, for a couple of reasons I dislike them quite significantly and the White Rose Centre does not escape this distain. Seeming to me to be a scally haven you can find pretty much all the usual high street shops right here in this one ugly area complete with food, drink and toilet facilities and masses of car parking. So if it is drizzly and horrid outside but you feel the need to brave a shopping trip regardless then this is a good bet. read more

A great shopping centre especially if you are looking for gifts. Most of the major high street shops are to be found there and a food hall which is not too bad either. The car park is very confusing and make sure you orientate yourself and remember which doors you came in at, trying to walk around it to find your car is the equivalent of walking to Leeds :-) Great thing is you can leave your car parked and take a short bus ride into Leeds city centre without having to worry about parking. read more

I went here for the first time on Friday night because I wanted one of those M&S dine in for a tenner deals but didn't fancy braving the city centre and parking and all that. Now I've been once I probably won't be as petrified by the crazy parking system when I go back, but at the time, looking for M&S was like finding a needle in a haystack and I nearly crashed about 3 times (which is actually more to do with my driving ability over anything else, I'll admit). I went in through the Primark entrance, although I wasn't sure whether this was allowed or whether I'd have to pretend to be really interested in buying something from Primark or what, but I was in a hurry so I burned straight over to the food court bit and then got lost on my way out and ended up in a purple car park instead of a yellow one I think that next time I come, I'll make sure I'm accompanied. The White Rose centre is the smallest shopping centre I've ever been in. It takes about 5 minutes to walk from one end to the other. There is a good variety of shops there, providing you like clothes shopping - otherwise it's pretty uneventful really. The food court is OK, especially now they've opened Nandos. Always clean, usually enough room for parking, but the weekends are so busy it's a nightmare. Ideal for a quick trip, but not really a day out. read more

I came to this place and i wasn't impressed at all. The range of shops is boring and there isn't even a decent entrance to the place from the Bus Interchange! You're forced to walk through Debenhams! Also i can walk from one end to the other in 5 mins. Just isn't worth the long bus journey. Stick to Leeds city centre or go to Meadowhall instead. As a man that typically doesn't like shopping there are limits to how much I can shout about the White Rose Centre. However I have been twice with my girlfriend and there's a pretty large variety of shops catering for almost everything you will want. The first thing that struck me was how small the centre is compared to how I had envisaged it to be. The two times we have been, we've caught the bus from town which is a quick journey and pulls up right outside BHS. The upstairs food court is great if you like your fast food - KFC, Pizza Hut, Nandos, McDonalds, Burger King and lesser known outlets like Spud U Like and even a fish and chip shop. White Rose is a nice place to visit after work (or other non-busy time) because you can wander round the shops and chill out with a coffee. It's not amazing, but it's certainly not the nightmare I've heard Meadowhall is! read more

A great shopping centre in Leeds, although not huge it is home to some great shops. There is a large car park however if you visit the centre via buses be prepared to need to walk through Debenhams. Once inside the centre you have the ability to get small push around carts for your children they also offer a security tag incase your child wanders off. Stores range from Ann Summers to Primark to the Disney Store, there really is something for everyone. Including a supermarket. Upstairs is the food court which is a junk food fanatics dream come true with KFC and Subways and much more. read more

The more I visit the White Rose centre the more I hate it. It gets very very busy and the variety of shops are becoming less and less. This kind of place to me should be somewhere I can get pretty much whatever I want or need under its roof. I can no longer do that. I was sorry to see the Mothercare go and I think Woolies has gone now too. All it seems good for now a days is clothes and computer games. The food court is what we have come to expect from shopping centres fast, cheap food, often bland and costs a fortune. You can find the usual big names such as Mcdonalds, Pizza hut, star bucks and KFC along with a jacket potaote place, chinese and a few others. What would make this centre a little more bareable would be some kind of supervised soft play area where you could take your little ones to play while you have a coffee. read more

The White Rose in Leeds is a decent sized shopping centre for those after a browse without the busy vibe of somewhere like the Trafford Centre. There are lots of shops to choose from including Primark, Sainsbury's, H Samuel, ELC, Sports Direct, Topshop, DP's etc so shops to suit all ages. Lots of smaller gift stalls in the cnetre itself offer more unique gifts and items to those found on the high street. There is a food court on the top floor with the usual choice of fast food outlets which suits most people whilst shopping. I'd say definitely worth a visit for those christmas bargains, large car park with plenty of spaces. read more

I have very mixed feelings about this place, it is a small shopping centre, but being a new mum its ideal for taking bubs as its indoor, has direct bus services and is easy to get around. However I do find it overcrowded, the selection of shops lack, mainly clothing, especially what I like to call arcadia corner, Bhs, topshop/man, miss selfridge, evans, dp, and wallis all within 100m2 The debenhams here is poo! As for the food court, yes it is always very clean, I take my hats off to the cleaners who work there, they put so much effort in despite all the slobs who cant pick up and clear thier tray. But the selection is rubbish, Mcyds, kfc, pizzahut express, spud u like, chip shop and nandos(overpriced chicken) but for the size of the center not the worst I have seen. My biggest gripe with this place is the lack of disabled parking, tried to visit the centre in december with stepdad who is in a wheelchair, every disabled spot was taken up by a non disabled landrover, and there are only a handfull of spaces, easily less than 20 from what we could see,so not only is the parking unregulated, but not enough space provided for those who need it. read more

Lots of fashion shops, a freindly and smart shopping centre. For me as a male though it is lacking in gadget type shops. A lot of cloths shops for the fashion concious out there though. Loads of eating areas too and always some different stalls in the middle section !! Lots of natural sunlight from the glass roofing also and it does seem quite chilled on a hot day read more

About a 10-minute bus from the city centre this is the perfect location to get all of your shopping done! There is a massive range of high street shops from River Island, Topshop to Debenhams and Miss Selfridge. The food court is so hard to stay away from, on my lunch breaks (I work at River Island) I find myself spending half of it deciding what I want. I shamefully once went for KFC and fish and chips; I honestly couldn't make the decision. Its okay, I walked down the stairs instead of using the escalator, that's got to count for something. The great thing about this centre is that everything is under one roof and when its a rainy day or you just want to get your Christmas shopping done, this is your place. My only qualm is that it does get very busy on a weekend and I suggest you stay away during Christmas; it's like a battlefield. On a weekday most stores are open until 9pm, during Christmas this extends to 10pm. The shopping centre is very clean, well designed and has some variety with different events taking place and different market stalls opening up now and again. read more

White Rose isn't a bad shopping centre there's a various of shops to shop in would of been allot better if you was spoilt for choice when it comes to eating. It doesn't come noway close to trinity but its ok. For those who's never been should give it a try. Being easily accessible from both Leeds and Bradford by bus or car means the the White Rose Centre can be very popular. With it's own department store, Debenhams. As well as many other stores such as Primark, New Look, the Disney Store, Evans as well as a large food court upstairs with everything from a Ainsleys to a KFC. You can get a variety of great deals here and for not much cost. Or you can spend a fortune and get yourself a designer item, like a Radley bag. read more

It may not be the biggest shopping centre in the world and it doesn't have a huge variety of shops but the White Rose Centre is a great place to shop. The majority of the big high street stores are represented at the White Rose, M&S, Debenhams, Primark, HMV, Carphone Warehouse etc and is also home to a large Sainsburys. The Sainsburys has a good selection of food and drink and also stock a large range of extra 'items', electricals, clothes entertainment and seasonal items. The centre is generally clean and tidy with plenty of space to wander around the shops, even though I usually time my trips when it's busy. Transport to the centre is good by car or bus though it can be a bit hectic if Leeds United are at home. Personally I see the White Rose as a good place for either an extended supermarket shop or an avoid town to get a few bits shop. Overall the White Rose is a good shopping trip but lacks some the choice available in the city centre. read more

I like this shopping centre, it's not particularly big but it's got pretty much everything you need. It's not far off the M62 turn off to Bradford, so it's easy to get to. There's plenty of parking spaces, eating places, clothes shops etc. I go here regularly as I like everything being in one place, it makes shops much more accessible compared to Leeds city centre. read more

White Rose shopping centre is great if your looking for that special gift with its great variety of shops under one roof i.e Debenhams,Primark,Topshop,Boots,Adams,Sainsburys. You can go look around all the grovey shops then nip in to Sainsburys for your weekly shop.( All under one roof )and then nip for lunch in the food court with a variety off foods from kentucky to chinese. read more

This place is overrated - the shops are small and the range is no better than anywhere else. THe location is out of town, so fine if you have a car, but is quite a long bus ride from teh city centre, and not the most frequent service. There are very few places to sit and relax apart from the food area which is not always clean and usually full of teenagers. There are a lot of computer stores, which is good for some, but the range of shops isn't great. Also, the layout can be frustrating as it is a long walk from one end to the other, but the maps give you no indication of where the stores are, so unless you are a regular it is frustrating to navigate. The Primark is worth going to, but is you need to shop, go to the city centre. read more

This is not a massive shopping centre on the scale of Manchester's Trafford or Sheffield,s Meadowhall, but it has a great range of shops and really nice feel to the place. Its open late and really convinient if you live on the south side of Leeds. although it gets quite busy on weekends you can sill always get around and the crowds are never that bad, and the mall is quite wide so there is plenty of room. read more

I think this is a great sized shopping centre and has almost everything you need under one roof. Add a massive Sainsbury's to the list and i'd be surprised if you couldn't get all your Christmas presents here this yearI say this because we did around three years ago. With a great selection of major chain stores and some small stall holders selling funky gifts and gadgets and on to the large Debenhams store you are spoilt for choice. It has a very nice cafe upstairs which is placed central to the main shopping and is easily acessible and great for a coffee and an unwind before you continue shopping or head off home. read more

went to the White Rose to look for wedding dresses with a friend, we thought there would be a few specialist shops but we were wrong and could only find a small selection in shops such as Debenhams and BHS. Then after a visit to the food court - which has a pretty decent selection of outlets for the size of the shopping centre - we went home. I love it here, but i do think it could do with some more big shops in like H&M - Meadwohall has a huge H&M and its so busy in there. One in the White Rose would be great. Free parking and buses go to and from town to here so its very easily accessible for those who don't drive. Good food court and loads of security so you do feel safe in there. read more
