Sinks Canyon is so named because of a rushing river that flows out of the mountains and through the canyon. Halfway down, the river turns (sinks) into a cavern and runs underground for 1/4 mile where it emerges in a pool called "The Rise". In the Rise there are Rainbow and Brown trout; the larger ones may weigh up to 12 lbs, but NO FISHING! For a quarter you can buy fish food to feed the fish, which is fun for everyone. A must-do if you are in the area! Also check out the Visitor Center. It is small, but is one of the best I've seen, and I've seen many. The wildlife is well displayed; and I loved the wildflower displays. The geologic rocks outside the visitor center are also A+. Well done, absolutely 5 stars.

During our most recent trip Tristan approached our group with a very hostile demeanor. I am concerned regarding how the situation was handled. Our party was accused of a situation that that allegedly resulted in other guests needing to be refunded. However, this was not an accurate representation of what occurred. We feel that our group was unfairly blamed for circumstances that were not caused by us. Rather than taking the time to establish the facts and determine what actually occurred we were met by hostility and anything we said back was not acknowledged, he threatened to "ban" our group from the property. The way this situation was handled was not professional at all.
